You wonder how much the Bombers want to really piss off the fanbase. #BombersClueless
-
I wonder what the chances are of LaPo being hired as Ottawa's new HC?
-
Neither has Chris Jones. He's been DC in Montreal, Calgary & Toronto. Then there's Argos HC Scott Milanovich who had AC as his qb along with Marc Trestman's system. Jim Barker's provided him with talent & he done well. That's all the Bombers have to do. Follow Toronto's lead & draft well & provide their new HC with talent... Oh wait.

Lots of buses available for charter at First Student.

I'd say this team needs more than a viable qb. Max Hall is viable & we know he's not the answer. We need a guy who can possibly be the best qb in the CFL someday. I don't think Drew Willy is that guy. Bo Levi Mitchell could be but he's not going anywhere. Certainly not Thomas DeMarco. Troy Smith will stay put in Montreal. We'll be competing for Collaros with Ottawa, Hamilton & even Montreal. I don't know about the rest of you but as a fan I'm tired of the Bombers always window shopping & never buying. We better spend some cash to get this guy.
-
The safer way to go would be to fire Burke. Too much baggage if he stayed around. He lacks credibility as well as believability that he's the guy who can fix this.
-
How about trading Henoc Muamba for Collaros? Both free agents with Muamba maybe not coming back. Is it better to spend the money on Muamba or Collaros?
-
There's a week in there for deals. Toronto will want to make a deal then. Or at least they should. If we do swing a trade for Collaros better make sure we're prepared to pay. Whatever it takes.
-
Isn't there a freeze on trades leading up to the draft? How can we trade for Collaros if we can't? If I were the Argos, I'd take our second pick & maybe one starter to get something for Collaros as he will be drafted & they get nothing.
-
Well, it would be a disaster. Let's just say that. Fans would be hugely upset. And if you think people question the way the team is run now, just wait what'll happen if they bring back Burke.

It's not about what their background is, it's about whether they'd be a good head coaching candidate or not. I'm not saying don't hire an offensive guy, I'm saying don't hire an offensive guy just because he's an offensive guy, hire someone because they're the best option. When you hire a rookie HC with no experience you never know how it's going to go.... That's why I like Tom Higgins. Experienced, won a GC in Edmonton, rebuilt Calgary & has a ton of connections in the US & Canada. Yeah, you and I have been beating that drum since July. Sadly, I think the GM position is already locked up. It will be Walters as GM with Khari as HC. Where are you going to stand for the GC parade next November? Proven experience. Higgins has done it before everywhere he went. At the very least he'll get the Bomber organization pointed in the right direction like he did in Calgary.

Arash Madani: Miller Trying to Force Rick Worman On Walters
iso_55 replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'd love to see Miller try to sell the fans on keeping Burke. Then again, he raised ticket prices after a 3-15 season so nothing would surprise me in the way the team is run & the decision making. -
If Goltz comes back it means our off season quarterback search was an absolutely miserable failure.

Kavis Reed as Bombers new Defensive Coordinator?
iso_55 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
So, some recent offensive & defensive coordinators who bombed (sorry about the pun) having no prior CFL head coaching experience. Jim Daley, Urban Bowman (Hamilton) Mike Kelly, Rick Stubler, Richie Hall, Paul LaPolice, Danny Macciocia, George Cortez, Greg Marshall, Kavis Reed, Tim Burke. Any others I missed? -

Yes, just GC week not the entire month of November. Sorry but what that twitter message said was bull****. Coaches get fired in November after the season is over. They have before in the past. -

Henoc announced as Most Outstanding Canadian for the East

Well, (sorry Bluto) but there was nothing but CFL love for the Argos just like there's nothing but CFL love for the Riders. That's why Owens won. -
Tell you guys a story back to the day when my then 12 year old son played pee wee football & I coached on that team here in Calgary back in 2002. We had a 12 year old linebacker who was big. About 5'9 & 150 lbs. He was the best linebacker in the league & even kids on our team were afraid of him. In tackling drills we had to virtually throw our biggest bravest guys in there to go against him. I know kids on other teams were afraid of him as I heard kids from different teams talking about him. The kid was the dominant alpha male on our team & he definetly ruled on the football field. One game we played a team that had the best running back tearing up the league. This kid was a big back almost the same size as our linebacker & loved to run over tacklers The only way to really stop him was to spy wherever he ran. So, we got our big linebacker to do that thinking he'd shut the running back down no problem. Well, after the first half our alpha male linebacker was done & refused to play in the second half. He didn't like the kid lowering his shoulder running over him on every play as it hurt & he got scared. Our backer was crying on the bench & didn't want to go back in. That running back punished our linebacker not the other way around. As soon as our tough linebacker met another tough player he crumpled. He wasn't as tough as he thought & I think he was shocked at how the kid just kept running him over. That back was breaking off huge runs for touchdowns in the second half & we couldn't stop him. We ended up losing badly. I always thought that what happened was a great personal lesson to our player. He got to feel the way other smaller kids felt when he hit or tackled them. He got scared & was intimidated. Maybe for the first time in his life. So, this happens a lot in pee wee & bantam. As a coach we really had to be vigilant & make sure our smaller players were protected because of the size difference. Same with the officials & that's why referee calls like this fairly or unfairly are made at the lower levels. It's not about being a tough football player. It's about preventing injuries on the field & for the bigger kids to stop headhunting smaller ones.

You sound surprised? He'd have got a substantial raise even if he didn't win the nomination as he was our best player. -

To me there's no way you don't give MOP to Ray. Yeah he missed games but he was just that kinda good when he played that he was the most outstanding player this year. The numbers he put up were just ridiculous. The numbers Cornish put up were ridiculous as well & he played 17 games. I just can't see how Cornish doesn't win MOP. -

Listen to the Miller interview & what he thinks of Mack. Not good. -

I don't like that rule. The week of the GC sure I get that but the rest of the month? Ridiculous. Just as ridiculous as having the expansion draft in mid December & not late January when teams will have new management & coaching in place. Let CFL teams do what they need to do the first 3 weeks in November. But wow, a team announcing a firing the week of the semi finals? Blasphemy!! -
On the flip side, a lack of healthy qbs in the West gave Durant the All Star qb spot by default.
