Free Press (Fan Vote) Picking All-Time Blue Bomber Greats

I remember Eugene Goodlow (spelling?) as a standout receiver that Brock threw to in the early 80's. If I remember correctly he broke his neck in a game against Calgary, and it was the last game he played for Winnipeg as he went to the NFL in the off-season. Goodlow became the first player in CFL history to reach 100 receptions in a season during the 1981 season. Then unfortunately, he broke his neck in Montreal. Missed nearly the entire 82 season. Nope - you missed it. bb king got it right. I forgot all about Eugene. Check it now as again going by memory but it was early in the second quarter - Goodlow already had 7 catches for over 100 yards and three (yes three) Touchdowns. But then on the 8th - he was sandwiched - but his head down when the Calgary safety (game was in Calgary) hit him head to head and compressed his vertebrae. He went to the NFL and the New Orleans Saints the next year where he spent two or three seasons as a third receiver. I'm sure he came back here though to finish his career and it might of been in Montreal as a player but he never reached that level again. That season he caught everything Brock threw him. How could I forget Goodlow He played 6 seasons in the NFL with the Saints & then came back briefly to the CFL in 1989 where he just played a couple of games. I think with the Ti Cats. -
There's more to this than road rage, I believe.

I certainly don't remember Rigney but Walby was as big, nasty, and good as any I can remember. That's the problem with these fan votes. Deserving players will get left off the list because younger fans never saw them play. I was lucky that I did albeit I was very young. I do know that Rigney was a great left tackle who dominated for a decade & the 2 guards Cornel Piper & Ed Kotowich were outstanding. That was the Bombers strength back in the late 50's to the mid 60's. Their offensive line. Bud Grant built just an unbelievaable offensive line to anchor that team. I'm convinced that Piper & Kotowich could have played & started for Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers & ran that Green Bay sweep "Up the alley" as Lombardi liked to say as well as Fuzzy Thurston & Roger Kraemer did for the Packers. -
Not for Long Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming · 1h Willy's second rep, an INT by Johnny Sears on a 25-yard wobbler over the middle — stretches and shakes his shoulder afterwards. Brohm in now That may be a blessing in disguise.

Don't rush him back. I'd like him to at least wait another week. -
This sounds almost like Chris Benoit. Did Bironas have a history of concussions even though he was a kicker? Looks like he literally lost his mind.

Ploen is the qb voted on by fans. As far as OL goes, I picked Frank Rigney over Chris Walby. I assume Walby will get a lot of votes just because younger fans will know him better than the others. Rigney was a great player. He & Cornell Piper on that line leading a sweep just like Jerry Kraemer & Fuzzy Thurston in Green Bay. Rigney was dominant & a big reason why Leo Lewis had such huge games for the Bombers running the ball & Ploen passing. He's my pick. Surprised Bill Frank wasn't on that list. -
Crap.... (Shaking my head)...

Married to Bradshaw's daughter. Was Terry doing Fox football on Sunday? I was busy & missed the entire schedule yesterday.

Now it's Adrian Peterson alleged beating of a child

Demons? I don't think it was demons. He was probably raised that way when it came to discipline. Demons, no. Stupid, yes. -
The Hamilton Tiger Cats say NO If Riders continue to scheme to get receivers wide open, offer good protection and sloppy tackling from opposition Sunseri will be just fine. C'mon man! Give the kid some credit for getting it done. When he plays a real defense we will. But Ottawa??? They absolutely stink.

Reports out of Minnesota that AP is not taking ownership of what he did & feels betrayed. And that he has played his last game as a Viking as they're going to trade him. Whoa. -
We get that you hate Hank but don't let your judgement be clouded to the point where you think Elliott is better than him because he's not. Joey's signing was pure desperation by Desjardins & that will be the only reason he plays... desperation.
-
You mean, he's a 280 lb DT & not a 180 lb defensive back Etch wants playing on the DL? Well, wonders never cease.
-
That INT in overtime was beyond belief. For a guy in the league for that long...yikes. Then the sack.
-
We already know what Elliott's got. Nothing. Could of said the same thing about Calvillo at this point in his career. So far I've seen way more good in Elliott than bad, he just got shafted by having to work with morons here. You honestly in all seriousness aren't comparing Elliott to Calvillo???????? Man, it seems that you actually are.

Hank is such a dumb quarterback.
