  1. We wouldn't be close to a playoff team without Buff. At times, he put the team on his back & carried it. Not many players have the ability to do that. Anyone who says he's a luxury is daft. We can't go forward without him.
  2. Good point, if Bryant gets seriously injured I'm not sure this O-line will do much better than last years edition. An upgrade at Center is great but it's not going to help them much out on the wings. Bombers are very high on Jace Daniels, who would fill in at LT if Bryant got injured. Devin Tyler is another option there as well. I'd say our OL depth this year is better than it was last year. I'd still like to find a way to keep Morley around, but I understand there are some cap issues with that. Jace Daniels just filling in? Devin Tyler?? We had the worst OL in the CFL last year. Our starters were for the most part useless & our backups even worse. So, if a few of the new guys go down hey... it's... no... big... deal. The B Team can fill in & we don't miss a beat. We're solid! Yeesh. This is basically just a classic example of painting every player with the same brush. Jace Daniels didn't take a lot of snaps, but when he was in there, he was great. Just because our OL sucked as a whole doesn't mean we didn't have some capable players. Devin Tyler kinda sucks though. Kinda hard NOT to paint that unit with the same brush as we've sucked on the OL for so many years that the word suck has become the norm for this team. Daniels has looked good but he's also been beaten on plays as well. Jury's out on the kid still. He may develop into a good player given time but he's not there yet. Has a lot of potential. I think as a whole our starting unit is a lot better than last season. As good or better than a lot of teams thanks to off season acquisitions of Picard & Bryant as well as Neufeld being able to start. What scares me is when we lose a starter or two on that line. That's when we'll have problems. I think it's safe to say with an 18 game season there will be injuries & depth will be a huge concern on our offensive line. I'm all for continuing to draft & develop Canadian offensive linemen. Love to see Demski or Durant here but I believe the priority are the hoggies up front & should be for a few seasons yet to come

And Tyler is a serviceable CFL tackle, who looked better than Jarvis Jones, Cordaro Howard and the super ripped athletic guy (can't remember his name now). They might not be all-stars, but our depth is slowly improving. I agree with that but the comments seemed like losing any of our starters was no big deal when we know we've struggled on the OL for years. I just felt the comments were kind of dismissive.
  4. I'd take Bure in a heartbeat. The guy was a great goal scorer. He & Teemu Selanne were filling NHL nets with goals back in 1992-93. When I think of Bure one dimensional doesn't come to mind. You might as well say Teemu was one dimensional because all he scored was 76 goals that season.

  6. Yup. Don't get me wrong the cons have idiots in their celebrity wing too. Like rush. But as for liberals I mich prefer a guy like Colbert who still makes fun without seeming like an arrogant child But like people say, for the Libs there's Bill Maher. .
  7. Pedal to the metal. Can't let up.
  8. I remember a time when Liberal Democrats & Conservative Republicans could have an intelligent conversation about anything political. Both sides had their points. Now it's all insults & shouting at one another. Now you have the religious right & the looney left going at it.
  9. I never was impressed with White. How many athletic qbs have we seen that come up here with the big arms & million dollar legs who just don't make it? I'd say 7 or 8 out of every 10 of them end up going home.
  10. Judy Wasylicia- Leis needs a job. I wonder if she applied.
  11. You know what I don't like about this forum? Someone mentioned earlier that Gary Lawless has credibility when it comes to rumours because he's connected which got me thinking. Fine, I accept that premise as he is connected. But just about everybody here hates Lawless. He's always mocked & ridiculed when he writes something that people on this forum don't like. Then his stories are just considered garbage. But man, when he writes something people like or one of his stories is used to backup someone's POV then he's just fine. Some people here are hypocrites is all I'm saying.
  12. Too bad Johnny Carson's not around anymore...
  13. Maher makes a helluva lot more money than Ezra ever did on television.
  14. Good point, if Bryant gets seriously injured I'm not sure this O-line will do much better than last years edition. An upgrade at Center is great but it's not going to help them much out on the wings. if Bryant gets hurt who we drafted isn't going to make a lick of difference. True. Let's hope he doesn't. But he has missed time in the past. Give the younger guys a chance to develop instead of being thrown to the wolves.
  15. I still think you draft from the OL out. We look to be better on the line but we're paper thin. Expect those starters to miss some time due to injuries. We need to keep developing offensive linemen. That is our first priority. I just wish it was like it was back inn the 70's & 80's where the team could go out & sign players like Buddy Brown & Butch Norman for an incredible upgrade & hole fixer. More Canadians started in those days as well. There were starting Canadian outside linebackers, safeties, corners, split ends or flankers, slotbacks as well as D & OL.
  16. Maher is what passes for a liberal in the US, but he is still obnoxious. It is is possible to make your point without coming across as an arrogant twit. His stance on political correctness is Big C Conservatism.
  17. I always thought that Bill Maher was a Liberal. Guess I was wrong. And Sean Penn is looking old & tired just like the rest of us.
  18. I used to work with 2 brothers from India. They were from New Delhi. They referred to themselves as Indians.
  19. Yeah, Vic Magnogna played Kirk. There are 3 episodes that have been filmed. I've briefly seen other Trek shows & Kirk was played by actors who just played the Kirk part. They didn't look, act or sound like the James T Kirk we all knew that Shatner played. So, because of that I could never watch any other versions until I came across the ones with Magnogna in them. They tried to stay true to the old tv series.
  20. Good. Why subsidize crap? A channel dedicated to cottage life?
  21. Well, talk to someone from India & they call themselves Indians.
  22. Vic Magnogna sure does that. And he doesn't do it in a campy kind of way. It's done with respect. From what I've read, William Shatner approves of this version of Kirk & has met Magnogna. I also like the fact that this story is now completed in the episode. As Trek Fans, I think we all wondered what kind of hell there was to going to be paid when the evil Kirk got back to his universe & his Enterprise.
  23. Oh, no- you were correct- he's not even in the league any more. I saw Gretzky in the fall of 1978 as a 17 year old Indianapolis Racer when the Jets were in the WHA at the Old Barn on Maroons Road. No one knew at the time the kind of player he'd become back then. He was just this skinny kid trying to find his way with a bad team. Lots of hype back then too.
  24. Check this entire episode out. It is a fan based Star Trek series trying to keep the spirit of the original Star Trek alive. it completedthe story on the original series where Kirk, McCoy, Scotty & Uhura were transported into an alternate universe where the United Federation Of Planets is an evil empire & their counterparts are savage & brutal. I have to say I was impressed. Give this a chance. I really enjoyed it. BTW, Scotty in this episode is played by James Doohan's son.
