  1. Just bring back the royal blues...
  2. Cough* Cough***
  3. We don't know what Miller does behind the scenes. He may be real effective but does so in anonymity because we don't see him everyday. I think the less we see of him the better the team is doing. I would like that golf course made into a parking lot but the U of M has other plans. You'd think they'd be willing to forego some of that land to be used for parking but these are academics in ivory towers we're talking about here... They have other plans.
  4. Wow, talk about who cares??? Communist China???
  5. Why is that? How hard is it to schedule a break in both halves of the season? Ottawa had the bye Week 1 & they'll have a second break before we have our first? Week 13??? Makes no sense. Bush league. Not bush. Blame it on Rogers and having two teams that wanted to start on the road because of their stadium issues although blame it mostly on Rogers. I blame Rogers for any screwiness with the schedule. It is so frustrating to see this happening....
  6. Big mistake to bench him vs the Argos. I hope he's back next game. He's fearless & should be rewarded for that.
  7. Sounds like a normal night out on the town for Rob Ford.

  9. One guy is a troll here... He says BS stuff to get a rise out of members here to draw attention to himself. I won't say who as I think we all know.
  10. Heard that story too. Imagine Gretzky in a WHA Jets uniform with Bobby Hull, Anders Hedberg, Ulf Nilsson, Willy Lindstrom, Peter Sullivan & Velli Pekka-Ketola... Wow.
  11. So what's the problem? BTW nothing else in your comment registered. Guess you have to stop thinking the CFL started in 1995.
  12. Too much power corrupts. I'm sure he thinks whatever he says, goes in CFL meetings.
  13. I don't know what the reporter heard or what was repeated or "word to that effect" but I'll never believe a team "stops trying to win". Mr Dee, we all saw it last year under Tim Burke.
  14. Come on man, that's just stupid talk. I mean hey, I don't think this team is Grey Cup ready or ready to win the west yet, but no wins out of the 10 games we got left? I mean, we got the Montreal circus show coming to town next week, and we play Ottawa again as well, those smell like pretty good wins to me. We got Hamilton again, and yeah I know they're not as bad as the 1-5 record they sit holding, but it's not like they're a juggernaut right now either. If we finish the season with only 8 wins, fine, means this team's youth and inexperience caught up to them, but that's a hell of a lot better than we've seen mostly around here lately. But this is not the 2013 Bombers, and I got more than enough reason to think O'Shea will pull more wins out before this season is over. An exaggeration perhaps. But I wouldnt be surprised if we finish below .500 on the season, watching the way the team is playing PLUS seeing how other teams have figured us out. They are running at will and blitzing at will. The officiating didnt help. But every team has to deal with the same officials. As much as I want to be 12-6, I'll take 8-10 as it is a gargantuan improvement over 2013. It'll also mean we can attract some prized free agents or coaches in the off season than last year.
  15. Saw you on tv having a good time...
  16. Yeah, I was wrong. Skalkbania owned the Als not the Lions. And yes, he brought in Ferragamo, Billy "White Shoes' Johnson & running back David Overstreet in 1981. It's hard to keep track of all these carpetbagging, tire kicking, slick used car type owners that the CFL used to attract. In for a quick buck but always lost money.
  17. How long have you been following the CFL? Do you know who Murray Pezim was? The guy was a gold speculator who bought the Lions & chased young skirts half a century younger than him even though he was a fat old 70 year old bordering on perversion. He would take off his shirt during games & his belly would fall out. He spent a ton of money on former New York Jet Defensive End Mark Gastineau even though the guy could no longer play football anymore. How about Nelson Skalbania?? He also owned the Lions. The guy bought the team then never spent a dime on them. More like an absentee owner than anything else & the team suffered on the field & with attendance. What about the Gliebermans who owned the Ottawa Rough Riders & then the Renegades. They publicly chastized & threatened coaches in the media to the point that two coordinators resigned mid season from the Rough Riders in their first ownership go round. With the Renegades, Lonnie Glieberman had a contest where women in the crowd would take off their shirts & show their ... !! In their final year of Renegade ownership, story goes that Lonnie decided he wouldn't spend another dime on the team & they ran out of tape. Trainer told the HC that there was no more tape & practice had to be cancelled. How about the endless string of owners in Toronto like Cynnamon & Sokalowski all who were under capitalized & couldn't pay their bills? They all came & went. David Braley paid C & S bills instead & then just took over the Argos as they both owed him money. Then there was F Troop in Calgary. They were called F Troop in honour of the 1960's sitcom where the US cavalry was portrayed as a bunch of bufoons fighting the hostile Indians. Michael Feterik bought the Stampeders from local owner Sig Gutsche in 2001. The corrugated box magnate from Northern California actually bought the team so his son Kevin who was a qb from BYU could have a team to play for. He insisted on his son being the starting Stamps qb & it was a disaster. He brought in a so called sports agent named Fred Fateri to be the General Manager. Only problem was Wally Buono was already the GM & Feterik forced the two to co exist for one season upon which Buono was fired & subsequently hired by the Lions. Fred Fateri main claim to fame was his collection of expensive shoes & his comportment on the sidelines usually with one or two female bombshells at his side. I could go on... Wetttenhall the worst owner of all time?? Not... even... close.

  19. For me being angry about this loss is a good thing because it shows I still have great passion for the Bombers. I was just numb the entire season last year. Didn't care when the losses piled up. I enjoyed seeing Mack, Buchko, Crowton & Burke all canned. It was like I relished in the revenge. I still care..
  20. Combine the brutally horrible one sided officiating, Marcel Bellefeuille's; 4 yard dump passes, bad play calling & Etcheverry's atrocious run defense & this is a game that angers me as a fan. Our linebackers barely weigh 200 lbs & we are getting killed with the run. What's the point of having quick linebackers if they are too small to fight off blockers & can't tackle? This is the defense I was afraid of when O'Shea hired Etch. As far as Bellefeuille's playcalling, I mean... First & ten we throw for 5.. Second & five we throw for 3??? Or we need 4 yards for a first down & we throw incomplete 50 yards downfield... Like WTH?? We did that the entire game. Why can't we throw mid range 15-25 yards?? As the game went on our OL played worse & worse. Howard is terrible. Then just to add the icing to the cake we have officials who deemed it there sworn duty to give the Argos the win... This is when I hate the CFL & think it's a bush league after officiating like that. ****, I'm pissed off.
  21. It's Snark Week here.
  22. I can't really add to the previous comments above because they are all so well said. I'll just say he is going to be missed.
  23. Because in the long run, it's going to make us a better team . . . and it's where the Winnipeg Blue Bombers belong. We are a western team. We hang with the Big Dogs now. Not the Sheep in the East. And I agree in the long run better competition will make us a better team & organization.
  24. Methinks Tom Higgins is probably gone before the season ends. If not then certainly this off season. When he said that Smith exceeded expectations at halftime on Friday, I just went what the hell? You can see what the interference of Jim Popp has done to Higgins & the team. This is a head coach who knows he's a dead man walking. He has that deer in the headlights look that I never saw here in Calgary or when he was in Edmonton.
