  1. Actor Tim Williams, television pitch man for Trivago is going to lose his dishvelled look. Apparently, our complaints & negative comments on social media about how bad &/or creepy he looks wearing dirty jeans, shirt too big, unshaven & no belt has been heard. Trivago is launching a contest asking people to make fashion suggestions. Now, if we can only get Wendy's to stop killing us slowly with #pretzellovesongs, it'll all be good. http://www.thespec.com/living-story/4767229-grubby-trivago-guy-to-get-much-needed-makeover/
  2. Stamps should just dump the black helmets & go with those.
  3. Did Pall kick your dog or something? We're talking about bringing him in for a couple practices not making him captain of the team. Why are you taking what I say so personally? I think you're overreacting. Whether he comes here or not isn't a big deal. I'm trying to give you an opinion on the guy based on my own observations & that's all so why get so upset? I said I saw Ameet Pall at Stamps camp as a rookie & he showed that he can't play. I'm someone who actually went to training camp that year to see how he was doing & followed him during the exhibition season in 2012 because he was the Stamps first round pick. Pall showed very little in training camp & the exhibition season that year. He started off training camp fairly strong but his performance dipped everyday as camp went along. Instead of improving he started to regress & the way the Stamps OL dominated him as camp went on was pretty evident. Pall only had a couple of moves & once the hoggies figured him out he couldn't compete. He physically wasn't strong enough to beat any of the Stamps offensive linemen. When he played in the pre season that season he didn't show much of anything. Then he got injured & was put on the PR. Pall's done nothing since to change my mind as he hasn't played much, if at all in Montreal. Sure the Bombers can bring him in for a look see but that still costs the team money & he has to be paid when he's here. I don't think you build good teams based on quantity as in a "What have we got to lose?" mentality. You build them on quality. Why bring in a non descript National DL who hasn't stuck on 2 teams & was a first round draft bust? How can he help us? Hasn't even proven he's a decent depth player or special teamer. Maybe Walters brings him in & maybe he doesn't. Maybe third time lucky is a charm for Pall. Maybe it isn't.
  4. Michael Lysko basically told Braley, Wettenhall & Asper to go shove it over playing games the following weekend after 9/11. He didn't think playing the games was the right thing to do while those 3 thought it was. Glad Lysko won out but Braley made sure he was gone as soon as he possibly could. Controlling 2 teams gives him unprecedented power over the BOGs & the Office of the Commissioner.
  5. With Pall, no reason to think he'd break the mold.
  6. Bearpants & Floyd, he's not good enough. He got released mid season in his 3rd season as a player. He's never started. He's not even a good ST player or he'd have stuck around in Montreal. Why would he even be worth a look? Time & time again, players that get released at this point in their career have reached their potential. It may not do any harm to look but it seems like a waste of time.
  7. I saw Pall at Stamps training camp in 2011. He was getting killed in drills. He couldn't beat the man in front of him in one on ones. He got pushed back time & time again. He never beat the guy in front of him. He just got beat. During the exhibition season he seemed invisible in games. Wasn't impressive at all. One of the worst draft picks Huff ever made. Pall was put on the Stamps PR because of an injury & eventually ended up in Montreal later that year where as far as I know, didn't do much in the seasons after he got there.
  8. As a Commish, Cohon was a great PR man. The CFL Commissioner has to be able to operate separately from the Board of Governors & he doesn't. He has to have autonomy to make tough decisions but can't because of it.
  9. Non-Importants? Hey Floyd, this from an Als fan & season ticket holder.
  10. redblacks looks like a toque.
  11. I feel the same way. However, I'll take it a little bit further. Mark Cohon's a smiling figure head. Cohon has no power unlike Roger Goodell. It'll be the same with whoever takes his place. The guy that runs this league is David Braley. What Braley says, goes. Cohon & every Commissioner before him has been his puppet. There's a reason why CFL Commisioners seem to come & go with regularity. The sooner he sells his 2 teams & leaves, the better off the CFL will be.
  12. Did nothing with 2 prior teams. Never played a down as a Stampeder. Quit the Stamps as a PR player to go home to Montreal where he joined the Alouettes. In 3 years, was he even on the active roster as an Als player? I know he never played on the DL in games when he was there. Did he at least play ST's? If not then why would we want a guy who isn't good enough?
  13. What's that based on? Just curious. He hates the french. What? Now that's just confusing. Think Paris, iso. Ooookay
  14. It looks nice. But we'll see about the rest of the look.
  15. Manziel will never be a long term starter in the NFL. He'll get his chance but he'll blow himself up. Just like Tim Couch.
  16. Bannon okayed these? You'd think it would have gone right to the top for something like this. Whatever happened to focus groups? Like a group of season hand picked ticket holders get to see the different designs & pick the one they like.
  17. Something.... anything.
  18. Anyone think I'll buy one? LOL!
  19. Why can't it be both? And what's wrong with that? No one will be forced to buy them. If they want to spend their money on one that's fine and dandy. What's wrong? They're forcing garbage on the fans all across the league, that's what's wrong. In Winnipeg's case, the unis most fans want & the Bombers promised they'd wear, we never see. Like you, I think these are crap. But I'm going to interrupt you here because they aren't forcing anything on you. Don't want to buy one? Okay. Decide that this is the last straw for you? Fine, don't watch a game. The CFL is in the business of making money. You can vote with your wallet. Spare us though that these atrocities will somehow be forced into your life. Forcing means having to watch them play wearing those things. Tell 17to85, TBurgess, Mike, kelownabomberfan & everyone else who doesn't like the look not to watch if we all don't like them.
  20. They all look so ashamed. No kidding. The boys don't look happy.
  21. Bombers had to sign off on these. Do they know?
  22. What's that based on? Just curious. He hates the french. What? Now that's just confusing.
  23. of course it's a cash grab, every time they come up with a new jersey it's a cash grab. Did they need to do new jerseys a couple years ago? No but they can sell more if there's a new style. It's kind of hard to sell a retro jersey from a short time ago so they're going with this crap. I am just sick and tired of seeing ugly jerseys. The ones we wear now are gross, these ones seem like they'll be even grosser. Stop giving us crap for a jersey and I bet you grab more cash out of it. If by cash grab you mean they are hoping people buy it, then sure. But the negative connotation of cash grab does not apply here at all. A cash grab is when photo radar is set up North Bound Kenaston at 7pm with no construction happening and no construction impedment to the roadway and yet the speed limit is artificially reduced due to the invisible construction and people are being picked off for doube fine tickets. Thats a cash grab. Thats forcing you to give money in a scenario orchestrated solely with the intent of taking your money in a situation in which you'd otherwise not give it. Designing new jerseys as part of a league wide marketing effort is not a cash grab. Your explanation of it not being a cash grab is funny as you keep supporting the notion that it IS a cash grab when you say, "Designing new jerseys as part of a league wide marketing effort is not a cash grab". It is a cash grab... Otherwise why do it?
  24. I don't think a dozen forum denizens coupled with like 2 dozen facebook posters constitutes as a huge reaction.. I've seen people saying they like em as well so it's really not a universal hatred.. Sure, that's why they do polls.
  25. It used to be NCAA got qbs ready to play at the NFL level. Now, they run the no huddle spread offense... Not only do qbs not know how to call plays in the huddle they also don't know how to do 3, 5 & 7 step drops taking the snap from center. Four years of running plays out of the gun... The NFL does so much more.
