  1. Yes, Buck is gone. What have we learned that we wouldn't have if he was still here? That Goltz won't be staying on. That Hall can move the ball well, but isn't the long term answer. Laying the blame on Burke is for the blame that needs to be laid on Burke...nothing more. Will Goltz be staying on? That's the question. WTH was he doing back in there??? If he was number 3 then Boltus should have gone in. Seeing Goltz in at qb really angered me because I don't want to ever see him at the helm of our offense again. There was no chance with Goltz in last night.
  2. Flip side is why are their fans who hate Burke so much calling out his coaching ability yet treat Joe Mack with kid gloves? Saying that if we were more patient he'd have built a winner. There's absolutely no proof that would have ever happened. Why can't these fans be as critical of Mack as they are of Burke? This team doesn't have the talent & that was the responsibility of Joe Mack. we've been over this, I'm not being too easy on Mack, I'm just sticking up against a lot of the unfair criticisms that have been leveled at the guy. As for why I'm hating on Burke, well that much is obvious. 6-16 I think is his record as Bomber coach and most of those 16 losses were games that the team never ever had a chance to win. This is the worst Blue Bomber team I've ever had the misfortune of watching and that says a lot. Burke has been a turd of a head coach since his first game on the job (a rather memorable 52-0 loss) I'm not going to go round & round with you on this because as you say, we've done that but... that turd of a coach you refer to was hired by Joe Mack. Everything with this team & what's happened to it has Joe Mack's fingerprints all over it. He is the architect of this disaster of a team we support. BTW, I do agree that the sooner Burke is gone the better.
  3. So was 28,000 in attendance. That attendance count was flattering because there was nowhere near 28,000 at the game. I'd say 26,000 actual. Fans made a statement by staying away last night. The team stinks all around. Management, coaching & players. And the sentiment with the people I was with was there's no way the Bombers pay back the money they owe on the stadium. They're going to eventually default on the $90 million.

  5. The decision to play defence first is because it gives you a huge advantage in the overtime format. If you go offence first and find yourself on 3rd down, you pretty much have to kick a field goal. By going offence second, you already know what your opponent did, so if they scored a TD, you have the luxury of knowing you have to go for it on 3rd down. If they went FG, then you know you can kick the FG. Has nothing to do with resting defence or preparing your QB. Absolutely true. If you win the toss in OT you choose defense first for those very reasons.
  6. The secondary had blown coverages all night. How anyone can say the defense played well, I dunno. How can players who have been here all season long not know their assignments in a game where every play counts??? That is horrible coaching & execution. Or choke. I counted three or four occasions where receivers were wide open & Reilly hit them. We got pressure on Reilly & he STILL completed them. It seemed everytime we needed to hold the Esks on second or third & long we couldn't stop them especially the second half. I can put up with maybe a single mistake or a fluke catch because it happens but last night our secondary was disgraceful.
  7. Burke threw Demond Washington under the bus blaming him directly for the loss. The CFLPA said coaches & managers can't do this kind of stuff... He should be fired.
  8. Is Casey Creehan an Ass Clown in disguise? My ****** Gawd what was the defense doing out there???? So many busted coverages.... at the worst possinle times. Absolutely dreadfu!!! Mike Renaud's punting was abysmal & after Hall was injured in goes Goltz The Doltz & the resulte were to be expected. The other thing I noticed was how hard the Eskimo receivers fought for the football or just plain went up into the air & got it last night. Our receivers don't do that. As a group they don't fight for the football. We are passive even on a good day catching the football. The Eskie receivers outworked our secondary last night. They made Mike Reilly look a lot better than he really was.
  9. This team is absolutely lost. What was Goltz doing in there after Hall got hurt? I thought Boltus was #2? When Goltz went in how many of you thought he was going to pull this game out of the fire? If you said yes then you're lying.
  10. Braley bailed out Hamilton, BC & then Toronto. There may not have been a CFL if not for him. You can trash the man all you like but where are the owners with money??? Nowhere. Just like out in Atlantic Canada. Nowhere to be found out there, either.
  11. Wear that Brock jersey with pride and don't forget to numb the pain you will witness tonight with a raft of beers and nachos. Some of us will give you a silent thumbs up as we tuck tail and eat and drink the crap our wives make us as they try to turn us into the men they think we should be. I'm 230 lbs & don't consider myself fat. Could lose 20 lbs or so... That's about it. But I agree with you on the weight thing. And the fact that Reebok is now making tight jerseys for fans is completely stupid. When I have to fit into a 3XL jersey, it just remnds me of how much I hate Reebok.
  12. Ahh revisionist history. Burke was tapped as HC, because he was the most highly touted "next CFL HC" around the league. People were TERRIFIED we were going to lose him if we didn't promote him. Yeah, true to an extent so i will give you that. We know the best connected & most successful ex head coach & GM works in the CFL offices as Director Of Officiating & would jump at the chance to be a HC &/or GM again. We'll see how that goes. How do you know this exactly? Just wondering if this has been made public somewhere recently, because I sure haven't heard it yet. Sure haven't heard what? That he wants to coach &/or manage? That's pretty common knowledge.
  13. Seriously? Good on you. In town from Calgary. Will be seeing my second game of the season.
  14. I'm in town for the Bomber game so I went to the Bomber store yesterday to try on a new third jersey. The best fitting was a 3XL!!!! A 3XL??? I'm an XL to 2XL depending on the cut of clothes I buy for a shirt. The sales lady admited the jersey sizes are smaller than the others in the store. Certainly smaller than my Dieter Brock 70's jersey I'll be wearing to the game today.

  16. We keep hiring inexperienced guys to be HC & they are usually friends of Board members or managers. Frustrating.
  17. People had input .. whether or not it was listened to is another matter entirely. I questioned why we didn't draft any o-linemen this year. I was told there weren't any worth drafting. LIke Brent Jones in Calgary? What a steal for the Stamps.
  18. Change also happened in no small part to the fact that SF had been stockpiling draft picks and had a glut of talent available to them in high rounds of the draft .. good drafting and good coaching .. got the most out of that roster. Safe to say that Singletary would have alienated half the team & even with all the talent in the world the Niners would have failed. Hartbaugh came in & instilled a winning tradition right away. No excuses.
  19. It should have been penalized & Brackenridge fined leading with the helmet. Having said that, Brackenridge is lucky his brain wasn't scrambled on that hit. It sure can't be called a tackle.
  20. That is a very possible outcome. They have a strong team, and with that, Buck can excel. If they protect him. Our sack monsters could put him out of the game easily. I wish Buck all the best...except against us. Lions OL is barely better than ours. Lulay makes them look better then they are.
  21. I come here for two games....
  22. Getting a very good head coach is so important. Look what Jim Harbaugh did in San Francisco in such a short time. Under Mike Singletary, the team was accomplishing nothing. But the culture changed when Harbaugh came in. So, a team's culture can change quickly. It all depends who is in charge.
  23. Yeah, looks good
  24. According to Burke you will. I think if Hall struggles on Friday, he won't go back to Goltz. He'll go to Boltus.
