  1. No, I meant to say klfseruoycs na zttoidipirn.
  2. Whatever, Mikey. You can go back to your mom's basement now.
  3. Wally was the "permanent" GM in Calgary for 13 years. He's also been the permanent GM in BC since the end of 2003. Look at Jim Popp in Montreal & how long he's had that position. You say GMs aren't permanent? Permanence depends upon performance. It's already been discussed how Mack has handcuffed the Bombers & Tim Burke with the things he did. Even though Burke is a terrible head coach maybe had Mack brought in Kevin Glenn & some other players things would have been different this season. The other thing is just because Wade Miller says Walters will be here long term doesn't mean he will be. A new President & GM will mean a change in direction. The new GM may decide he can't work with Walters & decides to let him go. You have to believe that the new President whoever he is would back his GM on that one entirely. Lots of things can happen with new people in here. Walters is safe IF Miller is retained. The direction that Miller & Walters are taking this team may only be if they are permanent. Other people may do things differently. Then we stop dead in the water & change directions again. Twice within 6 months. Is that good? I don't know. The longer this goes on, the more I think there'll be no exhaustive search for either position so stop with the charade & make these guys permanent.
  4. Makes no sense. There is no such thing as a "permanent" position. You have to let them make moves. To suggest otherwise is foolish. And then they move on & others are left to pick up the pieces. That's what I don't like. That is what is scary to me here.
  5. Like I said Catch 22. A no win scenario right now.
  6. This is a crazy situation. You know yourself that every football executive has a different vision for how a team should be built. What Walters & Miller might think is a good move, the other guy coming in may not like the things that were done because he didn't do them. If they remove the interim & make both of them absolutely 100% responsible for the makeover of this team, then fine. But if not, then leave their mitts off of it until everyone knows where they stand. Wade... not Wayne... already says he's got other businesses to run that he can go back to if things don't work out. So, how do I interpret that? Is this the job he really wants?? Can he give 100% & more to the team & the fanbase to turn things around? Do we want a President who while, may be a "football guy", may not be 100% totally focused on rebuilding this team because his other business interests take up his time? When someone takes a job like this upon himself & thinks it's a part time gig & he thinks he can juggle his other interests along with it, it kinda makes me nervous. This team has to start making some huge choices soon. The fanbase is pissed off yet Miller seemed to barely acknowledge that in the interview. I just hope the situation we are in now at the management level turns out to be the right one.
  7. But if there's a chance the interim GM won't be there then he doesn't have any business making deals because a bad deal can handcuff another GM. It's a Catch 22. So, make them permanent. Not a good situation the longer it goes on. All they truly are, are caretakers. That's all interim should be.
  8. I have a problem with interim people making long term decisions for this team. I strongly believe they shouldn't be making personnel decisions that others may not agree with if Miller & Walters aren't in these positions themselves. Just a strange way to do business. The Bomber business model is broken. Make these guys the President & GM permanently or tell them hands off until the people they hire step in. Be caretakers only if they are interim.
  9. Other than the Chris Williams debacle, I think Austin has done well. The Ti Cats are a better overall team this year especially on defense after a horrendous start for that unit. I like the guy. He has a plan & has stuck to it. is a no nonsense head coach. I get the feeling he coaches using a little bit of fear as Dave Ritchie did which keeps his players on thie toes. Contrast our team where Burke never gets upset nor do his players. No one seems to be worried if they play terrible.
  10. Three other teams will be looking for head coaches after the season. We can't just sit back & say we'll be doing our evaluation of the team once the season starts. I'm sure Miller & Walters already know what needs to be done. Hopefully decisions will be made quickly after the season ends as to what direction we're going in.
  11. yeah I'm calling bullshit on that one. You want him to flame out so you can crow about how you knew all along he was a bust. Nope. I'm not happy at all with what I see but if he does well next season then it's all good. This is the CFL. He's a pro football player. He gets paid to play. It's not high school or CIS. He has to compete & excel as well as do it extremely hard everyday. Like I said if he does I'll verbally eat crow here. Besides, I know you'll be feeding it to me on a giant platter.
  12. I hope Kavis Reed & Tim Burke like AMC's "Walking Dead" because that is what both of them are right now. Nearly half the CFL teams will be looking for head coaches (Winnipeg, Edmonton, Montreal & Ottawa) so we better not waste any time firing Burke or cheap out when it comes to paying someone qualified.
