  1. Coom by ya, 17. Coom by ya...
  2. Don't worry Duressler just keep carrying on. The longer you're here the more respect you'll get. This isn't an easy board for other fans of teams especially the Riders to coexist on. Not a lot of high 5's here. You're doing fine.
  3. There are lots of old school thinkers in high places in not only football but baseball, basketball & hockey.
  4. Dad never cheered for any other teams. Kind of ridiculous to say that he bandwagoned. you really need to calm down and learn how to handle **** like this, man alive, you are so uptight and oblivious to the total lack of seriousness that goes on around here sometimes. If Duressler is only 14 & not 41 then maybe he needs to learn not to be so serious as well. It's an acquired thing. I've lost my mind here on a few occasions myself & I've been around these forums since 2000.
  5. I have always hated the Oilers & always will. Living in Calgary & Winnipeg does that to a person. Those guys like Hall, Eberle & Nugent-Hopkins better start winning some games.
  6. Time to give my AP jersey to Value Village, I think.
  7. I just see a story on McGill.
  8. How can someone in Regina or Saskatchewan be an NHL bandwagon jumper when that province doesn't have a team?
  9. When the Jets moved to Phoenix after the 1996 season, I stopped following the NHL. I was very bitter & I don't think in 15 years I sat down & watched an entire game, regular season or playoffs once in that time on television. I just couldn't become a Flames fan even though I lived here. For the most part the team sucked anyway so it was easy not to like them. It's the Winnipeg Jets for me or nothing. I'm back to watching the NHL again. Before the Jets went into the NHL with the merger with the WHA in 1979, I did cheer for the Canadiens & Bruins. They were my favourite NHL teams back in the day. Now I don't care about them. I can't stand PK Suban. However, if there was a team I'd now cheer distantly second for behind the Jets that would be the Blackhawks.
  10. I'd take Bradshaw in his prime on my team any day.
  11. Played 4 games this year & was off for 6. How can things be accumulating? He said it was his decision. I don't understand this.
  12. I'm sure you meant Terry Bradshaw.
  13. I have no idea what happened? Stay tuned.
  14. His arm strength was insane. As much as I like Dieter & I have his jersey, he never won a championship anywhere as a pro. Would anyone say Fran Tarkenton was better than Joe Montana? They both played in four Super Bowls. One won 4 & the other lost 4. Or in the CFL, Sam Etcheverry lost 3 Grey Cups in a row to Jackie Parker & the Eskimos in 54, 55 & 56. Etch had a great arm too but who cares? It's championships a qb should be judged upon. Ploen was the best. BTW, a great percentage of fans back in the 70's & early 80's thought Brock was a "dumb quarterback". Brock left here very disillusioned & unhappy. I never thought that he'd ever want to come back or be associated with the Bombers, Winnipeg & especially the fans as they rode the poor guy very, very hard when he was a starter. For a lot, he could do no right. What you are saying is very true. Brock never delivered the cup to the bombers, however likely he wasn't totally to blame for that. For the period 1980-82 he threw 88 td passes and had 13342 yards passing, by anyone's standards that is simply awesome especially considering they only played 16 games in those years. Fran Tarkenton threw for 49,000 yards & got the Vikings to 4 Super Bowls. He was an outstanding scrambler with a great arm & at one time led the NFL in passing for nearly 15 years but he is never mentioned as one of the all time greats. He is considered a second tier qb because he lost 4 Super Bowls. Same with Jim Kelly in Buffalo. Lost all 4 Super Bowls he played. So, he's another very good second tier NFL qb which for both players is unfair & undeserving but that's the way it is, unfortunately. John Elway was considered a failure at qb because he lost the first 2 Super Bowls he played in but is now considered one of the greats as he won back to back Super Bowls before retiring. Winning championships is where it's at. Ken Ploen did that for the Bombers. He delivered the goods. When it comes to rating all time greats, just having great stats really isn't enough. Great qbs have to have won not one but multiple championships.
  15. Technicalities. He was a Bomber & he was allowed to leave a free agent.
  16. Media here in Calgary with breaking news... Cornish out for the game in Montreal. Not even travelling with the team. That's all we know here. "Details to follow" said one tweet.

  18. Ken Ploen without a doubt. I voted for him.
  19. He was indicted for child abuse & a warrant issued for his arrest. Peterson turned himself in. The NFL has a lot of problems they're going to have to address. They are a microcosm of society with one addendum. The majority of players are black. A lot come from single family homes with no father in economically depressed areas. A lot of these players were poor growing up, & had no male role models. The ones that did weren't the best. So, you get what you get. The Charles Barkley interview I saw was probably bang on but the deniers are everywhere. How do you legislate & change a lifetime of behaviour by players? The politicians in the US don't seem to care about poverty, crime, murder, gangs & drugs in the US & it's suddenly been thrown in Roger Goodell's lap to handle. Well, other than lifetime suspensions, good luck with that.
  20. Oooops accidental post during my usual lurking! So, now you've outed yourself. Appreciate the opinion.
  21. Wylie would work with Bellefeuille on the blocking schemes. Going over the plays he'd have input into what works & what doesn't. However, I think Marcel already has a pretty good handle on how the blocking schemes should go. Logan, it comes down to one thing & one thing only. Talent. If you have an OL that sucks at the pro level, chances are it's the players who suck. We've done a terrible job drafting along the line the last 3-5 years. Calgary has done a phenomenal job. We let our 2 beat OL go to Saskatchewan. We haven't recovered from that blow. Like a dagger in the heart.
  22. I think it's been cancelled. That 3 foot Amish guy was badass.
  23. Is there a Hutterite Mafia similar to the one we saw with that Amish program that I'm assuming has been cancelled? Where colonists go to have their problems solved? That was a strange show.
  24. Not a good enough excuse. Look at the lack of continuity in Calgary's line. They keep shuffling guys in & out of their line up every game on their OL because of injury problems too yet they don't miss a beat offensively. The guys that back up the starters in Calgary & have been pressed into action could start all here & play well. We'd have a very good OL.
