How Long Before The Club Makes A Big Move
iso_55 replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
A parking lot is badly needed. A retail, business, condos & apartment development is a badly needed component as well to bring in much needed revenues to the university. Out here in Calgary, the U of C is getting involved in this. With provincial governments cutting back funding, it only makes sense. -
Well, like all of us if we don't like our employers decision, we either get with the program or find another line of work. How many of us have felt slighted or unappreciated at work??? Most if not all of us.
-
That's all we need to make this team a complete cluster****. Hire Tillman. Look at his time in Regina with his babysitter. His antics before & when he was in court. Then trades Ray away in Edmonton. God, I hope not.

Higgins.... Best guy out there for us.

Yes. When it comes to Collaros. Are we going to give up a first rounder for him. We could have the top pick in the draft next year. We didn't want to do that for Reilly so why would we do it for Collaros? Even with a new GM I don't think that would happen.

How Long Before The Club Makes A Big Move

Burke with his, "I don't know anything about offense" quote really set this team up for failure. By not being involved in the offense & letting Crowton run the show himself. Then, in the off season not willing to bring in a qb coach to help out. If you look around the CFL, there's Jason Maas in TO, Jarious Jackson in BC, Cortez working with the veteran Durant & backup Willy in Saskatchewan, Huff & Dickenson in Calgary. All those teams are doing well. The ones struggling are Hamilton even though Austin is an ex CFL Grey Cup winning qb, he's the HC & has a lot on his table, Montreal, Edmonton & Winnipeg. No guys on those teams to work with their qbs & voila, they all suck. Definetly a correlation. -
Crowton should make like Dan Hawkins & get outta town.

Being cheap is why they're in this position in the first place & have been for years. -

You look at all that land behind the stadium that was the old golf course now lying there unused. First thing I think of is a parking lot for a couple thousand cars to ease the parking problem at the U of M. I can't see Bomber fans being happy about having to be bussed to the games for the next 40 years. I can also see the streets being widened around the stadium in the years to come. All in good time. -
The slings & arrows of outrageous fortune.

Hawkins Fired In Mtl, Popp To Take Over As Hc

I used to have a lot of respect for Calvillo. But this season he's been acting like a punk. He did throw his coaches under the bus. Now he has Jim Popp. No improvement there. -
Yes, the time has indeed come. No doubt. This went on far too long. No guarantee Goltz is the guy but he has to be given the opportunity to try.
-
What's Goltz gonna do? Pick a fight with him? Buck said it, so what? Should be water off a duck's back if that's the worst thing anyone ever says about Goltz. But yeah, he should have kept his mouth shut.
-
What Buck doesn't realize right now because his judgement is clouded. In 20 years time, this may be the best thing that happened to him. Someday he may become a successful head coach somewhere. It could even be in Winnipeg. One door closes & another opens. He's being given a chance to start a football coaching career. In the CFL. Not high school in the States somewhere but in the CFL. Hopefully he embraces it.
-
Agreed.
-
What Buck should have done was keep his feelings to himself with the media, play the good soldier as he is still being paid by the Bombers as an employee & say he'll do whatever he can to help them win. Then, in private... storm into Burke's office demanding an explanation. And if the answer isn't what he liked... retire. Or get in line, do the job asked of him & forever be quiet. Like I said, this team has more than proven their loyalty to Buck. Other teams (like BC) would have sent him packing a year ago.
-
You know, lots of players have to hang their helmets up before they're ready. Not may pro athletes walk away under on own terms. I was lucky enough to get to know Khari Jones when he lived here in Calgary. I can tell you he was so upset about having to retire because of his shoulder injury that he deliberately stayed away from football for 3 years until he felt he was ready to start a career as a coach. He needed to get the notion of still wanting to be a player totally out of his head before he could start a coaching career, he told me. Buck is constantly hurt. He can't finish one game, let alone a season. The Bombers more than held up their end of the bargain for Buck. He can think what he wants but if he is to still be a part of the team then he has to STHU & get on with it or leave & come to terms that his playing days are essentially over. That simple. Maybe Buck needs to do what KJ did, leave the team, step back completely out of football for a time come to terms with things.

AC had that chance. Now, he'll never leave on top. -
Mr. Perfect, the Bombers have given Buck every chance to be the long term starter. Too many injuries. Like I said before, how could he not see this coming? Only he didn't see the writing on the wall, it seems which tells me he's out of touch with reality. His comments about being upset didn't help. No one says he is now a cancer. But he should keep his true feelings out of the media out of respect to the Bombers & the loyalty shown to him by the team since he first arrived here.
-
Buck's lucky this team thinks enough of him to keep him around. Any other CFL team & he'd have been gone & out of football by now. The team has shown a lot of (misguided) loyalty to the guy over the years with his chronic injuries. He needs to keep his feelings to himself & help out wherever he can as there's not a lot of sympathy out there for a cry baby. Or if he can't do that then he should simply retire & leave.

Today was the day. If the Bombers get blown out in BC then expect even bigger things to happen. -
Mike, this is a great place. The site is growing & doing well. We certainly have a ton of discussion for a site with almost 200 members. Great job to everyone! I believe that Bluto deserves also credit for the success here as well. He's an Argo fan but he really shouted out on facebook about getting people to join. That's how I found out about Morning Big Blue. Thanks Bluto!
