This is all on Jim Popp. He put his team in this situation with his overwhelming desire to get an NFL job last off season. Higgins wasn't hired until mid February. but Popp had no say in the hire. He fired Rick Worman during training camp. He's brought in "consultants" & added them to the Als staff. What he really should have done was resign last winter but he chose to come back to the Als when his NFL job hunt was unsuccessful. Like Mr Perfect said at some point, he'll make Higgins the sacrificial lamb. At the same time, Higgins looks to be coaching scared which isn't like him at all thanks to Popp's interference. His failure to go for 2 late in the game confirmed that for me on Saturday.

Guess we'll see, Mr. Perfect. I think it's safe to say Manziel has a lot of growing up to do.

People take uniforms, logos, colours & team names very seriously. Almost to the point of being something sacred. We love the Bombers & what they represent about us & the City of Winnipeg with pride. So we take anything they do personally. Messing with the logo & colours gets a huge reaction. I don't find it surprising at all.

Yeah, threw the word trade out there just to see what people thought. I think that a trade like that is made in the off season not during. If BLM ever went down & Drew Tate had been traded to Hamilton before it happened then the Stamps would be hooped as rookie Brian Moniz would be the starter. He didn't look that impressive at training camp with the few reps in the 2 exhibition games he did get. I'm actually surprised he's still with Calgary. Tate's the insurance policy.

As far as being more talented than the other 2 qbs mentioned, I'd say definitly more than Tebow but not as much as Leaf. Leaf was a big, strong qb who could make all the throws. He was just a complete moron & headcase. He still is to this day. The money & fame went to Leaf's head just like it seems to be doing to Manziel. Par-tay.

I was watching the MNF game tonight but wouldn't you know it, I walked away from the game for awhile & missed the Manziel One Man Salute to the Redskins. Classless act by a spoiled brat of an athlete who I predict will have as short a career in the NFL as Tim Tebow & Ryan Leaf.

Always bothered me that even going back to 1979 with Winnipeg Jets 1.0 most of our games are on Sundays so we got screwed out of watching the Jets on HNIC. Yet, there they were every week, the Leafs, Canucks ,Oilers, Canadiens & Flames on Saturday nights. When the Jets came back 3 years ago I was hoping it would be different but oh no. When were our home games when they were televised by CBC? At 2 in the afternoon. Or as the road team against the other teams mentioned a few times a year. It's like we were the throw in afterthought by HNIC. We were never treated as well as those other teams by the CBC.

Wait 'til you see the signature reffing outfits... I like it - has all the teams colours to show there is no preferential treatment. Very positive 'feel' yet the black lines give a real sense of strength, firmness. Reebok really nailed this one. And every call is never wrong hence the happy face!

Get rid of the R logo on the front, put the numbers on the chest & back & use it as the regular jersey...

LaPo's doing a national broadcast, SPuDs. If he wants to coach, then coach. No, he's still being paid by the Bombers to be an analyst on TSN. We'll see what he does next year when his contract is finished up. Otherwise do what Matt Dunigan did in the years after he was fired from the Stamps. Be totally unbiased. Matt's been nothing but a class act & never once said or did anything to show his disdain for Calgary all these years. If he had any, you'd never know it. You never see Matty wearing team colours or favouring anybody.

It's marketing to be sure but to an older age group who are already fans.

With the brave new hockey world, I just have one question: Will I now be able to see more Jets games in Calgary than I did before?? We actually saw more Oilers games here than Flames games... I'm a fan of neither team.
