Who cares about the Oilers? Just look at the player the Jets drafted & playing at the WJC! And the Jets did that without drafting 1st or second every year.

Bombers restructure Nick Moore's contract

So he goes elsewhere & puts up 1200 yards receiving. Let's not give up on the guy yet & hope last season was just bad luck for Moore. -
Can't see Ohio beating OSU especially if that third string qb starts & plays.I think Bama was over confident. Now Oregon gets 2 weeks to prepare for the Buckeyes.

Tim Tebow a guy with great character, the anti Johnny Manziel... & he lasted 3 seasons. -
Riders release; Bombers sign Dominic Picard

Addition by subtraction. That's an old team right across the board. As a collective group the Riders are just about done. -
Ugly or Wonderful ... your gut hunch for 2015

Same gut said 4 burgers was a good idea.... My gut told me to have 4 rum & cokes last night, a bag of chips, chip dip & then finish off a turkey wing & leg while watching a John Wayne DVD (Angel & The Bad Man) at 1 am this morning, Bad gut. Baaaaad gut!!! Ugh!!! just shows how gut is related to judgment Yep. Sometimes what your gut says before & after are quite different. -

I think there's a point after the season where an assistant coach can leave for other opportunities. Or not have his contract renewed. -

Top 10 CIS prospects for 2015 CFL draft
iso_55 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Someone was talking about LeMar Durant declaring for the NFL & CFL drafts but I suddenly can't find the discussion or story. Anyway, he was my son's receiver at SFU & Durant is the real deal. He's been held back the last 2 seasons because of injuries & illness. When he's healthy there aren't many receivers better than him in NCAA D2 football or the CIS. Has size, speed, quickness & great hands. Ottawa needs receivers & he'd be my pick (if I was Desjardins) with the first selection in the CFL draft. But he may try the NFL first so we'll see. -
I don't believe Claybrook's ready. Not his time. He retired as a player less than 3 years ago. Do any of us want to go from a disaster like Etch to a rookie DC with just 3 seasons as a position coach? I don't. He probably could in Calgary because of the all star coaches & players all around him at every position but his inexperience would be exposed with us.

Nothing wrong with being conservative. he helped develop guys like Stevie Baggs & John Chick over the years as well as many National players who flourished under his coaching. It's a great move if it happens. (Fingers crossed). -

Or any other starting qb in the NFL or CFL where they had to work to get there. Not handed a ton of money as a first rounder just to piss away the opportunity. -

Talk about due dilligence... Or a lack thereof. Surely the Browns knew Manziel wasn't a committed football player, played in a system at Texas Tech where he could freelance & extend plays but wouldn't be able to do that in the NFL. That he had a reputation as a party boy. When a team is throwing around tens of millions of dollars you'd think they'd know Manziel cold before they drafted him. Now if they did & drafted him anyway then they deserve to suck as an organization for the next 10 years. The kid's a bust & will be out of the NFL in another year or two. Even if he smartens up & becomes a model professional football player he has too many physical deficiencies in his game to ever be a success long term as a starter. -

Washington is Wally's guy, he isn't going anywhere. But is he Tedford's? Dan has been with Wally for 15 years. As was Chapdelaine & Benevides going back to their days in Calgary. Pretty clear that Tedford is hiring the staff he wants. -
Too bad about Dan as he is an excellent OL coach. I suspect he'll be working somewhere soon. Sort of like Bob Wylie here. He had a great reputation coming in but our OL sucked for the most part last season. Just drives home the fact that even a great position coach needs talent to work with. Coaches IQ's rise & fall with the guys they coach & just how good they are. We all thought our previous OL coach Pat Del Monaco was terrible. Then he went to Calgary & he coached the best OL in the CFL game in & game out. Del Monaco suddenly didn't become a great OL coach overnight. He had talent & great depth to work with on the Stamps. Same with Dorazio. Not much to work with in BC. He took the fall for it.

Everyone seems to really like DeVonne Claybrooks as a DC but he's less than 3 seasons away from being a player. I think he needs to coach DL under Rich Stubler for another few years before he will be ready to be a coordinator. As much as he's an up & comer, I'd be uncomfortable giving a rookie DC a chance. I like Mark Washington in BC. It'll be interesting to see if Jeff Tedford brings him back. -
Bombers make $4.5 million payment on stadium debt
iso_55 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Did you complain that much and consider it a waste when you made your mortgage payments? I'm not complaining. I'm glad they made their payment. But we all know $4.5 million will be extremely difficult to pay back every year. As far as mortgages go, you qualify & then make a either a single monthly or bi weekly payment you can afford based on your income. And your income is based on your bi weekly or monthly paycheques which are the same. Not if the economics of the CFL are working & if people buy tickets to see the team play based on winning vs losing. Or league tv money, concert & advertising revenues. In other words, revenue streams will vary from year to year. As this is the first payment & there are 39 more to go, we have no idea if this is affordable for the team or not. Sellinger put the team into this position like no other in the CFL. Once again, glad they made their payment. Don't read anything else into what I said, please. But if you lose your job and can't get one that pays the same maybe your mortgage isn't affordable anymore. Maybe you're like me and don't get a regular paycheque and instead get paid a daily rate for the amount of days worked. It is the same kind of deal. The Bombers made a commitment based on what they expect their revenues to be just like you and I and everyone else takes out a mortgage based on what they expect they can afford. You really are bitching for the sake of bitching. They made an investment in their stadium which should improve their economics, what's the problem? Other than you just wanting someone to have given the Bombers a handout on the stadium. You're not a communist are you? No, far from communism as I voted Wild Rose last provincial election .I believe in free enterprise as well as less government in our lives & like you, my pay depends on how much I work. I just know there'll be years when making that payment will be difficult for the Bombers. But obviously,I want them to be on time with the payment or we'll have people saying, I told you so. Or calling the team welfare bums if they don't. -
