No, I want us to pursue Colaros as hard as we've ever pursued a player & not lose. Throw the CFL equivalent of a Brink's truck at him to be able to sign him. Whatever other CFL offer we match & do better. Haven't seen enough of Willy to know if he's the guy long term. But I feel Colaros is. The only other young qbs I feel just as strongly about are Troy Smith & BLM. Both will be protected I'm certain. Once we sign him then start rebuilding that gawd awful OL.

Is It Just Me? Don't Care About The Grey Cup Game.

Exactly 17, feel the same way. I haven't watched any coverage either as this is the worst possible GC scenario for me, as well. But I still have a bit of a soft spot for Hank living in Calgary even though his hot & cold play in important games drove fans crazy here. Stamps fans don't miss him & clearly he had to move on but I hope he wins today. Other than that, I have zero interest in this game. -

QB is a position of leadership. For most teams as he goes so goes his team. -

You know, to be honest... when the Stamps lost I wasn't too upset other than those bloody ******* Riders came into McMahon & the Stamps did one of their semi annual choke jobs in the playoffs that they have become famous for in the CFL. I was more upset the Riders won than the Stamps lost. I know some people don't believe me but the Bombers winning a Grey Cup means more to me than anything else as a sports fan. I really care about the Bombers more than I do about the Stampeders. -

I always had interest in the GC even with bad Bomber seasons in the past but I've never been like this. This is the first year that I've truly felt the way that I do. Just the way this whole poxxed year went down. The total ugliness of our team & everything with the horrible play along with the executive as well as coaching firings. Seeing that asshat Rider fanbase win the GC will just be the icing on the cake as to why I'm at my wit's end with the CFL right now to the point of almost being disconnected & I hate being that way. BTW Zontar, I hope the Cats win tomorrow big time. -
If it wasn't for immediate family coming over to watch the Grey Cup at our house later today, I doubt I'd watch the game. We all know that barring an unforseen catastrophe that the Riders will win their 4th Grey Cup later today. I don't know what it's like in Winnipeg but if it's anything like here in Calgary there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest or anything to get excited about regarding the game except by Rider Nation who live here. I don't like feeling this way as I've seen every Grey Cup game on tv or in person since 1965. I've always viewed the Grey Cup game proudly as a true Canadian spectacle that is uniquely ours & always enjoyed it but certainly I don't feel that way this year. I just want the game to be finished, over & done with so we can get on with naming people to run the Bombers asap. I hate this embargo on CFL news imposed by the league although I understand why it is being done. So, I guess I'll just try to enjoy the game with my wife, son & daughter in law this afternoon all the while awaiting news from the Bombers about stewardship of the team. Please just get the game over with so we can move on as a fanbase on Monday. Whoever wins, wins. I don't care anymore. Even if it is the gawd damned Riders. I just want to see the end to this nightmarish season we've all endured as Bomber fans & with the final gun at Grey Cup's end we can finally do just that. The 2013 season will then be officially over. Right now, I have a total disconnect with the Grey Cup game for the first time that I can remember. Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I thought the exact same thing when I heard the news. But he.... Jones ....doesn't know the Eskimo Way. It would be a crime. Well, speaking of crimes they had Tillman.

Just read a FP article that says the Bombers are trying to trade for Collaros. Argos are trying to sign Collaros to trade him but Collaros won't sign as he knows he'll get flipped thinking he can get more if he is traded as a FA himself. Things are just getting going here. Oh yeah, same article says Walters our next GM.

Heavy man... I see where you're coming from…in colours. But, to me, these are only token words, ( or is that spelt with an i ) That quaint saying would have been cool in a smokey, drug induced haze in the 70's. That's about it.

Optics can be an illusion. Illusions can be fantasy. Only reality is the permanence of our being.

Unsubstantiated and completely unfair to the young wizard, Mr. Walters Maybe but optics are everything.

My gosh Rich, it just never ends....

Head coach - Who do you want and why?

Waited almost a full 24 hours after cut down date to publish the Eskimos roster. Held an illegall free agent camp -
Why was Abou Zeid hired & what experience did he have? He was fired, right?
-
Yes, there are more experienced player personnel guys around than Walters. The guy in BC who has been there forever as well as John Murphy in Calgary. And like has been pointed out a couple of hundred times, there's Tom Higgins available who has rebuilt teams as a GM & Head Coach in the past. So, yes there are people out there who can do the job. The thing is, Wade Miller is calling the shots. I don't think too many CFL execs like Murphy want anything to do with him so we get Walters.
-
Would this open up a spot as a DC for Tim Burke in TO? Burke & Milanovich did coach together with the Als.
-
Mike Riley won 2 Grey Cups. Nothing wrong with that.

Dickenson To Sign Long Term Deal With Stamps
iso_55 replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It wasn't. But if you think he did anything close to try & fire up his offense on the sidelines & in the huddle you're wrong. That's not his style & when things go bad he becomes almost stoic. It's okay when a game is going well, not so good when the team is struggling. Why do you think Huff pulled him? He needed a spark to get the offense going as he saw the same thing, too. -
One thing's for certain, Jones won't be a media favourite in Edmonton. He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who is all warm & fuzzy.
-
Guess he got tired of pal-ing around with his buddy Scott. He was under contract to the Stamps & the minute Milanovich was hired, he phoned the guy from his office at McMahon Stadium & said please hire me. As they were former roommates he wanted to coach with his friend. When John Hufnagel found out, he hit the roof. Story goes, Huff & Jones almost came to blows. Be interesting to see how many players Jones signs away from the Argos like he did with the Stamps like Robert McCune, Brandon Issac & Demetrice Morley.

The only ones who seem to be doing this right seems to be the Riders. Their timeline for completion is 3-4 years away.
-
And Worman.

Dickenson To Sign Long Term Deal With Stamps

I like Glenn but when he thinks in his mind he can't win he's not very good. Other qbs have this deep seated belief in their abilities & feed off of that. Glenn just looks disinterested & he plays like that. -
Thought I'd post this site. It's the construction cam for Tim Horton's Field. Does the pace of construction not look familiar? I don't think there's any way the stadium in Hamilton will be finished in time for the start of the 2014 season next July. Judging how far they have to go to get things completed. While the grandstand on the other side isn't shown, I have seen it & it looks to be about the same as far as construction goes of the one in the picture. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ti Cats start next season in Guelph & open their new stadium in August or September. Meanwhile in Ottawa, I read a story a few weeks ago where the RedBlacks may ask the CFL to schedule their first four games of the 2014 season on the road to ensure the stadium is completed by late summer. May be some rough times ahead for the 2 teams in Ontario. Link to Tim Horton's Field. What do you guys think? http://www.ticats.ca/page/construction-cam
