I was a young fan through the Zaleski years. They were bad, I mean, real, real bad. But the most inept offense I ever saw was last year's. And that's saying something. No real sustained running attack, no dominant receivers, the offensive line in tatters & especially no qbs. Zaleski at least tried to look & act like a head coach, not like someone on the verge of tears like Burke was every game. And Joe always took the blame. That's why I put Burke at the bottom, followed by Zaleski & then Reinebold.

Poll - who has more wins ? Winnipeg or Ottawa?
iso_55 replied to DR. CFL's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I picked Ottawa. They have Hank & a better OL. When Burris is on, he's deadly. That line will be above average so they should be able to run the ball as well. -
I'm chuckling over here. No. He proved that he doesn't have the tools to be a head coach in this league, not even close, but for him to crack that top echelon of Bart Andrus awfulness? No, he just wasn't that interesting. His time as head coach will be a footnote in Bomber history. The truly awful ones get their own chapters. A head coach with zero positive attributes. Yep, Burke is one of the worst ever, the only one in his league in Bomber history is Reinebold, and even though his teams sucked his players would have tried to run through a brick wall if that was the play call, so he had some positive attributes. The only head coach I can remember in my time who was worse than Burke is John Huard. I'd but Burke at par with Andrus, Paopao and the American Greg Marshall as head coaches as the next tier of garbage head coaches after Huard. We'll see if Chris Jones joins that crew. Burke IS the worst. Followed by clueless Joe Zaleski & Reinebold. The Top 3 Worst Bomber Coaches of all time. Jim Daley doesn't get a mention in there? Daley's an Epstein compared to those others.

Where's the other $10 million coming from ? As far as I know the Ticats are only putting in $5 million, for locker room and fitness room etc. I'm trying to find out how much they are putting in - I saw $10M in one article but it might have been old. It would seem to be at least $10M as the Specator indicated "Owner Bob Young is investing (another) $5 million to upgrade the football facilities". http://www.thespec.com/sports-story/4478239-cfl-momentum-of-ticats-carrying-into-corporate-life/ This is all after the fact. The $$ the Ti Cats are putting in is after the stadium is finished. Not part of the actual construction cost. The $145 million cost to build THF is 100% taxpayer funded. Which is why I say if Young had his concerns & wanted to be a part of the decisions on location of the stadium he should have come to the table as a full partner before construction. The Ti Cats are putting in $20 million in order to have control of the naming rights which they hope recoups that amount. The $20 million is the lease costs pegged at $1 million a year. Also, the City of Hamilton owes Young a million dollars a game under the lease agreement for every game the stadium is not completed. So, even though the stadium will be used, because it's not finished, Young pockets his yearly lease payments PER GAME until the stadium is fully finished. He's laughing.

Well, alright, I'll play Captain Obvious as you seem to be asking for it. Had Bob not torpedoed the WH location as well as another site then the Ti Cats would have still been playing at IWS & there'd be no issues. Young put no money into the current Pan Am Stadium construct. Or he came to the table after everything was resolved. The $145 million dollar price tag is 100% taxpayer funded. Bob Young didn't want the West Harbour site for many of the same reasons people ***** about the site of IGF - limited access to the site, parking, NIMBYs. It was not a financially viable location. I'm not sure what other sites you're referring to since City Council rejected a number of sites (CP land, Confederation Park for example) before deciding to go with the West Harbour location. The games were awarded in late 2009 and, iirc, it was from April or May, 2010 that the disagreement over site became an issue. Hamilton city council voted in August, 2010 to have the stadium at the West Harbour. In December, 2010 the new mayor came into office and by February, 2011 there was an agreement to re-build at the Ivor Wynne site with demolition starting in fall, 2012. It wasn't years of arguing (like what happened here) and it is a win-win situation for the City and the team. East Mountain site was mentioned as well. It was an area where a lot of Ti Cats fans thought would work very well. It's looked upon as an area where things will take off in a number of years. I've never been to Hamilton so I don't know where it is.

Sure, let the kid off. Why am I not surprised?

Misquoted, misunderstood, mistake. Burke.

LaPo made some coaching errors especially in key situations late in the game but had he been given a chance he'd have corrected that with experience. He was 10 times the head coach Burke was.

