It's always peaches & cream with the Riders. I can't stand that team & its fans. Never trust anything that comes out of that organization as a press release or media conference.

The interview that made Jim Rome's career.

One of the liquor stores in Cranston has a sign in the window saying they make deliveries. I've never had to test it out but it's nice to know the option is there. But that was an actual beer company delivering the goods. I'm talking the distillery doing the delivery... Nice daydream.

If Sam Hurl goes anywhere it'll probably be back to Calgary where he grew up, played his bantam, midget, HS & college ball. (Just speculating).

Wow, my dad loved his beer. If we had this back in the day he'd have never left our house. My dream, instead of a beer company making home deliv ery, a distillery did instead. Rum, rye or vodka I wouldn't care.

Contributions were undisciplined play & mostly taking stupid penalties. Buh bye.

He re-focused on the tackle, not the smack down. It's football, you go hard or you go home (on a stretcher usually). Hitting/tackling is the same thing when that's how you play. Doubt Solomon could change how he plays and stil would remain as effective ... I disagree, hitting and tackling are not the same thing. Ian Wild and Alex Suber are examples of great tacklers that do not rely heavily on the hitting component. One of the Bombers problems last year was not wrapping up and containing the ball carrier, thus poor tackling. Wild missed significant time with injuries. Guys get injured. Part of the game. The reason that Elimimian won the MOP award is because offensive output was down significantly all across the CFL & defensive play was much better. There really wasn't one offensive player that truly stood out as the best in the league. Elimimian did because he flies to the football. He's a smart player, makes great reads as a defensive player, knows his opponents so he puts in a ton of prep work each week & tackles extremely well. He kept up his play the entire season unlike John Chick who just faded away over an 18 game season & playoffs. But to fundamentally change his game like you suggest, I doubt that.

Please explain how Elimimian changed his game to prolong his career? I'd like to hear that one.

That brings back a memory from my youth. My grandparents owned a general store in Selkirk and my grandfather told me about this guy who lived in Selkirk and played for the bombers. I didn't know he was a milkman but my grandfather seemed to know him quite well. Thanks for that. Hard to believe that milk was actually delivered to your door as was bread. I remember the bread & milk trucks making the rounds in our neighbourhood as a little kid. Same with oil. Before natural gas, the furnaces used oil & the tanker truck would come around every few months, hook the hose up to the outlet on the wall outside & pump away. I seem to remember some houses had coal but I could be wrong. The other thing I remember about the wonderful 1960's. We could buy firecrackers. I had a friend who loved to show off. He'd light one up, put it into his fist & squeeze tightly. It would explode in his hand but he wouldn't get hurt because he squeezed so hard that it muffled the explosion & therefore didn't injure or burned his hand. I knew of kids who lost fingers or suffered severe burns when a firecracker went off & they were holding it. The kid was crazy.

Fixed your post. But seriously how can so many people listen to sports radio so much? I just don't get it. Listening to a bunch of self important media people pretending to be smarter than they are... At least on message boards when people start pretending to be smart I can argue with them. I would go crazy talking NHL hockey everyday, every month of the year... I like hockey but really? I don't know about Winnipeg but this is the reality of sports radio in Calgary. Flames, Flames, Flames, Flames, Flames.

Cec Luining was my cousin. He lived in Selkirk & was employed as a milkman there. (This was the 1950's). He was a linebacker. Jack Wells nicknamed him "The Mad Milkman From Selkirk".

Radio is sad in Calgary as well. That being said, I was in Winnipeg in December & it's not much better.

But why does Walters have to replace Watson now? Bombers played half the season last year without Watson and when he did play he didn't do much. JFG filled in admirably. The deal was there to make now so Walters made it.

Just as long as it isn't a guy like Donald Grump... err... Crump. -
Talented player but had some serious concussion issues with Indy. Would he be a National or International player under the new CBA?

Surely you can understand the value in seeing players play live. Lots of front office guys, especially GM's, really don't get to see young players play live because they are tied up with their pro teams for most of the college season. Actually the CFL scouts generally don't stay & watch the game usually. They watch the practices that week leading up to the game to get an idea of the players but usually leave before the game is played. Ya the practices are live. Don't shoot the messenger.

What makes your opinions more credible than anyone else's? Spuds worded it wrong, sounds like he wants an argument but reading a few of those posts on page 1 here, Not sure exactly how what Spuds said is wrong. Maybe saying something like.. instead of making up bs and calling people out like the one guy is doing to Bowman and Chipman here pretty much, perhaps present some real facts to support your argument instead of just saying "gut feeling". Maybe that would have been better?? I mean really, basically saying Bowman was bought by Chipman is a pretty hardcore accusation and in my opinion, if you are making accusations like that, you better present some pretty damn good facts to back that up. Sorry but "gut feeling" isn't good enough. SPuDs said nothing wrong. There's accusations being thrown around with nothing to base them on & SPuDs just pointed that out.

He was not happy being traded by the Riders to TO. He wanted to stay with the Riders. Exactly.

Again, YOU might think it's a waste of time & money. Others don't.

I don't agree. You need a good coach who knows his stuff to coach that group as this is a passing league with some great receivers who can stretch the field vertically or catch the short to intermediate routes. I believe that DB coaches are just as important as linebacker or DL coaches.
