There's no political or business will to build a stadium outside of downtown Toronto though. We can discuss it all we like but it isn't going to happen. The only option being discussed is BMO Field & David Braley did a real good job of screwing that up.

Riders release; Bombers sign Dominic Picard

You know Ottawa already has Jon Gott at Center. Picard isn't good enough to beat him out. Center is not one of their weak spots on the OL. Didn't you just suggest he'd go to Ottawa like two posts above this one? Yeah, I did... LOL! then I realized Gott was already there & went hey... I flubbed that pretty good. -
No one forced him to take that . And everything you've said about Strombo, MacLean said he heard the same stuff when he took over from Dave Hodge. Dave Hodge was a sportscaster who knew hockey & football as he used to be the voice of the Argos in the 70's before his HNIC gig. When Ron MacLean took over from the fired Dave Hodge, he didn't try to dress cool, act cool or be different from the people he worked on camera with. He was knowledgeable about hockey so he fit in quickly. We really don't know what Strombo knows about sports, especially hockey being on the entertainment side of the broadcast biz for years. I also don't think MacLean had a choice as Rogers would have fired him had he refused the new assignmment. I don't think he had much of a choice. Do you really think he wanted to give up his hosting duties to do what he's doing now? Somehow I don't.

K-Groh is just not good enough... Gott or Picard can play guard as well - nothing wrong with an interior of Deane-Gott-Picard, move McMillan to RT, draft more OL Picard will probably cost $130-150k - not sure that breaking the bank on Holmes or Heenan is the right move for Ottawa, they need receivers and DBs Picard has been a center his entire career hasn't he? -

Well, trade Gott to us then. We'd have a CFL all star. They already have Alex Krausnick who was a starter in Edmonton for a few games backing up Gott. It would be beyond stupid to sign Picard & throw out a pile of money doing it but this is Marcel Desjardins we're talking about . -
Man & there's Ron MacLean on television tonight listening to a guy droning on about Owen Sound winning the Memorial Cup in 1924. "And there were 8,000 people there to meet the train. Kids were let out of school..." You could just see the OMFG look in his eyes as dude went on & on. Then MacLean ends the segment with an announcement that the guy will come to your school to lecture about the history of Owen Sound. This new assignment has to be killing him inside.

Why not? The Kim family are all wack jobs. They have killed indiscriminately & they rule with terror. Human rights in North Korea, what human rights?

I wonder why he wouldn't sell?

Sure, Rider fans today are so ticked Edmonton won 5 Grey Cups when their team finished out of the playoffs every year it happened from 78-82. Can't you just feel the hate?

Frigging Desjardins. He'll sign the guy to a huge contract. -
I don't like Strombo because he doesn't fit in. From his bad choice fashion statements like last night to the fact he's better suited in entertainment & not sports. The guy that should be hosting HNIC is Elliott Freedman.

1. They hate BC. 2. The Rider defence has actually been pretty good for the last couple years. Really? I've never seen that much hate for the Lions over there. Sure they don't like them (they don't like any other team than the Riders), but I've seem MUCH more hate for other teams than BC. Probably the most hated team over there is Edmonton. Edmonton? Until last season they were an irrelevant team. The hate is for the Stamps & Winnipeg. Dates way back to the 1980s when Edmonton had a strong team. Rider fans still hate the Esks for that era. The top rivals probably are Calgary and Winnipeg now, but there is plenty of Edmonton bashing over there still. Duressler, c'mon... most Rider fans like you weren't even born then. And the Riders sucked during that era finishing at or neat near the bottom of the West from 1978 to 82. So why would some twenty or thirty something Rider fan hate the Eskimos because of Warren Moon or Dave Fennell? Or that they won 5 Grey Cups considering the Riders never played in any Western Final vs the Eskimos back then?? There's no way Rider fans of today hate the Esks because of winning successive GC's 35 years ago.

I'm no MacLean fan but he's light years better than Strombo. Dumb decision.

How the hell could they have hired Strombo & exiled Ron MacLean? Strombo looked like a fish out of water last night. Kypreos & Hrudey came to work & Strombo was going clubbing after the broadcast.

How many of you were disgusted with Glenn Healey last night either pumping up the Leafs whenever he could or making excuses for them?? It was supposed to be a national broadcast & we were subjected to Leaf homerism the entire game. Healey's useless. And the Leaf err... HNIC studio panel has Byfuglien leaving maybe as soon as July as they think there's no way Winnipeg can re-sign him to an extension before 2016 even though we're $20 million under the salary cap.

Too bad. I'm sure someone else will start up another site.

Our line needs all the help it can get. If he can still play & even just help us for one season then maybe in that time we can find an upgrade. I'm not against signing Picard. I know this, when Durant was injured, that entire Rider offense lost a significant percentage of its entire IQ. Coaches & players weren't as smart as before. Things that worked before stopped working. Durant was their team MVP. They were lost offensively without him. -

Yeah, I remember we tried to re-sign him, some years ago, and he said adios. Good luck Dominic. He didn't show any loyalty to any team he played. The Bombers, Argos or Riders so it's easier to say adios to a player like that. Having said that, he went where the money was & who can blame him? No doubt if he was still a starter he'd go where the money is again. -
How many Super Bowls has Brady won? Cutler?? I think that takes care of that. Still, Brady can be an @$$.... at times but he can get away with it.

Common complaint? They should walk in our shoes as fans for a season or two. #spoiled -

I know pro football is a business but hard to feel sorry for Picard after he left us. He cashed in & now he'll be cashed out as a player. I think he'll be picked up. -
We need Bluto's take here on the Argo fan demographics. I believe that he hates going to Argo games at Rogers Centre downtown weeknights.