  13. I really would like Jade to do well as he is a Blue Bomber. I just don't think he will. If the kid does does break out then yes, I'll have a lot of crow to eat but I'll be happy to do it.
  14. Yep. Okay with that.
  15. And speaking of Chris Bauman, he has been on the injured list with Calgary since breaking his wrist on the second day of training camp this season. He finally recovered & was beginning to practice at full speed & the Stamps were probably going to activate him onto the playing roster. Well, guess what? He tore his ACL at practice yesterday & is now gone for the remainder of the year. He's been injured almost since he got here two seasons ago. So, once his contract is up & he recovers, I'm sure he'll be moving on again.
  16. So, Coehoorn trash talks like 90% of the players in the league & that makes him an ass? Most dbs like to run their mouths so that doesn't surprise me. I don't dislike Etienne. Matter of fact after the Calgary game I was hoping he had turned the corner but then he just disappeared while other receivers were making catches & then he injured his neck. I just think that he's never going to amount to anything more than a journeyman receiver like Chris Bauman. He may play 7 or 8 seasons in the CFL but it won't be with just the Bombers. He'll start playing for multiple teams just like Bauman. I believe that if he doesn't start showing he can be an impact Canadian receiver then he'll become a depth player on the bench. Lots of players have made careers out of that & maybe that'll be his niche. He'll have to become a very good special teams player to stay in the CFL if he becomes a backup receiver.
  17. Coehoorn a slight upgrade? That's an interesting statement. He's more than just a slight upgrade. And Jade's a nice guy but Coehoorn's an ass? Tell me more? Seriously, Etienne's had one good game as a pro vs Calgary... That's it. You guys can trash me all you like on this one because it doesn't matter. I won't shed a tear if the guy leaves as a FA or is drafted by Ottawa in the expansion draft.
  18. In brown nose mode.
  19. He may flourish & he may not like Chris Bauman. Etienne has started & gone entire games without a catch. Jabari Arthur is finally playing like everyone thought he could in Calgary. How long do you wait? Considering you've been finding every excuse under the sun to not wait for him for almost 3 full years now, I find that comment to be pretty amusing. Three full years says it all. Thanks Mike. I think the point is, are you implying we should have waited 5 or 6 years for Jabari Arthur? That's what your previous post implies. No, I didn't say that. I just said it took 6 years before Arthur finally started to play. And good thing for him as he was on his last legs with the Stampeders. It may have never happened in Arthur's case so in the case of a player supposedly going to break out, how many seasons do you give him to do that because it isn't guaranteed. Besides, all you guys lovin' Etienne have all written off another young receiver Kito Poblah. So, it goes both ways. I think Etienne's a bust & nothing short of a season where he picks up 700 to a thousand yards will change my mind. And funny how members here think Nate Cooehoorn somehow isn't that great of a receiver because I've read comments here & on OB where there are fans who don't think he's very good either. I'd take Coehoorn over Etienne as a receiver in a heartbeat. We could have had him too but Mack never drafted him.
  20. Talk about politicking to keep his job in the media. The thought of him staying is a disgusting one. Nice guy but a clueless head coach. I wish he was fired weeks ago.

  22. but the offense was never THIS bad. How come Burke can't get his defense playing up to that level again? Is that not part of a head coaches job? Getting coordinators in here who can get the most out of their respective areas of the team? That's why Lapo was fired after all. Mack hasn't put anything good on the field. It's well known that Creehan was Burke's buddy from their days going back to Calgary. Burke hired a friend. Not the best person available which is The Bomber Way. A defensive coordinator who was lousy last year in Hamilton. I remember how happy people here were when Burke hired him. Yeah, but Creehan has so much "fire." Who cares about how well his squads performed. He's fiery! That's what really matters. He's a nutcase on the sidelines. Seeing him looking defeated says it all. The jig's up.
  23. Have to start somewhere & coaches & managers have to be the ones to go first if they put winning ahead of player safety. Matt Dunigan said that even he would still play even knowing what he knows now about concussions which is pretty shocking. People do stupid things but if Reed said Reilly wouldn't play then he wouldn't as he is tyhe HC with the last say on personnel. So, I blame Reed for the majority of this situation.
  24. No, it doesn't change my feelings towards the game but what it does do is make me hope that concussion protocols & advancement in medicine help make concussions less of a problem for players in their later years. What it also does is make me want to weed out coaches like Kavis Reed who is putting Mike Reilly at risk. What is disturbing is how quiet the CFL is in what is going on in Edmonton right now.