Yes he does, him an Hervey seem to be on a crash course to oblivion themselves. But I still want to see how he handles everything. Will he blame other people? Hell, he might blame Burke lol. Yes he does, him an Hervey seem to be on a crash course to oblivion themselves. But I still want to see how he handles everything. Will he blame other people? Hell, he might blame Burke lol. I sat beside Jones at a football banquet the day he quit the Stamps & nearly had a dust up with Huff in his office. Nobody knew he had left the team. He was talking to me about coordinating the Stamps off season free agent camps that winter in the US & how much he was looking forward to doing that. Even though he had already resigned to go to the Argos. The news broke the next morning about the messy breakup. I just thought, Hmmm... Why even talk about the Stamps free agent camps to me & how excited he was when he wasn't there anymore? He could have talked about a hundred other general CFL topics. To his credit, Jones did show up to our high school banquet & gave a nice speech. It couldn't have been a great day for him. It was probably the last place he wanted to be.

Jones isn't getting off to a great start with the Edmonton media. He sounds like a Kelly clone & that did not end well.

Jacquie, Caretaker Bob wanted to be treated as a partner & not a tenant. He always talked about how he'd put money into a new stadium in a couple of publc letters he released. Yet in reality, he never put in a cent. If Young wanted a say in the stadium, then Mr. Billionaire should have ponied up. Putting in $30 million of his own money would have given him a say in just about everything including location. He never spent a penny. He wasn't a partner. He was a tenant. He wanted everything his way for free & why should he have got that? Well, what did Caretaker Bob do? He rejected EVERY site the city chose. He ended up taking the Ti Cats out of town to Guelph for an entire season into a facility that was less than half the size of Ivor Wynne Stadium.. Now, Tim Horton's Field won't be finished until October. I agree everyone is to blame here for the fiasco but the most blame is pointed in Young's direction. He got a new stadium for free & even that wasn't good enough.
-
Burke wasn't wrong describing the lack of talent but then he wasn't a leader either. He couldn't inspire Anthony Robbins on a good day. And saying he didn't know offense so he'd leave the decision up to others? And he wants a second chance? Sure, Tim. Keep dreaming. #littleboylost

Well, I might boo him if he dresses for our club. Because Bryant clearly quit on his team-mates last time he was here and in my opinion he doesn't deserve to ever again wear a Blue Bombers jersey. It also bugs me that current management shows such obvious disregard for recent history - and disrespect for fans and former players. They may not be mindful of that - new slate etc. but to bring in a player like Bryant, who demonstrated an utter lack of professionalism while here, borders on arrogance more than desperation. Such arrogance is not a good sign and will inevitably boomerang on Walters, O'Shea and Bellefeuille down the road. You guys have no idea of what a total schmuck Mike Kelly was.I can't blame anyone for not wanting to play for him. Complete douchebag, asshat or arrogant prick there is still a right way and a wrong way to deal with it.. He literally chose the worst option possible.. He stopped playing for the logo on his Jersey, the fans in the stands and the soldiers beside him in the trenches.. If this was a military situationsituation, he would have been court-martialed for mutiny or cowardice..The guy quit. He gave up because he didn't like his boss.. You don't do that, especially when your position on a team is often based on respect.. I'm sure he lost alot of it in that locker room.. LOL! Romby is just a puss filled zit on your butt. YouYou haven't sat down in 5 years, SPuDs!! Why you talkin' bout my ass? Questionable.. Very questionable... Not that there's anything wrong with that..

I will say this, TD Bank Stadium is a unique looking stadium.

Caretaker Bob has treated his fans like garbage. He never put a cent into Tim Hortons Field. He hated every location the city wanted. He delayed construction for over a year. Took the team to Guelph & played in a dinky little amateur stadium. Now this.

Bo Levi Mitchell to get the start over Drew Tate
iso_55 replied to a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
There's no one behind BLM if Tate is dealt away so he'd not going anywhere unless it's a qb swap with the Stamps. -
Looks good on Bob Young for delaying the process over a year. No bathrooms, what?? Ridiculous.

I think buck started more games in the past 5 years then Tate has. So buck would have been Tate light. Not the other way around. Sure why not? -

Drew Tate, 5 years with the Stamps & started 9 games. Buck Pierce light. -
But if they sign him you'll be okay with it. Enthusiastic even.
