I think you have to Jacquie in their situation if it is presented. Hank will be 41 next year. He's not just the present but the past as well. So, they will have to upgrade the position sooner rather than later. I don't think there's even a 2 year window for Ottawa to do that at qb. Who knows, Tate may never get injured again, right? At 30, he may have a number of good seasons left. One thing I do know for sure is that Tate will never be the starting qb long term ever again in Calgary & he knows it too.

To save on money & if Huff thinks the backup is ready to actually play. The other thing is loyalty. Tate may be a wingnut at times but he's been a loyal soldier & I believe that Huff would accomodate him if he requested a trade. Besides, to get another quality Canadian player with the #1 draft pick, with Huff's rep as a great drafter I think it would benefit both teams. Like I said, just a hunch.

I've had more years of frustration than you, Noeller. The losing becomes ingrained in your psyche after awhile. I saw the ugly late 60's & brutal early to mid 70's. You may have just saw the mid 90's under Reinbold which is bad enough but throw in the Zaleski era, the late Jim Spavital era & early Bud Riley era ike I experienced & you may feel differently. I may never see another Blue Bomber Grey Cup championship team in my lifetime & I was 35 when they won the last one. I figured it was going to be the continuation of a great run started by Kindly Cal in 1984 & we'd be celebrating five or 6 more wins by now.

Popp never gave him much to work with at qb. The guy is a very good coach but he needs players just like Vince Lombard or Bill Belichek.

In Alberta you get every Flames and Oilers game, it makes sense right? They're the local teams and as long as the NHL is doing regional broadcasts that won't change. Yep. You're right but it's torture. Actually I'll sit back & watch a Flames game but the Oilers? Bleh?

There's no way Tate fetches that kind of return. The max Tate gets you is the same first BC gave up for Glenn. Look what Marcel Desjardins paid for Hank. Just to keep him out of our hands. No way he was worth what he was paid. And he did that with Casey Printers as well when he was Ti Cats GM. Big contract no return. So there is a history of overpaying (panicking) with Desjardins. Nothing he does would surprise me.

Frustration more than anything, Noeller... Just seems like more of the same. If I saw this team losing but improving I'd feel different as there'd be hope for the future. I just get a sense that by game 9 next season the death watch will be on like it was in 2013. I know this is a negative post but we've all seen this before. And truly, truly I hope I'm wrong. Look on the bright side, I'm not advocating any firings just yet.

I'm just numb as a fan. We were puffing our chests out earlier this year when we had 5 wins thinking this team may be on its way to great things finally & now??? It's the same old crap we put up with before. I don't care if they lose today as the season is done. I'm angry at Miller & Walters for a lot of things. Lots of big talk & promises were made to us & it turns out to be nothing but lip service which we bought into hook, line & sinker. And MOS came in here with a huge chip on his shoulder acting like he had all the answers. I'm beginning to think the rookie triumvirate aren't any better than the regime they replaced. Our OL is as bad as I've ever seen it. They can't seem to fix it. I'm tired of hearing 'it'll take years" when I see other teams having success. Our International recruiting hasn't brought us enough quality players. We're back to having no respect across the league. We are the league doormats. Ottawa with 2 wins has more respect than us. I'm not advocating firing anyone... YET. I'll give these 3 big talkers until LD 2015 before I start screaming for heads to roll. They deserve one more off season to see if they can right this team & half of next season.

I have Shaw Cable here in Calgary. I have all 5 channels. Checked it just now.

I saw the Ottawa-Hamilton game but living in Calgary I saw no Jets game. But man do we see the ******* craptacular Oilers. Every bloody game.

I also think Huff would part with Drew Tate for the CFL first pick in the draft next May as well as a starter or two to help solidify either a need or depth. Stay tuned once the off season starts.
