He can come off the 9 game IR at some point if he'd ready so we may see him again. I think he should retire after the season.
-
That sounds just damned creepy.

I heard that comment from Hervey who was really putting down Rottier badly. Basically saying if he couid cut him, he would but can't because of the rules. Why else would they keep him around he asked?? Just cheap shotted Rottier,
-
Hervey said he won't release him because of the SMS rules whatever that means. But yeah, if I was Walters & he was cut for sure I'd sign him... At least we have a guy who if couldn't start would be good for depth.

Sure, Drew. What reefer are you smoking? Their new stadium will be a brand new modern POS. Look at the renderings...Edwards comments are comical. Especially when it comes to financing. The stadium isn't being built for the Ti Cats. It's being built for the 2015 Pan Am Games so naturally the financing will be totally different. I would have preferred a more functional roof than the the cantaliever design we have now but it's there & yes it is iconic.

Collaros stock has sure fallen. He looked terrible tonight. OTOH, I though BLM looked pretty decent after he got over the jitters after Glenn was injured. Well, Mr. COTY let's see how you do without Ray for another 5 weeks.
-
Of course he won't be a part of the bloodletting as there's no way he's responsible for the mess in Edmonton.
-
Hope he can play unlike Boatman.

I wonder who's bright idea it was...to have Kerry Joseph run to the outside on third and short? The got away with it down at the goal line...but the second time the Stamps were all over it. Doug Samms the soon to be former OC of the Eskimos. GM Ed Hervey was busy throwing him & Simeon Rottier under the bus this morning at a news confrerence. He said Rottier has played his last game as an Eskimo & that there'll be a new playcaller in place for Friday.

Contrary to popular belief Mack isn't the **** who struggles to tie his shoes that everyone seems to be painting him as since he's been fired. Makes a hell of a scapegoat though. He's a great scapegoat. Blaming everything on Mack also plays well with the "I told you so" and "we knew all along" crowd. I told you so. We knew all along.

Hey now, Creehan was a real good linebacker coach, there's no issues with him getting the DC job in Hamilton because as a positional coach he was successful so he took the next step. He failed at that next step but that doesn't mean hiring him for it was completely ridiculous. It was after what he accomplished in Hamilton last year. I remember that subject came up on that other site when he was hired.
-
What about our boy Casey Creehan? The CFL is all about recycling coaches. He never should have been a DC here let alone in Hamilton yet there he was being hired because of connections & given responsibilities he can't handle.

Burke won't commit to Goltz next game just yet. I think he wants Hall in next game & is waiting to see how his hand responds. Should be another circus this week at practice.
-
Probably rebus, just the way Bob & Penton were talking at the end made it sound like they felt Mack should have done more. Or, I interpreted it that way. We don't know what actually happened in discussions or what the offer was that Mack gave him. Just sucks to see him in a Rider uniform.

Cal-Davis is known for its academics so I think Khari is a pretty sharp dude as he graduated from there.

I don't think it was your saying a young executive should get experience but wanting to know why you think it would take another 5-10 years for Walters to have enough experience to be a GM. Hufnagel, Austin, Buono, Higgins, Popp and Barker are just a few examples of people who had coaching experience but little to no front office experience when they got their first GM job. And no I am not comparing Walters to those guys and I'm not even saying I think Walters should get the job. Just asking why 5-10 more years experience rather than say 3-4 more years? Jacquie, here's the thing... Walters is a young guy in his mid 30's. He has very little experience as a CFL coach & has only a few months experience as an AGM. He needs seasoning & experience. But I daresay learning under Mack isn't the way to do it. He needs to work under someone who is a winner. I think a guy who has been an AGM for 5 years or so is ready to step up which is only an arbitrary number in my mind. In 10 years Walters will be in his mid 40's & could still work another 20 years after that in the CFL. Walters is just getting started in his career. . Actually he turned 40 in July. Did you know that Walters and Austin both have the same amount of coaching experience (10 years). Austin has 3 years experience running a football program at the college level while Walters has 4 years. Yes I know Austin was running an Ivy League program and Walters a CIS program however I would think the biggest difference between running the two programs was budget. Again I'm not saying that Walters should get the job. I agree that a little more experience would be good but I disagree with arbitrarily picking a number and saying this is when he'll be ready. Forty is very young to be a CFL executive. That means Kyle Walters will still have 20, 25 -30 years of work life ahead of him in the CFL if he is successful. But... you do agree with me that Walters not ready now. And that is my point. Blitzmore wants to give Walters the job NOW. After 6 months as an AGM based on what??? Just what qualifies him now to be our new GM on a permanent basis? Blitzmore came after me saying what I said about experience was ridiculous. That I was being negative. When I flat out asked him to explain why he thinks Walters is ready now to be the Bombers GM permanently he backed off because he had nothing to say. I never said I didn't like Walters or that I don't think he'll ever be a CFL GM someday. I just believe the team has to go in a different direction. I think to really understand the league & how it works, I do believe an apprenticeship of at least 4 or 5 years is needed.

I can only hope Miller talks to Tom Higgins. Probably the most experienced guy out there with a proven track record. If Miller doesn't then he's wrong.

Good question. I do think that preferences for leaving to go elsewhere is always overidden by the amount of $$ being paid. People go a long way to work from home to make more money. I think if Mack had offered more then maybe Labatte would have stayed. Labatte's girlfriend could have moved to Winnipeg. Show Me The Money. I think it came down to that but it's me speculating.

Just to see Dwight Anderson blow up, yes!! He's loved in Hamilton as much as he's loved in calgary & that's not saying much. I hope he loses a game for the Riders so the fans turn on that idiot.
-
That's what I took away from it but I could be wrong.
-
You're right 17...but no way I would ever want to room with him...end of it for me. Sure, start an argument then don't finish. Typical. Nothing to say. I gave you your chance for a rebuttal & you can't.
-
8-1. That's quite the hell hole. If that's hell, what is heaven?
-
I have no idea why anyone would get upset about saying a young CFL exec should get more experience before he takes on the position of running a CFL team.

Did you hear the comments of Penton & Irving? Just wondering.
