Yeah. Any fire Burke may have had has sure been extinguished, hasn't it?
-
You were expecting a sure-fire NFLer to come in? I guess my expectations were a little more than a bar two inches off the floor. With this team, I honestly don't know what to expect anymore. Honestly, I just wish you'd do some of your own research for once before you start complaining. Not to rag on MOAB but he posted the guy's college bio with his weight listing from 2 years ago. Jones hasn't weighed sub-300 since he left college and is most recently listed as closer to 305. He's also had NFL tryouts and comes from one of the better offensive line programs in the NCAA. I don't know what you expect, did you think we were going to go out and sign Michael Oher off the street? people are so down on our o-line and the americans that have been brought in lately that they just assume the worst because that's all we've seen. Exactly.... Like what am I supposed to think Mike? We've won 8 games in a season & a half? Our OL is a sieve & I'm being kind. And what will research tell me that your post on the guy's bio didn't?? Look at the scouting report. DEVELOPMENTAL PLAYER.

I think Durant is in Saskatchewan for years to come. He still is fairly young (early 30's) & has a few years left. It'll be Willy who goes not Durant.

No, it wasn't a terrible thing to say but like I said, all Burke had to say was there was a communication problem between the two & leave it at that... Like I said, players expect their head coach to have their back on a botched play.

Rough night? -
Great, a developmental project. Just what we need.

There were times when Goltz just hung onto the ball too long & looked indecisive passing. Can't just blame the OL even though as a group they are gruesome. Goltz couldn't get the ball out quick enough. There were plays when he had the time but didn't know how to find an open receiver. On the zone read Goltz looked clueless at times making the right decision. Goltz had a hard time reading the D End & OLB & I don't understand why as the rules are pretty simple. I didn't watch much of the second half as I had to go out so I honestly can't comment on the way Hall played. From what I saw Goltz was dismal.

Scouting has been terrible.

I listened to the coaches show. Before I did, I took comments in this thread that he indicated Goltz was finished (wish he was) but he really never gave me that impression. We may see him again unfortunately & probably will. The comment he made when he singled out the center on the bad snap, wow... I know most head coaches would have said something else entirely different to not implicate either the qb or center. The guy is honest, I'll give him that. Compare Burke to that sleezeball Tillman. However, players want their coach to have their back. Saying it was the center's fault won't make him play better on Friday. So why say it? All he had to say was that it was a communications gaffe between the qb & center & both have it worked out now. That's all Burke had to say & that would have been fine. Hate to say this but at times it sounded like Bob was leading Burke into saying things he knew could be misconstrued as inflammatory. Questions & comments he'd never do to Dave Ritchie, Cal Murphy or MIke Riley.

Yeah Gary, don't put a team in Quebec City. Bad for business. Don't care what Puck Daddy says.

Opinion noted... It won't take much to do better than Mack.
-
17 & I both know from living in Calgary that Bo Levi Mitchell is not coming to Winnipeg. The Stamps fanbase would be up in arms. Most want Drew Tate gone.
-
lol you're so ridiculous Thank you. And so are you. Have a nice daaay!

Two years may be too soon to cut a young qb... But three he should be on the field playing. And if he can't show promise or progress then cut him.

Wow, never realized a GDT was such a pain in the ass for mods. My sympathies.

He tried to take out Khalif Mitchell on Saturday. Well, it's Khalif Mitchell who I have no respect for but still... -
For the record, I will continue to bash Mack as often as I can, whenever I can. The team is no better & maybe even worse than when he was hired. Once we hire a General Manager who knows what he is doing I will stop. That may also be awhile.

Anyone going to Calagary game in October.

I buy Safeway tickets & sit in Section A or B way up just before the walkway. Those last 10 rows are particularily steep above that walkway. No railing. They are considered end zone seats but really aren't as you are still on the sidelines. -
I like how you say "why dwell on the past?" and manage to fit in a shot at Joe Mack in the same paragraph. Yeah, clever, huh?

Actually, we should have done that in the last half of last season... instead Burke fell in love with Buck's dreamy eyes. Now, it seems we may have ruined Goltz before he ever developed - it will take a while to get any confidence. Next up, Boltus! Goltz has been with the Bombers for 3 years. Just when was the right time for him to be developed? It was more than time to get him on the field. How many meetings can he go to if he still doesn't get it?
