  1. Absolutely disagree. Having a salary grid would protect players from the things the Riders are doing. And from players asking too much. It would also make the salary cap easier to manage in my opinion. The NHL & (I believe) the NFL has a salary grid for players signing their first contract. Seems to work for those leagues.
  2. Which is too bad.
  3. That's what I take out of this. The Riders set the tone of negotiations here.
  4. I remember when Ali was a conscientious objector & refused to report for military duty. People back then felt he was a coward for not wanting to serve in the Viet Nam War. Not sure exactly when things turned around for Ali with the public back in the day. I do remember the fight with Joe Frazier in 1971 at Madison Square Garden. That was the biggest fight ever in the boxing world at the time & still may be to this day. I think the anticipation of his return really was the beginning of the love for the man we see today.
  5. I agree. Winnipeg has 700,000 people. Not seven million. With the new developments going in close by it's time to make the intersection above ground accessible again.
  6. Ali always was thought of as a pretty boy. A guy who could beat his opponent with his speed, agility & ring smarts. He was tough as well. Not just as a boxer but as a fighter. Fighting Parkinson's Disease for 32 years. With courage, dignity & grace. RIP Muhammed Ali.
  7. Football has specific position numbers so if you retire a lot of numbers what then? In hockey you can have players wear any number. You can't have OL constantly reporting in because too many numbers have been retired. When's the last time you saw a running back or qb with the number #98?? Pictures from 1954??
  8. Memo to Walters. Don't draft any more receivers from Saskatchewan. Doesn't work out.
  9. I'm sure it'll say Chris Walby #63. You can't retire every number or they'd run out of them.
  10. Well, I see you want to play that game. Okay, I'llplay. You can't say he didn't. Anyway I'm done. Jackson was a pervert & I won't change my mind.
  11. Agreed. If we are going to laugh at other teams celebrations then young men dressed as lumberjacks with power saws making wooden frisbees when a TD is scored ranks right up there.
  12. My respect for Murphy? Don't know what to say... I thought he was a lot smarter than what he's shown in Saskatchewan so far. People who follow the CFL closely say his selections in the CFL Draft this season wasn't very good, the Mo price deal, letting Dressler AND Smith walk. Now JSJ? More bad than good.
  13. I read your post, TUP. I just took it to be an extremely rich guy who paid people off to stay out of jail. Just like Polanski taking off to avoid prosecution. Except Jackson did it multiple times. I fail to see how one child is more important than a number of others. If Rich doesn't want me to comment anymore, I won't.
  14. Injured?
  15. What's the scoop on Richards?
  16. They may have to go International at RT if Neufeld continues with injury issues. Scouts will have to bring in some tackles. I'd have preferred they'd have done more during the off season to address the issue. Since he got here & even in his time with the Riders, Neufeld hasn't shown he can play an entire year or be depended upon. Giving him a starting spot on the OL at RT with his injury track record is extremely risky.
  17. So, Jackson was a just a poor misunderstood & mixed up guy who wanted to relive his childhood by sleeping with kids? You claim you "don't believe for a second he was a pedo" yet you don't know for sure. I just sense a ton of hypocrisy here. You defend a sicko like Jackson & want justice a half century later for Polanski.
  18. JSJ has every right to ask for whatever he wants after the Riders disrespected him.
  19. You obviously have a hard time recognizing sarcasm.
  20. And the difference between how Hollywood treats Pop Icon Jackson is how much you willing to pay to keep these little kids & their families quiet?
  21. Why'd they let this become a problem?
  22. MJ sleeping with kids & to assume nothing happened? That's just sick. We all know justice is not equal in the eyes of the law. One law for the rich & then another for everyone else. To think that MJ could innocently crawl into bed with a 10 year old kids & nothing ever happened is pure fantasy. And naive.
  23. This happened 33 years ago?? Wow. How could the cops botch an investigation like this.
  24. Yeah, how stupid were we? We signed Dressler & could've kept Moore. Dressler is so done.
