Thud!! it's not even that Stubler didn't come here. It's just that Etch is a known commodity and I didn't like his defenses in previous stops so I didn't want him here. I'd have rather given an unknown a shot than go with a guy who I know I don't like. Yeah, that's what I was hoping would happen. There are some bright young coaches in the CFL that would have done a good job.

Pretty clear to me what he was saying. If anything it shows Etch is good with X's & O's but not good at judging who should play where.

On another note, I was chatting with Dave Campbell, the colour analyst on Eskimo radio broadcasts on twitter. He told me that the Esks are committed to developing qb Pat White. Ed Hervey has pursued him for the past 2 years hoping to get his name on a contract & finally did this off season after bouncing around the NFL. White didn't show much against the lions this past Friday.

I'd say more than that. Caretaker Bob has a real self imposed mess on his hands. He didn't like any other locations that the City of Hamilton wanted to build a new stadium on. They have no venue to start the season maybe going forward into September & October. Where are all the ST holders & general admission going to sit??

White looked absolutely terrible yet Jones kept playing him& playing him. You'd think he'd want to get the rust off Nicholls in the pre season. Or maybe he just thinks Reilly is his guy & doesn't want a qb controversy. Either way, I thought the decision to keep White in was really questionable. Benevides gave Glenn the first quarter which too was a bit surprising. He needs to get his timing down throwing the ball & getting familiar with the new playbook. Not a very good game to watch. That little scatback for BC is going to steal Stephan Logan's job, you watch. Yeah I think they went with Pat White because Jacory Harris was even worse, to the point where he wouldn't even be getting the rest of the players in the offense meaningful reps. Can't believe I forgot Crompton. What a pile of crap outing he had. Clearly he has some skill over the other Edmonton QBs, but man, he was terrible. I've seen him play much better than that. Nicholls & Reilly are their best options. Nicholls, to me is a better qb than Reilly but he just keeps suffering these massively bad injuries.

A great kicker is gold. If they sacrifice because of the ratio then we deserve to lose games. Maybe they bring in a kid like kicker Tyler Crapigna from here in Calgary & develop him. He won't be beating out Paredes or Maver. I think the Stamps would be looking to trade for him if they somehow put him on the roster.

Unions want the money but they don't want to be partners to share in the risk if business goes bad. And they'll always support politicians & governments sympathetic to their cause.

In 1974, it cost me $4.75 each per game for my 2 season tickets. So, 2 tickets for under $100 to sit on the 55 yard line. MY dad thought I was crazy to pay that kind of money. I was in gr 12 & I got a job in a restaurant washing dishes to buy those season tickets.

Had season tickets on the 55 yard line in Sec V from 1974 to 90 when I moved to Calgary. Never missed one single game in 17 seasons. That includes weddings & the birth of my oldest son.

It does matter. You can't expect an offense to be under pressure every game to score points because the defense gives up too much. That'll be a sure fire way to divide a team in the locker room when one side feels the other isn't doing its job.

Just comparing Bomber's peformance compared to all the other meaningless games for other teams. Sask and Ottawa both looked more prepared than we do. But, yeah, this team reminds me of 2010... the guys love the coach and respect him but its just not there. Sask and Ottawa were more prepared. They had 5 more days of practice and one less game prior to this one. People, we have to remember that we have a new coach, new DC, new MLBs and a new defensive system. Wild, Kuale, Newman, etc. need to get used to the DL and where the gaps will be for them to fill on running plays. The CFL schedule like a lot of things done in the league is ******** stupid.

Not happy with the hire either but he deserves a chance as DC, If it's mid season & we're giving up gobs of real estate on defense rushing then we'll have the right to call for his dismissal if things don't improve. But too early yet.

That was Cordaro Howard. He was playing well until that play...not sure what he was thinking on that one, just let the defender walk around him without much effort. That was a killer. And sorry to say, when he needed to make his block, didn't. Mental mistakes are killers because they all seem to happen at crucial times. I'm to the point that I'm tired of seeing garbage plays like that & things need to change.
