  1. Might need surgery.
  2. In other words MOS has to stop thinking like a defensive coach & make sure his qb is protected at all time. Every team I've been with & the pro practices I have seen let the qb throw the football & never lay a hand on the guy or come close enough to touch him. Even if the qb is "sacked" on a play when they scrimmage. In other words, when it's obvious protection broke down & in a game the qb would have been sacked he still throws the pass & finishes the play. I know defensive coaches & players have a different perspective on the game from their offensive counterparts & have their motors running all the time but they can't hurt their qb in practice. Part of the process of learning on the job for MOS. From what I understand, Willy hit his hand on a helmet during his follow-through, the defender didn't actually hit him in any way. Unamba got too close. Never should have happened. Guys are expected to play at full speed during practice. Willy's follow through would probably extend his arm a couple of feet in front of him. If whomever it was that was trying to block Unamba couldn't hold him up, Unamba's momentum could have easily carried him into that radius. It's not about playing "too close". It was a freak accident. If we want to make sure the QB is protected at all times from everything during practice, he needs to be playing in a bubble. Which would make it very hard to throw the ball to anyone. Noeller, they don't play at full speed in practice. Defensive players especially are told to stay away from the qb & let him finish his throws. They don't hit at full speed. Usually half speed or what's called thud. Guys don't tackle hard, they wrap. Not to say that there isn't any hitting out there but it's controlled to prevent injuries. Team time or scrimmage is the time to work on timing & refining the plays offensively against the defense simulating the opposition defense they'll be facing in their next game. Qbs wear the red jersey which means STOP!! If you want to shorten your career as a defensive player just go hurt your qb with a big hit & watch the head coach give you an airline ticket out of town on the first flight.

  4. Reebok sucks.
  5. I bet the NFL paid Braley under the table to let those guys go. Slap in the face to the Argo fans...
  6. Those cold Saskatchewan winter nights out on the farm...

  8. The NFL has always been about thuganomics though as a large number of players come from impoverished gang infested neighbourhoods & single parent families where the dad was never around & if he was he wasn't much of a role model. These guys saw violence their entire life. Some have broken out totally free & made a great life for themselves & family. Others, well the hood never leaves them no matter how much money they make. Had a conversation 2 years ago with a teammate of my son on his junior college team in California. The kid was from Oakland & we struck up a conversation during practice as he was injured & out for the year. He told me about his upbringing & the life he had growing up. It was unreal. You just don't hear about those things here in Canada. Two stories stood out for me. One was his having to cross two gang territories on his way to school & how **** scared he was everyday for his life. The other his phys ed teacher was being mouthed off by a kid in his class. The phys ed teacher took the kid into the phys ed office where he kicked the living daylights out of the 15 year old & nothing was done to the teacher. Boy was afraid to tell anyone about what his teacher did. They all were. They were afraid of the teacher as he came from the neighbourhood as well.
  9. So was Goltz. Division 3, versus division 1, 2nd round NFL draft pick. Hell, even on TSN last year they were saying there were reports from Bomber camp that Goltz was STILL reading defences at a division 3 level. Apples and oranges. 2nd round draft pick who lost his job to a 7th rounder. You have to be outstandingly bad for that to happen in the NFL. Or the infallible scouting system of the NFL had a brain cramp. Hey, who would've thought Tom Brady would have the career he's had?
  10. Stupid is as stupid does. Hello, Brandon Browner & Josh Gordon. You're only fooling with millions of dollars in lost salary or even your careers when you both already know the score... idiots.
  11. Willy has had a few close calls this season and he always bounces back healthy. A nice contrast compared to Buck the last few years. We will only know for sure on Willy when practice starts tomorrow. In practice, defenses are supposed to let the qb throw & see his passing lanes. Basically don't go near the qb. This is on Unamba if he's out.
  12. So was Goltz. Talk about running on faith....
  13. I expect MOS to say what he did. I just hope his words are true.
  14. That's one tough customer you don't want to screw around with. He'll show you what's up pretty quick, especially when it comes to banned substances. Hard to feel sorry for multiple offenders like Gordon & Brandon Browner when they know the rules & that they'll be tested more often on & off season because they are repeat offenders. Rules are rules in the NFL. Ya don't mess with Roger.
  15. Garth Rizutto may be able to play in a 34 team NHL. Maybe Fran Huck. He could skate.
  16. I'm hopeful next season we bring in a veteran qb who can actually play if Willy got hurt & isn't a big ? like Brohm. You need a quality backup in this league as it is an 18 game season.
  17. Rules are rules, stupid or not. They know it so not a lot of sympathy from me if they break them. Players want to mess with Roger Goodell they'll get suspended.
  18. Funny how clubs seem flush with money. Is that because they signed most if not all their players before the cap & now suddenly there's room?
  19. I think Marcel Desjardins was fired in Hamilton for a number of reasons... One of them was overspending on contracts by overpaying certain players. He's doing the same thing now. He's already escalated salariesat the qb position by being financially irresponsible. I agree that at some point he will have crippled this team because of the high salaries they are carrying. The only reason I believe Desjardins was hired in Ottawa was because he is billingual & ownership felt that he would appeal to the French Canadian fans there in Quebec close by. I can't believe he was their best option to run the team.
  20. Rider fans are going to hate this... Glen Suitor was on Sports Talk on 770 CHQR AM radio here in Calgary just now. He was being interviewed & was asked about Weston Dressler & he dropped a bombshell. He said his sources told him that not only has he been offered a contract that will pay him $250,000 in 2015 But will also pay him a full $250,000 for the entire season THIS YEAR... not a pro rated amount. Put that in perspective & that's $175,000 more than the Riders have offered which is rumoured to be $200,000 in 2015 & pro rated for nine games this season. Probably also both teams have offered healthy signing bonuses as well. Suitor says that this deal is really going to throw the salary structure for receivers out of whack. Desjardins already has raised what the best CFL qbs are making now thanks to the Burris deal.
  21. Why anyone especially a Bomber fan want to post at Rider Fans is beyond me. Best to stay away & let the fan base copulate with themselves over there. gbill and Mike post there . I know. That's the last place I'd ever post. The gang mentality as well as the hatred by a lot of the fans to anyone from another team is that site's big downfall. I used to post there a lot in the beginning when Chaps was the owner. But Rider Fan In Calgary owns it now & I really saw a change in the way people (other teams fans) are treated. I haven't posted there probably since 2006 or 7. And I never will again. I know Nate is over there posting away as as **** disturber & maybe that's the best place for him. All Nate really does over there is criticize the Bombers. I like Nate but if that is all he does then he can stay there.

  24. Rider fans are the ones who act superior & think they're better than any other fanbase. The arrogance is nauseating.
