Bo Levi Mitchell to get the start over Drew Tate
iso_55 replied to a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Tate's a hothead & a flake. He appears to be a selfish, "Me First" kind of qb. He doesn't like to look bad so he snarls at teammates when they screw up. He may be fiery but I don't consider him a true leader because of that trait. BLM is a cool customer who has a totally different demeanor on the field. if he starts the majority of the games he'll start distancing himself from Tate. -
He''s a veteran & if we can squeeze 800 yards out of him it may be worth it.

All of a sudden this is about Romby Bryant quitting on his team in 2009 which is so long ago, who really cares? Both he & Kelly aren't in the CFL anymore. Besides, if this thread got a little off kilter then just scroll through the comments you don't like.

With the new CBA I have no clue. I think a suspended list is a bad thing as Crapinga was cut. I don't like the idea of a team owning a players rights after they were cut.

Time for him to do what all good senators do, retire & live off the taxpayer's trough. Even though he doesn't have to. Truly though, he has to sell off his teams & go. You do realize Braley resigned from the Senate last year and I don't think he was a Senator long enough to qualify for the pension. Do I care? No. And yeah, I guess he did resign during the senate scandal. Those senators will get something.

Media has deadlines for stories so I can see why they're upset. They have a job to do as well.

So then why isn't he still with Calgary? Why isn't Jade Etienne still with the Bombers? I'm sure he was a nice kid.

Doug Brown didn't quit on his team though. That's too simplistic an explanation. The stuff going on behind the scenes in the locker room was chaotic as I recall. There seemed to be a cisis a day with Kelly during the 2009 season. All I know is when Bryant got to the Stamps he was a total professional & team player the entire time he was in Calgary. He had a problem with an arrogant & bully Blue Bomber head coach who enjoyed pushing his weight around people just because he thought he could. Ask the Stamps players & coaches who knew him & there were never any issues with Bryant when he was a Stampeder. Never heard of any with the Argos either. So, I think this was a coaching & not a player issue.

Wow, too many shots to the head, Jamel? Not a smart decision.

Gee, I see it differently: I was impressed by the way Romby Bryant stood up to that schmuck Mike Kelly, gave him the finger, and forced Kelly to trade him away. But by doing that to Kelly, he also did it to all his teammates as well. Kelly was an idiot & control freak. I don't recall all the circumstances that led to Bryant coming to Calgary but Kelly's "My way or the highway wanting to control the message" arrogance led to his ultimate dismissal as head coach. I blame the coach & not the player. His Majesty King Kelly treated just about everyone badly in the Bomber court, fans, media & even Bob Irving. You didn't/don't like Kelly and I'm certainly not going to defend him. But I do remember the circumstances of Bryant's trade. I do remember the absolute lack of effort by Bryant. He didn't like Kelly's offence - fine but that didn't give him the right to quit on the team. I still remember this play in his last game as a Bomber. He made a catch along the sidelines - both hands on the ball - and then the Als' defender reached in with one hand and easily grabbed the ball from him. It's difficult to describe how pathetic the play was - it really does need to be seen - but the one thing it showed clearly was that Bryant didn't care. So, Bryant goes to Calgary & he has back to back to back thousand plus yard seasons. Sure, blame the player not the lunatic coach running the team at the time. Kelly squandered a very good receiver. By criticizing Bryant you're defending Kelly so...

Washington Redskins Urged to Change Team Name
iso_55 replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
Indian Head, SK should be next. I mean, it's bad enough I get insulted just having to drive in across that province but I really get insulted & offended when I see that town's name. -
They have a bye Week 1 so they must have a line on some kickers to bring in & evaluate before then. I wonder if they'll pick up Stamps Tyler Crapigna who was released & sent back to CIS this season? He was never going to beat out Rob Maver & Rene Paredes.

Iso would have a stroke. You know, I'd laugh because my point has been proven about the guy twice. He was traded & then cut by the team who traded for him. Looks like we got a starter for him, as well. So Walters pulled one over Taman. I never hated Etienne but I hated the pick. But let's face it, he's had his chances the past 3 years. As far as Jade coming back, he's the epitome of the Joe Mack era. The Bombers want to purge themselves of just about everything Joe Mack did. Can't see Walters ever bringing him back but hey, stranger things have happened.

I am a rum drinker. That is my fave. I also drink rye & vodka. Stay away from bourbon. Not a scotch drinker. In university, I used to drink beer exclusively & got **** faced quite a bit at parties, beer bashes, socials or at the pub on weekends. I found the hangovers from beer way worse than hard liquor. I seldom ever drink a beer anymore. Matter of fact, I don't drink much anymore. A bottle of rum may last me for months.

Way too early to say that.
-
They don't care. TSN is part of Bell Media. We're just $$$ to them.
-
Chad Johnson is starting. I look forward to seeing him play.
-
And 32 years old as well. I wasn't impressed last night. I'm sure a lot of Lions fans weren't either. Partridge has a bigger upside.
-
Not that this means anything but we're now up to early 90's NFL coaching staff numbers. I think every staff in the NFL is around 22 assistant coaches now.
-
We sure do hope. As Captain Obvious would say, he needs to be surrounded by talent at all positions as he can't do it himself.

Just saying here but.. 98 percent of this board called halls release. You are gloating for no reason. We all saw it coming. Do you really think a non mobile joey elliot and alex brink would have fared any differently last season? Last season was more about the coaches and the ridiculous schemes they tried to run instead of about how bad the players were. I'm not sure peyton manning would have done much here last year or russel wilson for that matter but because wilson can scramble and run, he might have looked ok but not much more than ok. No - but you got my point. Mack was given a mandate to find a #1 QB for last year. What he did was cut the two guys with the most experience (as in Buck always being hurt so he doesn't count) and brought in two guys to replace them that I say to this day would not have beaten them out in a fair competition training camp. One guy, Chase Clement, wasn't even playing pro ball anymore, had been a 'beer league' qb. I probably could have given him competition. That's my point. If Mack had brought in two guys like Willy/Reilly, then I get it. He didn't. As for the Hall comment - that was directed at ISO because he was, for some reason, singling me out of the 98% of the people on this board as the only guy who 'hated' (his word not mine I don't 'hate' anyone that's a strong, ugly word) Hall and wanted him gone. I wanted Hall gone cause he was never good enough. It was easy to pick too from what Marve did to get here, and the fact McManus personally vouched for Brohm, I knew he wasn't going anywhere. Only question for me was would Marve start the year on the PR but as mentioned, when Browning was signed, it was obvious Hall was gone. You hate Hall, c'mon. It was obvious because you hate Joe Mack. Call a spade a spade. I am no Mack lover either as 17, Mike & a lot of other posters here can attest to because we've had some heated discussions about it during the last year. So, you called one right with Hall being cut. Congrats, top of the world to you for doing that. Remember the love a year ago at this time from people here for Justin Goltz? How'd that work out? He was here 3 years & started a handful of games. Maybe Marve works out. Maybe he doesn't.

So if a guy we cut goes elsewhere, & plays much better than the guy we kept instead, it should be considered a bad thing for us? Thanks for clearing that up.How can it not be? Especially if the guy we keep isn't as good. You're welcome. Anytime.Yes he was being sarcastic, because your comment basically adds up to:"If the guy we cut ends up better than the guy we kept, then it was a mistake." Well no ****. That's how cuts work. Not a mind reader. LOL!
