Another day with no word on the status of the assistant coaches. Guys are out there available that would be upgrades to who we have now. Usually when head coaches are fired the assistants go with them. So, I'd say Mark Washington & KJ are available as is George Cortez. I don't think the wheels are turning slowly with the Bombers. I think they're stuck in a snowdrift. The wheels are spinning but the team is going nowhere.

Well, it'll be interesting to see what happens. Who knows, maybe a guy like Greg Marshall at Western may decide it's time for a change. Doubt it but you never know. A week a go, I'd have said you're crazy if someone had suggested Nill would be the new HC at UBC. So stranger things have happened.

Burratto's problem is his age. I think he's nearly 70 or just past it. Be hard for a guy that age to take over & run a CIS program. Plus does he live in Calgary full time or just during the season? I think he lives in Arizona if I am correct. And Nill was a master recruiter. I don't know if Steve can fill those shoes. Being able to sell the Dinos to kids all over the country, especially Alberta where local Southern AB players do attend U of A, Regina & U of S.

Not sticking up for Banks here but its a good idea to look at it from both ways.... Sure Leggett and Anderson re-upped and may have no prob with Etch. Maybe they had no questions and just followed along. But Banks as a leader and vet may have felt he had questions about things that maybe rookies might of asked him and he wanted to have answers and help. Guys can't ask questions? C'mon. This is Gary Etcheverry. A man who has been fired from virtually every job he's had as a football coach in Canada. He couldn't even hold a job as a CIS coach at Carleton. He was insisting on running the Double Wing offense. I ran that in bantam football here in Calgary. It's 95% run & the OL has no splits. It's a great bantam & high school offense but that's it. It's not designed to be used at the CIS level. Google Double Wing if you don't know what it is. The players rebelled & had him fired. They were all going to quit. Now we're stuck with him.

Rids, do you see the Dinos raiding any CIS teams to replace Blake Nill? If so, who do you think might want to make the jump? I have a feeling the U of C will hire a coach with a winning track record instead of handing the program over to one of Nill's assistants. What's your thoughts?

Give Etch their DL to work with and our D would have looked much better. Except Etch doesn't want big guys. He wants small versatile guys, so he wouldn't even want them. Our lines were virtually the same size. Chick is 250, Foley 256, & George is 277 at DT. That's almost identical size to Peach, Vega, & Bryant. What do your linebackers weigh?

Punk has always been a bit of a lone wolf. He didn't feel the WWE was pushing his career in the right direction so he quit. I think he knows now his future in pro wrestling lies in ROH or TNA if he comes back. Especially if Vince is out of the picture.
