  1. Swaggervile can stay buried. Forever. That was Odell Willis's baby. You want more guys like him with that idiot "ME FIRST" attitude on the team? No thanks.
  2. Lapo would be reunited with some of his former players like Getzlaff, Bagg, Durant & Dressler. He'd have more talent to work with than he did in Winnipeg so maybe he'd do okay.
  3. Yeah, Don was a nice man. Before I job shadowed him, I called him at work out of the blue to ask if I could job shadow him for a day & he immediately agreed. All the guys on the 24 Hours set were nice. I don't recall seeing a lot of egos on that show the day I was there. I never liked Harris & his monotone delivery & know it all attitude, "I'm smarter than anyone else" on air persona. He had one really good curling season 20 years ago & unfortunately he parlayed that into a curling broadcast career.Wasn't even a good season. Fluked his way through the Oly Trials (they've since put measures in place to keep things like this from happening...) and picked up a Bronze (!!!) at Olys when there were basically no other countries worth a damn competing at that time....awful.Then, just like Rod Black we were stuck with Harris.
  4. Well, the question must be asked, Will he make it to tomorrow's practice?

  6. To this day, Walby and Wittman are my favourite CFL broadcast crew of all time... To this day, Walby and Wittman are my favourite CFL broadcast crew of all time... I always liked Don because he'd find a way to mention the Blue Bombers on every CFL broadcast he did. I job shadowed Don for a day on the old 24 Hours set when I was in grade 9 which was so cool. I met all of the on air celebrities that day as he got ready for his sportscast. He treated me so well. I also met Alvin Karpis that day in the studio. John Harvard interviewed him as I recall. I was introduced & we spoke for a few minutes. Asked me my name, how old I was, what grade I was in & why I was there. Seemed like a really nice old man. Then I found out who he was.... I Just remember telling my dad that night I had met Alvin Karpis & he just looked at me with an astonished look & said, "You met Alvin Karpis??"
  7. After watching that game in Calgary & how we lost it, seventh seems about right. I've no reason to think the Bombers are any better.
  8. I just remember LaPo having problems managing the clock & making decisions that cost us games. Perhaps being away from the sidelines for a couple of years may have taught him a few things as to how to handle pressure. Was he a great coach? No, but then again he didn't have a lot of time to become one.
  9. Walby described football as a CBC analyst the way any good former offensive lineman would. With a chicken wing in his left hand & a bottle of beer in his right. He was having fun.
  10. Matt lives in Dallas, I believe.
  11. I understand this from the NBA's pov but damn that is sleazy. Not surprising though. And as the article points out, it's good for the NBA to have Seattle in the back pocket for when/if another team needs to relocate asap. But it means poor Seattle could be left hanging for years to come. As a Jets fan I know the feeling. How about the fans in QC? They have a brand new building going up that holds 3,000 more seats than ours & Bettman has hung them out to dry for years.
  12. He keeps throwing people under the bus, alienating fans and losing and he will be gone by mid-season. Don't forget assistant coaches. How many position coaches & coordinators has he pointed the finger at & canned since he became HC in Saskatchewan?? Never his fault. It's always his assistants & the players. They... just... don't ...get ... it... right... dammit. I'm sure there'd be a few chuckles from coaches around the league that used to work for him if Chamblin got what he did to those guys. They'd never say it publicly but you know how they'd feel.
  13. I think we have to look at progress. If it's evident that the Bombers are improving at 9-9 but didn't make the playoffs I'd still keep MOS. If it looks like the team is actually stagnating or regressing then a decision has to be made to keep or fire him. Let's put it another way, if we have the same kind of losing streak in the second half of the season as we did in 2014, MOS will be fired. What it comes down to is (again) waiting for the season to end to see how we did & go from there.
  14. 4-14 yes. 9-9 no.
  15. Look what happened when Tim Burke took over mid season from LaPo. It was even worse.
  16. We have one of the best ST coaches in MOS as our HC but let's face it, we haven't had great special teams play overall since he got here. I know Pat Tracy is the STC but maybe our HC has to have more input into the decisions on that unit.
  17. If the Riders trade Glenn & they may as well forfeit the rest of the season. What Rider fan in his right mind would demand that Glenn be traded?
  18. Higgins has always been smart enough to surround himself with good coaches on all of the staffs he had in Edmonton, Calgary & Montreal. Like a lot of good head coaches he lets his guys coach & doesn't micro manage them like I think Chamblin does in Saskatchewan. A lot of great assistants want to work for Higgins so I think that tells you something about him as a person. I've never heard him throw any of his coaches under the bus. The Rick Worman situation in Montreal may be the only one of his career where there was some kind of a problem & that may have been more Jim Popp forcing him to let Rick go than Higgins wanting to let him go. I never got the impression that decision was Tom Higgins.
  19. Gee I wonder why... LOL! So true.
  20. I think this is missing the real point of why the Bombers don't hire experience.... it's a general managers and coaches grave yard. Experienced people don't want to come here because the track record in Winnipeg is a couple years and you're fired with your reputation in tatters. Justified or not that's what's happened for the last 15 years and it does impact whether guys want to come here and subject themselves to that. Walters and O'Shea might not be perfect but you have to give them a long enough period you can't just keep firing people all the time, that ensures you're not able to hire the best candidates. Yes, our record the past few years has been a problem so I acknowledge what you said Thing is, I know that Jim Barker applied for the GM job but the Bombers hired Mack & I believe that Tom Higgins was interested in the HC job as well at the end of the 2013 season after he left the CFL. I don't think it's been all inexperienced people applying for Bomber management & coaching positions. You gotta get off the Higgins train man, he ain't done much of note in Montreal and the Als lost a game very similarly to how the Bombers lost to the Stamps. The problems here are deep rooted long term ones that aren't remedied easily. Barker and Higgins? Why waste time on them? I think all of us are spending too much time on the What Ifs here. We have Walters & O'Shea now. It's their second season. Let the season play out to see what happens.
  21. 20 years ago maybe but Cole is an old man now and can't keep up with the play, he spends most of the games now hoping that he is sitting in the pie. Cole is way over the hill. The guy is pushing 80.
  22. No problem. Been around long enough myself to see him booted off our site under a variety pack of names. Its funny when ever a new poster starts up everyone always thinks its him. As soon as a Rider fan comes on here & starts tooting their team's horn aggressively, it is looked upon as Migs coming back as that is his MO. He'll argue just to argue no matter what.
  23. Chamblin is 29-29 as a head coach. His only saving grace is he won a Grey Cup. Still though, with the veteran talent on that team he should be at least 15 games above 500. I always felt that he was overrated. Then there's Brendan Taman who has sold the team's future down Wascana Creek because of his "win now" philosophy. .
  24. went to seattle a few years ago by car, planned a night stay there, almost got hit by a bus on tracks, couldn't believe how horrendous the traffic was, left immediately. I've driven around Los Angeles, it's much easier than Seattle. That place is not laid back. My son's girlfriend lives in Renton, WA & she loves it. Renton is part of Metro Seattle. He drives down from Vancouver to see her & he hates Seattle because of the traffic. It's a beautiful city, don't get me wrong but it's almost gridlock everywhere.
  25. Hey Ripper, as you're not Migs in disguise then I apologize for saying that. No one deserves to be thought of as that guy as he is a moron. He's been kicked off here & other CFL sites continuously & then comes back using other names only to be outted again & banned once more.
