I think we were all surprised just how good some of the next generation of qbs looked this weekend. I mean, in some ways if these guys are as good as they appear they're going to be then they are better long term starters then some of the guys we have now playing. I think the future of the CFL at the qb position looks bright. Kinda exciting actually.

That's because all the serious Bomber posters are here now. And with a mod like Shankman doing his thing over there people won't go back.

Nah, to mass troll would be classless & stupid. Just goes to show that the split was long overdue. People wanted a new place & this is it. Bluto no doubt remembers 13thman & just how huge that CFL site was 10 years ago & how **** mods killed it through their arrogance, being bullies & idiocy. It had to have a couple of thousand members at its height around 2004. It was THE place to hang out as a CFL fan on the internet in the first decade of this century. It was a great place if you liked get togethers & socializing. Especially the fans down east. Little harder out west but fans hung together at Grey Cups at Meet & Greets. If you were an insider you were treated like gold. If you weren't then the mods targeted you. I remember being threatened by a mod over there named lerriuqs in a private message saying he was out to get me permanently banned. My crime? I posted too much in the senior mods opinion & I didn't like the Riders as lerriuqs is from Regina. The day that most if not all Eskimo fans quit en masse in & around 2007 after a pissing war with Rider fans was the actual end of that place although it took a few more years for it to die off. It is a ghost town now. At some point, members will abandon a site after realizing that place is no fun anymore & they leave.

Lyle Bauer is a big part of the culture problem on this team & the reason we are where we are today. He hired Dave Ritchie, fired Ritchie, hired Jim Daley, fired Jim Daley, hired Berry, fired Berry, hired Mike Kelly & Kelly absolutely destroyed our Canadian player base & alienated everyone by being a total idiot. The scary part is Bauer still doesn't think Mike Kelly did anything wrong here or is a bad head coach. When he was with the Stampeders a couple of years ago he said to one of the sports media types in Calgary that if he had to do it all over again, he'd still hire Mike Kelly back. You should have seen the reaction that got from Stamps fans worried that he'd somehow convince Stamps ownership that he & not John Hufnagel should be running the on field side of the Stampeders.

I guess I look at where I'd rather see Drew Tate. In an Ottawa uniform or a Blue Bomber. If he switches teams I'd rather it be here.

The longer he's a mod the more people he'll piss off & they'll migrate here. Which is a good thing. Grumpy Old Man was a mod there for awhile but isn't anymore. I wonder what happened?

Never understood the infatuation with 5'9 inch corners. Burke's attitude that little guys should quit is ridiculous. Bring in players who have the physical size & ability to cover & tackle.

Winnipeg Enterprises was a city owned corporation that was set up to run both the Arena & the Stadium. The Bombers & Jets paid rent to the city through Winnipeg Enterprises & in turn they looked after both buildings. It was a political entity & a lot of councillors wanted on that board as it meant free tickets to Bombers, Jets & concerts. Some say Enterprises overcharged for rent & that the 2 teams had a hard time dealing with them or getting improvements done. I do know this that when Enterprises ran the stadium it was kept in much better condition than in the end as the Bombers couldn't afford the upkeep.

Looking forward to the Stamps playing those guys & they get some actual competition. The TSN love affair with that team just stinks. Glad Rod Black didn't do the game as he'd be all over the Riders slobbering how good they are. TSN just makes me want to puke.

Well, time to air some dirty laundry here: I'm not surprised it was Shankman who drove you away. The guy is on a power trip. I like Colin. He's a friend of mine in facebook. But he just doesn't seem to have a strong grip on what his mods are doing there. He actually offered me a mod position when the split happened a couple of months ago. I just told him that I wanted to stay neutral & support both sites. Then within a week of turning down the mod position at OB, I suddenly had 3 warnings with Shankman stalking me & complaining about the things I said. Telling me to behave. As a longtime member over 10 years at OB, I don't need some neophyte mod who I never heard of telling me what to do. That's when I dropped OB & came here exclusively. Colin won't like me saying this but I really think all he's interested in is the technical side of a website & that's about it. Once its done he likes to move on to other things. Doesn't seem to care if people leave or stay. Just about every major poster who made OB what it was are now here. You'd think he would try to retain as many members after the split & not have them quit. I felt bad when I told Colin on facebook I couldn't support OB anymore with a mod like Shankman pushing his weight around & that the guy is driving members away but no response. I doubt if he ever talked to him telling him to chill out on the members. Anyway, that's his problem, I guess. If Colin ever replaces Shankman as a mod I might go back but not while he's there. Meanwhile, I'm so impresssed with this site & don't even miss the other place.

Bottom line, the Bomber organization is too inept to keep running this dog & pony show. I think within 5 years the team will be privately owned. And the debt will be retired in some way. Or probably forgiven. , reduced....

Yes. if I was a Director, I'd be terrified. How does this team service the debt & make money with 25,000 or less in the stands which is what is going to happen. The BOD got the team into this mess by making bad decisions. The rot starts at the very top.

You guys are doing it right, voodochyle. We are passionate about our team & after this years start the frustration is sure there. Sometimes like a pot on a stove, things boil over. We all care.
