A few days ago I was posting just how bad a DC Etch is & how I want him gone. He was being defended by more than a few here saying that his defense saved games for us & kept us in others. It wasn't the defense, the posters said that was a problem. It was the offense. Well, we travel to Ottawa lose embarrassingly to the worst team in the CFL & a couple of our major problems was the inability to tackle & stop the run which has been the way it's been defensively all season. I want Etch gone but I'm getting the impression that MOS will stubbornly go down with his coaches before he fires any of them so we're stuck with this guy for the long term. Yeah, I agree. I think he's going to stick with the same coaches as well, which may be his downfall unless they somehow surprise us. The problem with Etch is his defense is on and off. Never consistent. And his run defense is almost always terrible. Our defensive line almost across the board is outweighed by at least 60 lbs to a man. We have small linebackers so we get pushed back. Bad combination right there. The hell with speed if you get pushed back & aren't physical &/0r strong enough to tackle. This defense sucks. Etch has to go.

MLB Phil Minnick played in the 1965 Grey Cup & was as good or better than some of the famous linebackers of his day like BC's Tom Brown, Jerry Campbell of the Rough Riders & Stamps Wayne Harris. The problem was the Bombers tanked for a number of years after the '66 season & he played on a bad defence on a bad team after. Then he suffered some injuries which slowed him down after the 1969 season. He actually took 2 seasons off after the 1970 season to recover from a knee injury but he came back a couple of years later to play for the Bombers the entire 72 & 73 seasons at OLB before finally retiring. Had he played on a great team like Harris & Campbell did their entire careers then he'd be a lot better known. He was a force on defense at linebacker & may have been our best player during the 69 & 70 season.

How can it bring animosity? It's within the rules. Any GM who gets upset about losing a player of the PR can go shove it. Walters has been standing pat with this roster & there are players available who could help us like OL Billy Peach & long snapper Randy Chevrier both from the Stamps.

It sounds painful whatever it is. I've had 4 foot & ankle surgeries since 2011 & recovery time is brutal. Like 6-9 months each time. Off my feet for a couple of months at a time. Wish Harris well & that when he comes back he hasn't lost a step or two.

They're going to rush him back & he'll play like a guy still injured or get hurt again.

him and Doege were sharing a laugh after so I don't think he tore his head off. He totally exposed Smith to that hit & subsequent injury. One of the things a good qb does is not make the kind of a throw that could get his receiver hurt. Glad he & Cortez think it's funny. Especially after Doege & Sunseri looked so bad. Yuk, yuk, yuk.

I said here somewhere on a thread after the Riders 24-0 loss that I bet magically Darian Durant will start healing faster than expected. I wasn't wrong. They're panicking because they have no depth & 2 crappy qbs backing Durant up.

Sorry to see Harris go down. Hopefully this isn't an injury that has lasting implications. Seth Doege set Smith up to get killed & he literally was. If I was George Cortez I'd tear his head off. Broken clavicle isn't the worst injury a football player can get but it's still serious.

The refs are choking teams with their calls. They have to back off. It started this season with increased vigilence on hitting qbs & now its morphed to a penalty call on just about every play. It's gotta stop.
