His injuries started in BC. Wally released him. We took a chance that maybe he had a couple to 3 years of good football left. Didn't work out.It might've if we had a line that could pass block consistently. Buck became a human punching bag for CFL defenses. The other thing to consider is we didn't really know Buck's reads & progressions. He may have still been making the right reads.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. And for George Costanza & his fans... Happy Festivus. Now air those grievances & show off those feats of strength!

Is that why he ate turf so much? Sure, okay. A CFL team will always play a guy who knows nothing about reading coverages out there as the long term starting qb. Ever thought a piss poor offensive line had a lot to do with it? Buck got the **** beat out of him every game because of the pylons blocking in front of him. This year it was so much better for Willy. Oh wait...

When you don't practice Inside Run once during the season there's no excuse. Unbelievable. I knew Etch was bad but I had no idea truly how bad he was. Thing is, where was MOS all this time? is he so blind he couldn't see what was/wasn't going on in practice?? How could he let that kind of thing happen??

We'll be watching... -
Buck played almost a decade in the CFL. He knows how to read defenses.
-
They should have played him more as he deserved it.

Holy ....!!

You are - you usually don't admit it though. LOL!!

I said the same thing you did & was scoffed at as well by the Usual Suspects here. Like I said on another thread, I was vindicated the moment Etcheverry was fired. One of the worst hires we ever had as an organization ever.

Desjardins is an idiot. -
No offensive system (no matter how good it is) works without a solid offensive line. That's the problem in Winnipeg. Our OL is terrible & has been for years. We won't get better as an offensive team until that particular unit improves greatly.

Well, North Korea's one computer was down yesterday. So, naturally they took to their telegraph lines & rotary phones to keep in touch . It's rumoured that North Korean spies have infiltrated America's libraries in order to find out how to modernize their communications system. They are particularly interested in the Pony Express.

First, I am a wrestling fan. I admire the athleticism of most of the wrestlers in pro wrestling no matter of it's ROH, TNA & WWE. But there's no way they put up with the punishment that the UFC fighters do when they're in the ring. Having said that, the 2 wrestlers on that ladder that fell thru the table was hellacious.

Lol you are comparing them as though you stepped into either tomorrow? Because if you put in the required trading for both then your statement would be different. And without the required training no you could not be a wrestler tomorrow. I don't have to train to know the difference. Okay, so WHY.... does the WWE call itself that with the word ENTERTAINMENT at the end of its name? Because that's what it is. Entertainment. Not a sport. The outcomes are scripted. The wrestlers in the ring communicate what next move should be done between them. Guys get hurt, yes but they try not to have that happen. Bumps occur but mostly accidental. In MMA guys are trying to knock each other out or submit. No wrestler gets hit like UFC fighters do when they're on the mat being pummeled by punches or elbow shots. Sorry but there's no comparison between what happens in UFC & WWE. You're not honestly going to tell me you can get in the ring and wrestle tomorrow and dont need to train to understand what goes into it are you? You think you know wrestling. You're telling me how wrestling works...dude, Im in the wrestling business. I didn't say I could wrestle or fight in UFC. What has that got to do with anything? I never said anything like that. So, you deny that wrestling isn't scripted? That the wrestlers don't communicate what moves they want each other to do as a match goes along? I've been watching wrestling my entire life. I may not be an insider like you but I know what goes on. You can actually see the wrestlers talking as they wrestle. It's entertainment, not a sport. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvsmWnwaN4M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGGYCF1mhqQ

This guy thinks FA will fix everything when it won't. You have to also draft & trade well. I know that Desjardins will overpay for any player he truly wants as that is his MO. -
Okay IC. Just sayin'. I think bringing Marcel back isn't the end of the world. Bringing Etch back would have been a huge mistake. It would have been nice to have Cortez but I just couldn't see him co existing with MOS as he wouldn't fit the kind of coaches we have here now. George is a bit crusty. Besides, I expect Cortez to resurface with Tedford in BC. Etch being gone will improve our defense immensely. Just that alone may be worth three extra wins next season.
-
He'll end up in TO or Montreal I'd expect. If he leaves Hamilton. The guy is an average receiver with an above average physique. Man love from Rod Black.

This. KJ could read a defense really well, hence why we think he's got what it takes to be a good coach. I think he just needs a lot more experience under his belt. Head coach, probably, but offensive coach not. I love how some of you will give MB a million chances to prove that he has something no matter how many times he's shown he's very mediocre, but KJ get's a couple of shots and is deemed a crappy OC, yet his record is almost the same so far. You guys blow me away with the way you think. Did you not read that MOS is probably bringing back Marcel? How does that change your opinion of MOS instead of dumping on us? In other words, go complain to the HC & not us.
-
In order to be a HC in the CFL he has to really excel as an OC. That hasn't happened... yet. That being said, I'd still like him here.
-
I'd like Mike Benevides here if only because he'd be motivated to stick it up Wally's you know what.

I think the next jersey I get with the retro look will be #14 to honour the late D i c k Thornton. He may have ended his career with the Argos & left here under bitter circumstances at the time but wow, what a player Thornton was who had his best body of work in Blue & Gold colours during the early to mid 60's.
