I knew Taman didn't think Berry should be fired but didn't know he was against the Richie firing too. Taman was Ritchie's sidekick - he's not going to turn around and fire him after one year as GM... Look at Taman, if anything, he's too loyal... Bauer was not a fan of Dave Ritchie, I remember that... And Ritchie had this essentially bullet-proof contract that he negotiated post-Reinbold - like automatic extensions or something... Bauer wanted to install his own crew from Day One pretty much and just couldn't... 2005 and beyond, this is more of a Lyle Bauer team than anything else - judging by Taman's work in Sask right now, I wouldn't even be surprised if Lyle influenced some of the QB prospect trades and such. Bottom line is that Bauer flushed a good coach/GM and decent teams with some holes in 2005 and then again, in 2009... for 'his' guys - first Daley and Kelly... There is a total pattern - Bauer puts pressure on his GM/Staff... these guys hold onto vets too long under pressure, Bauer doesn't see results and blows everything up for no real reason. Let's hope Miller has some better football sense. Bauer, the great football executive. What a joke.

When the Bombers play their last regular season game, the second after the game is over, I expect the Bombers (Miller) to have fired Burke before he addresses the media for his post game scrum. The stench of this team is too much. The only thing saving Burke's ass right now is that there is no one available to take his place as they are all working for other teams right now. Burke can take Casey with him.

And how do you know Walters is not ready? He may be more ready than you think he is...certainly can't do any worse at this point! Ah, here we go again. Yeah, let's just make Walter, another personnel guy with no experience our GM. Let him learn on the job & make mistakes. After all, it's the Bomber Way. And why we keep losing.
-
Some people were clamouring to bring Bauer back... The guy did more damage to this team with bonehead moves like that & hiring Mike Kelly.

All I know it's a mess. A real mess. About as bas as I ever saw it & I go back to the Joe Zaleski years. Anyone around then as a fan will know how bad that regime was.

Canadian content not very good. But you can't cut Canadians so fore a quick fix has to be Americans. I'd say the entire secondary & Boatman. Like to see Buck gone once & for all but an all rookie type qb triumvirate??? Won't happen. Buck's here until the end of the season.

Huff makes half what Clements makes. -
If it's Boltus the Bombers can't even get that right.... Walters, what's a CFL vet? "Duh, someone who threw more than 10 passes?"
-
If this is the "Experienced CFL qb" the Bombers are bringing in, I'm just going, huh??? Look at the stats... Goltz & Hall individually have more CFL experience. http://www.cfl.ca/roster/show?id=3855

If Walters thinks Jason Boltus is the answer we're in trouble. I know Bellefeuille wants one of his guys but jeez... Trouble is, we have band aids but the patient is bleeding out...
-
After today, no point keeping him anymore. But that OL is as bad as I've ever seen & they have to share equally in this **** show. Why no new OL being brought in??? Until the 5 up front start doing their jobs, it's pointless offensively.

Buchko right in front -
Dunigan said Jason Boltus. Talked to Kyle Walters. I think he's a CFL veteran of 15 passes. Woot!

When teams are blitzing 8 guys, someone is not going to be blocked. That's not going to change until we put in a QB who can make a throw. We need hot routes. How can we have an offense where the qbs can't get rid of the ball quickly? Screens, too. Didn't see asny of that today.
-
Has to be Porter. Who else?
-
On Coaches Show. Buck with an upper body injury. Came out because of that. Hall hand injury. New qb coming in tomorrow. A CFL vet. Burke won't say who.

I forgot he was the coach in Calgary that cleaned up the mess that was Calgary in the early 2000's. 2 - 3 years of Higgins at the helm might be exactly what we need to get some stability and get this team back on track. Higgins was GM & Head Coach in Calgary & did a great job. He has the connections to hire great assistants & then lets them do their thing. But unlike Tim Burke, don't let that laid back almost shy persona fool you. He's the HC & GM. There's no doubt that he's in charge. -

WAR CRY: Calling all True Blue Bomber fans in SO

Good luck to you guys out there! -
Read today's story about Kyle Walters in the Freep & the change of philosophy with Mack gone. It'll clear up a lot of things about how the guy ran this team & the (lack of) relationships he had with other CFL teams. Walters had to call the other GMs in the CFL to open lines of communication with them as Mack never talked to them. I mean, what kind of bloody garbage is that????? He never talked to other GMs?? Like I said, to the Mack defenders on this board.... read that story & the quotes from Walters & then think of the way the Bombers were & still are perceived across the CFL & still defend him to the end.
-
from the sound of this article Mack spent the entire time he was GM sitting in a lawn chair sipping mai-tais. I don't get the aversion to signing other team's cast-offs. If you look at some of the schlubs on the Riders that are having great seasons this year it only makes sense that some players may be difference makers for you that couldn't fit in with another team. Why do you think I'm so frigging anti Mack here & why I hated the guy (still do) as a GM & slam him every chance I get? His philosophy sucked & we were stuck with him a year too long when it became apparent he was never going to build a winner here.

Go to your profile. You can do it from there.

This may sound great & no doubt Walters worked hard but I want an experienced GM in place who has won in the past. A guy who has successfully done it before. We've gone this route bringing in personnel guys who've never run a team (Mack) & it got us nowhere. Let's do it right this time. Let Watters learn the biz under someone other than Joe Mack.
