Just a hunch but I believe Drew Tate will be traded this of season. Matt Nicholls in Edmonton may also be available. One of those 2 will be going to Ottawa. I could see Desjardins in Ottawa cutting Hank & his big salary if he could get one of those guys, especially Tate.
-
But if he has a great game and the Bombers win, does he start again next week, even if Willy is healthy? Nope. MOS will go back to Willy as he should. There won't be a qb controversy.

I actually thought i heard his name thrown around in the off-season, not sure if it was someone on the fan board here or if it was in the paper and it turned out he didn't want to leave regina because he has a good thing going there. With that being said tho, I suppose if he wanted to become a DC, that would be a promotion for him, so i suppose technically the riders would probably let him take the DC role here, if it was offered to him and he wanted it. I'm really under the impression though that he doesn't want to be a DC at this time. Yes Miles name was thrown around this past offseason as a potential DC but then he signed a 2 year extension. He can leave during the off season. Chamblin wouldn't stand in his way.

Six or is it seven(?) game losing streak. The team is putrid right now. Other than a handful of players no one should be safe. .

I'll give you 3. DeVone Claybrooks is the DL coach with the Stamps & Huff was going to promote him to DC as he thought he was ready until Rich Stubler became available. Tony Missick is the linebacker coach here in Calgary & from all accounts may be ready for a DC position. He has NCAA & CFL experience. Barron Miles in Saskatchewan is supposed to be a very good coach & may be ready to step up to DC.

Is it necessary to hire coordinators with CFL experience?

wasn't milanovich the qb coach when he started in montreal, and trestman promoted him when he came in? Yes, he was never an OC before. -
Typical as Grigsby screwed us but we'll be the nice guys & let him sign elsewhere. Where's the logic in that? It's almost like the Bombers didn't know about the trade deadline as it makes no sense. Meanwhile, in Montreal they put the screws to Troy Smith who from everything I heard was a model player & great teammate. His only sin? Not playing well enough to stick around. Doesn't seem fair, does it?

STILL no reason to keep Etcheverry. There are qualified coaches that could do a job here... Not a fan. Won't change because of stats.
-
The guy's a friggin' loser & a quitter. Good riddance.
-
Why are people so shocked Smith was released? He has major issues throwing the football. He has mechanical & fundamental issues with accuracy because quite frankly he can't hit the broad side of a barn from 30 metres away. I also think he had issues reading CFL defenses. Great athlete, sure but not a great qb. That athleticism got him by NFL & CFL teams & probably extended his career by half a decade. It's over now.

Statistics are for losers.

Stupid sense of entitlement.

I'd like to see Wylie back but only if he gives the Bombers a full time commitment. No American OL high school skill camps after June 1st. If he won't commit to full time then release him & find someone else. We can't afford to have him missing while he does one of these camps.
-
I'm on that list. So disappointing he was offered the job. And it's turned out exactly the way I thought it would. Etch is a square peg kind of coach who tries to fit his defense with round ones.
-
There's really only two Bombers boards. The third is irrelevant.

January has been horrific this year and has zero trade value at this point in time. I don't think he's even been close to horrific. Others have but not him.
-
Willy may not play. Brohm will have to play an entire game which will be a different situation for him than last week.
-
January would have value but he's one guy we need to keep around. The only guys on the OL I want back next year are January, Greaves & Goosen. Neufeld is always hurt so if he comes back that's okay. If he doesn't who cares? No big loss.
-
You ever listen to Irving on the pre-game shows? Tossing puffball questions to different members of the coaching staff was his bread and butter until this year. Bob is a fan no question. But Knuckles is still great.
-
I can't agree with what he did either but just the other day O'Shea scoffed at changes because he was trying to build something and not tear it down. There were better ways to handle this situation than having a player quit on you because of playing time, time which he had earned throughout the season. There is a big difference between losing your job to the next guy because he out performed you then to lose it for really no reason at all. Both players could and should have been on the roster splitting touches and may the best man win. Just very bush league that it even had to come to this. And there are guys who would accept the demotion, continue to work hard, be positive & do whatever it takes to help their team win.Maybe they're not happy but they are true professionals. Not quit with 3 games left & still with a chance to make the playoffs. The guy is a selfish loser. Glad he's gone. We had a whole team of these guys last year.

Rumours that Cornish won't play against Winnipeg. He missed practice today with the flu & the Stamps may want to give him another week to rest his knee to make sure it's totally fine for the final few games & GC run.
-
Been saying this all day.... Winners never quit & quitters never win.

What on earth does one have to do with the other? I thought that the Bombers were trying to shake things up by showing the players no one is safe when they lose & that losing is unacceptable. Instead it was Grigsby who chose to leave. Why do I say Country Club? Because MOS appears to not want to hold players accountable. Why else would someone with a pea size brain like Eljiro Kuale remain on this team?
-
And here I thought the Blue Bomber Country Club was going to get shook up by MOS demanding accountability. Instead it's Grigsby who left. He wanted to go.
-
If he loved his teammates so much he would have stuck it out & not quit.
