  1. Can the money the CFL makes go into reffing clinics?
  2. Then LaPo should go coach with them. He wants to be a talking head on their broadcasts then be a professional & don't make who he likes so obvious.
  3. What's the actual point of these unis & helmets? Support the military? Oh, a money grab... Ha, ha... Shoulda known.
  4. Rod Black-esque.
  5. That's what happens to teams on the back half of a short week. They just don't have enough in the tank. Funny how TSN was pointing that out. Especially Suitor. And hey, LaPo was actually WORRIED about the Argos having a short week. Was any of the same concern expressed about us last Tuesday in that UNBELIEVABLE win by the Argos? I know it was mentioned but worry???
  6. I agree & I've said this before back in the 60's, 70's & 80's most CFL teams played with 2 International offensive linemen. Sometimes 3. We had right guard Buddy Brown & left tackle Butch Norman protecting Dieter Brock & opening huge holes for Jay Washington & then later on William Miller. Both those guys were studs & CFL All Stars back then. They were great players. But the trade off was starting more Nationals in the secondary, linebacker or defensive backfield. I also remember we started a sub par National named Mark McDonald at wide receiver when Brock was our qb & I'm sure the only reason he played is because Internationals were playing at key positions elsewhere. But the Bombers had so many weapons offensively at Brock's disposal that McDonald really never hurt us. He dropped a lot of catchable footballs but still managed to haul in 30 passes every year for about 600 yards or so as I recall. But still the Nationals that did play positions now reserved only for Internationals like corner, defensive back, wide receiver & linebacker many were all stars. Most Nationals were solid players.
  7. What a stupid thing to say. Not playing hard? Go cheer for another team. You're just an idiot troll.
  8. Ratio needs to be dropped from 7 Canadian starters to 5 so 2 Internationals can start on the OL & it has no repercussions like a domino effect everywhere else. Disagree heartily with any reduction of the ratio in OUR game. But how else can you fix the problems the league is having scoring on offense? The OL blocking stinks with 7 of the 9 teams in the CFL. There aren't enough quality Canadian offensive linemen playing in the CIS & NCAA to stock 9 teams. There are 45 starting spots with 9 teams. College teams can't stock teams. It may not be something we want to hear but it is a fact of life. The only way is to reduce starting Canadians to 5. I don't like it either but it is what it is.
  9. I can't see Reilly having a long career the way he takes off. He's going to get injured.
  10. Bet that injury changes his style of play when he comes back next season.
  11. People in Ottawa were excited when they drafted Kevin Glenn. The team would have sold out anyway so I question whether signing Hank was really a good business decision. They tied up more $$$ in Hank & that money could have been spent elsewhere, as Mr Dee said,to make a more complete team. They signed Burris to a $475,000 per season contract. Kevin Glenn has an incentive based contract. The more he starts the more he gets paid. His base salary according to some in the media here in Calgary was only $100,000 a year. Even if Glenn started all 18 games, he wouldn't be close to Hank's contract. That's why signing Hank was a dumb move.
  12. The old saying, "Careful what you wish for" certainly is true for Kent Austin. If he still had Burris he'd be running away with the East Division. Not only can Hank still play but he never gets hurt. Yeah, we know that Frank shows up every once in awhile & makes a bonehead throw or decision but still Burris would have been better than anything the Ti Cats have now even with a healthy Collaros. This season just blew up for Austin. Massoli??? LOL!

  14. Wow, is Durant getting fat. He looked funny in that skin tight uniform exposing every inch of flab on his physique.
  15. Desjardins ran the Ti Cats into the ground overspending on Casey Printers. They could have used the money saved with having Glenn on other positions. As Dee & others are saying what's the point of spending $450,000 on a 40 yr old qb who has little if anything to throw to??? As stated by others, by the time the redblacks have these weapons Hank will be retired. Glenn would have given them stability & consistency at qb at about a quarter to half the price they're paying Hank now. Glenn may have not put up superstar numbers but the money saved could have been spent elsewhere & would have made the team better than they are now with Hank starting. Look for Rick Campbell to be Marcel's first sacrificial lamb before he gets the boot himself in a couple of years. What was the worst that happens with Glenn as the qb? They have a shitty record? Same as now? Desjardins with the silly notion that all you need is a big money qb. To me, Desjardins thought his team was better than it actually is. I'm quite sure he thought with Hank he might win the East. I mean, Desjardins was cocky & arrogant all off season from the Expansion Draft all the way through the CFL Combine & CFL Draft. And the shot he took at the Bomber organization saying publicly that there weren't any players good enough in the final round to take so he just picked someone randomly? A GM doesn't talk like that unless he thinks (1) he's doing a great job in his opinion & (2) he thinks he has a very good team. Yeah, he's finding out he's not so smart & his team is nowhere near as good as he figured it would be. Going the Hank route & paying huge money with a small salary cap has really handcuffed the team. They're in the same boat with Hank as they would be with Glenn. It was an extremely stupid move.
  16. I wish we'd find another back.
  17. Nice feather pillows, too.
  18. LeFevour wasn't injured being hit late in the pocket. His knee buckled when he was running. So the RTP calls don't apply for him regarding his injury. .
  19. You really think Sask would have given them a kick that was returnable? That would have just wasted time. Well, you can only kick it so many places like that. Yeah they could try a squibber, but those can backfire bad on you. Kick it out of bounds and you're setting the team up with a better hail mary shot A kick that bounces a couple times to the returner gives the cover team a couple extra seconds to get down field, zero chance of a return. The kicker doesn't even have to place it well. He'd have to make a catastrophic mistake to make it worth the risk for the Als to run time off with 12 seconds left. Hope the Bombers are ready for the Als D. next week, they could provide major headaches. All we need is a FG...

  21. Back in the days of real grass turf & mud. He needed that towel to keep his hands dry to grip the football. Anyone here remember that semi final playoff game in 1980 at Canad Inns against the Stamps where we got about 8 inches of snow & ice Saturday & it all melted Sunday? The field turned into a quagmire of mud & slush. There was little or no traction for the players so the offenses ground to a halt. Bomber fullback Mark Bragagnolo ripped off a 90 yard run up the middle to win the game?
  22. Glen and Colin Scrivener. Both D. One of the Scrivs is a bad guy. Involved with drugs & a biker gang. I think he was an enforcer & a collector. If you owed money or did somebody wrong in the underworld you might have to deal with him. He did some serious time behind bars. Might be Colin. The other Scriv is a good guy. Owns his own business & a former coach with the Rifles. I think that's Glen. The tale of 2 brothers.
  23. He's a Bomber. Colts cut him last week. Good, hope he works out.
  24. Black was brutal today. maybe moreso than he always is... Did you catch his comment when he was talking about Jeff Garcia? He actually said that Garcia won a Grey Cup "In Canada"... Then with less than a minute in the game he says as they went to commercial, "Alex Brink is on the brink." Can't stand that idiot.
  25. Thanks, it was bad for all of us. He, his wife & son moved to Philly in 2007 & really stopped communicating with family. Last time I saw him was Christmas Day 2005. He seemed happy at the time. They were living in Bellingham, WA then. Still hard to comprehend & I miss him. I took him to a Bomber game when he was 8 & a Seahawk game in 1980 when he was 12 after my sister, brother in law & her family had moved from Winnipeg to Vancouver. I wasn't married at the time, still single & I had as much fun taking him to both games as I would have had with anyone else.
