  1. Sigh, gbill2004.... Here's Dieter Brock from the 1970's wearing Royal Blue jersey. Also our third jerseys are Royal Blue.
  2. Navy blue is much darker. Powder blue is a lighter & brighter blue. There are all kinds of pics of the Blue Bombers wearing those colours in the 70's, 80's & 90's.
  3. Good to see you here, deuvl. He is a Montreal Alouettes fan living in Montreal. They are a rare species indeed on CFL sites. He's a good guy. Pretty respectful of other teams when he posts. Hope he is welcomed here.
  4. Calgary doesn't want to be like Toronto & we know we're never getting an NFL team. The city & media are nuts about the Flames. It's nauseatingly bad.
  5. It may not be a weird question but once you see the 2 colours there's no doubt the colours are different.
  6. That's nuts.
  7. Nicer blue. And we win GC's when we wear them as our regular jersey.
  8. The Stamps fanbase doesn't have the passion of the Bomber fanbase, no question about that. In the 24 years I've lived in Calgary it's always been that way.
  9. That stadium isn't even close to being finished. They'll be lucky to play in it this season. What a bleak looking stadium that is. It'll still look bleak & uninspiring when it's finished. And Collaros thinks it'll be nicer than the Bombers??? That's a joke.
  10. Exactly. That's why for some games the walkup is very small. No one wants to pay those prices in the cheap seats. No announcement even close to being done.
  11. Yeah, the old stadium is hurting attendance now. People truly think that tickets are overpriced & are staying away.mostly because McMahon lacks a lot of comforts. The real complaint is how ST prices have jumped. There are fans considering bailing on the team because of it. As far as a new stadium for the Stamps & arena for the Flames, count on a new arena getting done somewhere but I have my doubts about a stadium. We'll see. People here on forums are talking about "rumours" of a stadium/arena complex but to be quite honest there's been absolutely no talk or no leaks other than a rendering of a new Flames arena with seating configuration changes on the internet.
  12. Doomed.
  13. Just do it, Walters. Give the guy the $$ & let's go. MLB problem solved.
  14. I sleep in sweat pants.
  15. Phil Kessel must hate playing against Canada as he's had absolutely no luck. I bet he wishes he was playing in Chicago, Detroit, New York or Anaheim over Toronto. Amazing that Canada is in the gold medal game & Sidney Crosby has no goals.
  16. I'd like to see the 2001 helmet & unis as the 3rd jersey....
  17. Why would that be? They all do the same drills. They all go to all the same meetings & video sessions. Same with every team. It's also on the player to improve as well by doing extra video sessions & getting his head into the playbook. A coach can only do so much.
  18. I think we threw out the first salvo....
  19. Big changes in BC. Expect Angus Reid to retire next week. I think Wally is pushing these changes. He did this in Calgary.... He is banking on Lulay staying healthy & reloading.
  20. I have faith that DelMonaco was a big part of the problem... just wish we would announce our coaching staff. He can't be that bad of a coach if the Stamps hired him. I think the problem may not have been coaching as much as a lack of talent or expecting certain players to be better than they really are/were. No way Huff hires a bum as a coach. He's too smart for that.
  21. Somewhere in between a stick man & the dancing jelly dude above, I'd say.
  22. Nice way to treat a veteran. That's Wally & how he does business. The Lions couldn't have done this a month ago? I know Jackson is on the downside of his career but he may have been able to find a position with another team. Now, it may be difficult.
  23. I used to do a lot of curling in Manitoba at the competitive level years ago. Went to a number of Ray Turnbull clinics. The one thing I was taught was a nice clean release of the stone. I was watching the women's competition & other than Canada most of the Euro women have horrible releases. Some of them bend their elbows & push the stone when releasing it. Most seem to dump the stone on release or play with the handle nervously as they slid on release. On straight & fast ice you can get away with that but not on heavier & swingy ice. The ice for the Olympics was indeed straighter & quicker. The Jones team all have nice clean releases & they have the high percentages to show for it. Not surprised she dominated the way she did.
  24. Barrett's qb will probably be the first one picked in the NFL draft. Maybe not the first player but the first qb selected.... Someone said he coached at a small school? He's going to be in demand. BTW, Johnny Football was measured at a generous 5'11. I just can't see that guy doing that well in the NFL. Maybe he's another Russell Wilson, who knows?
  25. Have our men & women's curling & hockey teams ever come thru the past 2 days!! Unfortunately lost in the hockey the past 2 days was the Jennifer Jones team winning gold in Women's curling yesterday followed by Brad Jacobs winning curling gold for the Men earlier today. Of course, our women's hockey team won gold & the men edged Team USA 1-0 earlier today in a nail biter & will go for gold on Sunday morning. And Canada won a bronze in short track speed skating today as well as the women's 2 man bobsled Thursday. On to the gold medal hockey game vs Sweden.
