  1. Goltz was a threat to run yet we never exploited that once. He wasn't any kind of threat in the zone read. We need to make the defense account for him. Right now, it's 12 on 11.
  2. My God, now a supplement store is having a sale because Pierce keeps getting hurt. How baaad is that??? Tacky at its best.
  3. I thought Anderson was pretty good.
  4. Yeah, I think we do...
  5. I think Goltz left some plays on the field because once he found success in the first quarter he went away from what worked & tried to push the ball deeper downfield. The kid is a rookie starter. he needs help to stay with what works. WE NEED A FREAKING QB COACH. Someone he can talk to after he comes off. Someone to discuss his selection of routes, pump him up when he needs it or give him **** when he screws up. Crowton can't talk to him as he is too busy with other stuff in a game.
  6. Like Brown says, we have the talent here but the plays aren't taking advantage of that talent. Square peg in a round hole. Coaching.
  7. Absolutely right....
  8. Entire staff. Coaching. And Burke is clueless as a HC.
  9. Berry is with Montreal. LaPo will never come back with Mack here. Why should he?
  10. Offensively, Goltz was impatient at times trying to get the big play instead of being patient. He needs to be willing to have more ball control type of drives. We need to get 5-7 yards on first down. makes it easier to convert on 2nd down. Simpson was much better running the football. Taking time off the clock is important. On defense, we don't blitz. No pressure on the qb. All kinds of time to throw. Our secondary is in constant chase mode because of it. Mind boggling.
  11. This is all about coaching. It's coaching.
  12. The craptacularism continues. How long is this going to be allowed to go on???
  13. Gonna be interesting to see the rookies play at qb.
  14. Just look at how Lyle Bauer firing Berry & hiring Mike Kelly set the Bombers back. What, almost half a decade??? Unbelievably stupid. As far as I am concerned Lyle Bauer is totally to to blame for everything that is wrong with the team now. Really hard for me to forgive him for doing what he did. When he went to the Stamps, I figured he would stab Huff in the back to be able to eventuall run the football side of the operation. He never got that chance.
  15. Did you say IMPROVE the fan experience on Game Day???
  16. Thank God 17 reminded me of the Ignore function. Mmmm.... Ignore function.... Nice.
  17. Sure, it'd be amusing to watch but not enough where he couldn't go work for a CFL team.
  18. Friggin' Ottawa & that damned draft... Don't get me started.
  19. I was going to mention that in my response to you but didn't. That is the ultimate conflict of interest. Like to see Braley unload the Lions & concentrate solely on the Argos as that team needs strong ownership to survive. But that is a discussion for another thread.
  20. What grey area? He resigns his position with the CFL & then goes to work for the Bombers. No conflict of interest. It would though, be interesting to see his first verbal clash with a head referee on a bad call. Amusing, actually. Football coaches go from job to job seemlessly. They work for a team one year then coach against them the next. I can't see Higgins leaving the CFL to coach a specific team as being a problem.
  21. Forde may be great with evaluating CIS players but he has zero connections down south.... And that is exactly where our qbs come from. Hiring him to be anything other than a Canadian Player Personnel Director would be foolhardy. And we already have Walters there now doing the job. Duane Forde has zip for experience. Personally, if Mack is fired Forde's the last guy I want running this team because he has absolutely no connections in the US or any kind of football managing experience. Meanwhile in Toronto there is a man who is Director Of Officiating For The CFL who would fit into the Bomber organization like a hand inside a glove.
  22. All young qbs go thru their ups & downs. I remember Lulay being benched in 2009 or was it it 2010 for poor play. But with Reilly he has to deal with that fool Kavis Reed on the sidelines.
  23. I'm with TBurg on this. You don't hang onto people you can't win with. Mack's had 3 full seasons. He's hired 2 head coaches & this team is adrift. Rudderless. Going nowhere. I think the jury is still out on Burke. We'll know by seasons end with the guy but because of Mack, if he isn't the guy as HC then if we fire him, we still owe him 2 more years so he can put his feet up & get paid to do nothing. This team is a mess right now & to me this all on Joe Mack if it fails. If it continues, then status quo for the sake of consistency is wrong as well. Lotta "ifs" in there because it's still early in the season.
  24. The problem with a coach like Kavis "There Has To Be Consequences" Reed is that when HE SCREWS UP all eyes are on him with little or no sympathy. He's the HC, his OC messed up on that last play with the most ridiculous play he could have called. If there are consequences for players messing up, then there should be consequences when Reed & his staff mess up. What a performance from a guy who knows everyone is watching him on TSN. The pathos & the agony. He's never happy, always pissed off, yelling, screaming, pointing fingers & after all that... Reed gets a new contract from his GM buddy Ed. Nice job, Edmonton.
