Has apathy hit this board??? Wow, ghost town... Not hard to understand though. This loss didn't even upset me. No one else seems upset either. It's like a "Whatcha gonna do?" response. What upset me was Suitor telling the world he believes Tim Burke will be retained. That was a WTF moment with me. I'm like, would the Bombers actually be that stupid?
-
Well, if you take away all the Stamps scoring drives, Glenn throwing for 300 & Cornish running for 208 yards it wasn't all that bad.
-
Is Etienne a healthy scratch?
-
This isn't the first time. That's the cold hard truth.
-
All these "veteran moves" as Suitor calls them. Basically what he's saying is the refs are stupid. That they are suckers & receivers can fool them whenever they want.. He may be right but it just calls into question their integrity & training... On the play he was talking about, Bagg had to hold up to try & make the catch... I didn't think there was PI on that play. On the Dressler TD, I wish offensive players would be called if they use the goalpost to their advantage. There is a rule in place for that but it's hardly ever called. Regarding Sheets, how many times last night did we hear, "Okay, it took a quarter"... Just over & over.
-
Didn't see the first game. In the second game, well after watching an atrocious effort by the Lions I turned the game off in the fourth quarter. I got sick of Suitor telling us about how Sheets was back.... How he would have rushed for 2,000 yards, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

Really, why? Give us your take. Well ... the suggestion that Alex Hall is somehow worth Darian Durant is laughable, just for starters. I don't think it's a trade for Durant but a trade for Willy. I don't find this trade talk comedic at all but scary. My fear is if we make that trade Walters & Miller will go, "There we got our qb. We're done!" And that'll be it as as far as the team is concerned & they won't go after a guy like Collaros if available. With so little playing time, we have no idea just how good or bad Willy is. yet I'm willing to say that the morons who run this team would be willing to hand him the keys to the team. That's why I don't want anything done about our qbs until after the expansion draft when the dust settles. Willy should be one of our options. Not the only one. And if we trade for him, then knowing how the Bombers work, it will be. So, is this thread funny? Not one ******* bit. Well your fear won't be realized because Willy is not going anywhere yet, so you have nothing to worry about. Plus you're not giving Walters very much credit. It's pretty early to call him a moron. I mean, it took Joe Mack at least a season to be called one. Like I said, live with the qbs we have now & make changes in the off season...

The coaching staff better as well.

He knew what he was signing. He used a loophole to get out of it. He sat almost the entire year. Fulfill his contractual obligations then go. Nope, I have no reason to cheer for him.
-
Signing & playing are 2 different things.... Not a fan. I kinda hope he fails.

Selinger promising to put fan-elected board in place
iso_55 replied to Uncle Bill's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It all boils down to the Board finding the right person to run the team. If they do that & we start winning, we'll pack IGF for years to come. If the Bombers do what they've done for the most part since Cal Murphy left after the 1995 season & hire people who never should have been hired then this team will continue to struggle on the field & at the gate... If it's business as usual meaning the hiring of friends over the person who is right for the job... or... hiring inexperienced people because they come cheap, we'll continue to lose... For example, if they hire Walters over say, a guy like Higgins it will be inexcusable. And we will know nothing's changed. My question is who hires the President? Who is going to tell Miller he's not the right fit if he isn't? Who has the guts to?? -

I believe the only way out of this mess is through private ownership. Somehow but the stadium debt is a problem. -

What can he do other than publicly complain? -
I have no sympathy for Williams.
-
I think he lost. Couldn't sign with an NFL team in the off season so he missed OTA's & training camp. Now, rosters are set. If an injury comes up he can sign but he isn't in game shape like other returners. And in the NFL the return game is disminished. He's in tough. I think his agent gave him some real bad advice. He's missed an entire season paycheque so far.
-
A bigger disincentive is for wannabee players to work at Walmart waiting for their NFL break. The CFL will always be here. The loohole with Williams will be closed this off season. Only CFLPA certified agents will be used to represent players.... Williams found a loophole & took advantage of it. Yeah, he had to wait but because of it no CFL GM in their right mind will deal with a non certified agent from now on.

Williams bombed once in the NFL.... I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. Sorry pardon the pun.

Reilly out indefinitely (probably rest of season)
iso_55 replied to kelownabomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You have to wonder how much pressure Hervey & Reed are putting on the team doctors to play him. I'm hoping a physician would tell both of them to **** off if they demand he clears Reilly if he is borderline ready. After what I've seen of Ed Hervey I wouldn't be surprised if this is going on. -
Yeah, I'd laugh too.

From management down to coaching & training, hard to trust that organization. -
So, blitzmore give us your choice.

Can't we just enjoy the win? When the Blackhawks score a weak goal or run into a team who has an off night, do they debate afterwards whether the two points they earned is worth any less than a win where they dominate? A win is a win. As a fan, take the win...

LOL! Dave will never play again. I know it is wishful thinking.... Just so you know. I know Dave quite well as he coached my son at his qb schools he holds in Calgary a few years back. We still talk occasionally & go for coffee every so often. I leave the guy alone during the season as he is very busy so usually at Xmas time we get together. He was really beat up when he retired. He has concusssion issues but not a lot of people know that he had a torn rotator cuff that needed surgery. When he retired he could no longer throw the football. He had his shoulder surgically repaired a couple of years ago. He told me that he was having a lot of problems just chucking the football 10-15 yards before the surgery & it was hampering his ability to coach qbs at the time. The game & all of the pounding sure took a toll on Dave over the years. He doesn't miss playing & is very content coaching. .
