I always wondered why the Jets wanted their AHL team in a city halfway or more to London, England three time zones ahead. Look at all the teams the Maritimes have had that never worked.

The AHL would draw flies here. There is a real push to have an AHL West Division based mostly out of California so maybe a Jets AHL team ends up there.

I think the market will dictate just what the fans in QC watch. They may have to build a 25.000 seat stadium someday just to do that.

With Team Canada in the Brier now & apparently going to stay it is time to eliminate Northern Ontario & just have a single provincial championship.No province should have 2 representatives if another province wont be there. Totally stupid on both counts.

They say this years Brier was a tough field but they way it played out I think there were a few past Briers with as better teams than the one in Calgary this year. If it was as tough as they say NO wouldnèt have nearly run the table. I think people had not heard of a lot of the teams.

They set attendance records in 1997 & 2009 at the Saddledome. But this year, not so much. I guess the fact Kevin Koe blows are keeping crowds down. I don't know if they consider Team Canada a local team. Whatever it is, the attendance isn't what it used to be.

Tried to start a Brier Thread on CFL Horsemen the Calgary Stampeders fan forum site. No interest. Just one response saying they know nothing about curling. I'm shocked.

Look up Gary Ross & see how many Manitoba finals he lost in the 70's & 80's. He never made it to the Brier.

Have to be tough as nails to play that game as there's no helmets or pads. When I was in my 20's I was asked to play rugby by some of my friends. I was already working full time & being 25 or so I thought the the last thing I needed was to get injured. I wussed out. I'd see those guys practicing & playing on Churchill Drive in Riverview & I never regretted my decision either.
