  1. Maybe but... meeting alien species along the way. Then dealing with them. Janeway went light years out of her way to either piss alien races off or interfering in disputes by picking sides completely throwing the PD out the air lock.
  2. More like an all night bender... He just looks terrible. All the time. Obviously Burke gets his styling tips from Mike Smith. (KBF will know what I mean)...
  3. I never cared much for janeway. To me, anyway she had few redeeming qualities. I just found her to be arrogant to the point of being stupid. Like they're trying to get home after she marooned her crew 70,000 light years from Earth. You'd think they'd be trying to ration resources. Instead, she runs off course constantly exploring scientific objects or planets. Her only objective should be just to get home as fast as they can. Yet she puts her crew in harms way all the time. Just the use of the replicators in Neelix's kitchen in the mess hall or in crew's quarters must have been a huge drain of resources yet they carried on like it was no big deal.
  4. My thoughts & prayers to the City of Ft McMurray. Be safe. Property & possessions can be replaced but a life can't.
  5. Everytime I see Tom Clements on the Packers sideline talking to Aaron Rodgers I just wish he was here & think about the good old days when he was our quarterback. That #2 jersey may be too small to wear but I appreciate it seeing it hanging in my closet.
  6. No, just figured that since it's on CBS albeit not the regular network that it would be a standard 22 episode season. Wanna bet that if this series becomes a hit that it won't be on the main network at some point?
  7. Riders Tearrius George retires after being charged with domestic assault. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatoon/tearrius-george-riders-retire-1.3564573
  8. When CBS brings back Star Trek it would be a 22 week season chopped in 2 like they do now with their other shows. There may be 2 story arc over the season.
  9. Best of luck in Hefney's retirement as a Blue Bomber.
  10. It hasn't shrunk THAT much!!
  11. My road #2 Tom Clements from 86 is more like a tee shirt than a jersey now.
  12. I'm going to be an Owl asking 2 questions. Who? Who cares?
  13. Roland Penner. I remember him. If that would have been an out of the blue sucker punch for no reason I'd have agreed with the conviction but Smail's head nearly was taken off with that crosscheck. Gardiner tried being the tough guy on a small player got what he deserved.
  14. A young Gene Principe on Global Winnipeg.
  15. Overall, Fergy did a pretty good job at the draft table. He did mess up on this one. I think Fergy liked Mann because he was a big body who could actually skate, score goals like he did in the QMJHL back then as well as fight pretty good which it turned out he could. Only problem was when he got to the Jets & the NHL he could skate & fight but couldn't score. Mann stuck around for a few seasons as the team enforcer which is pretty weird for a number 1 draft pick.
  16. Jimmy Mann was his first pick ever I believe. Jimmy Mann??
  17. McBain was a pretty decent second line winger as I recall. Nothing flashy & certainly not a Cam Neely type player but an effective one for the Jets. McBain helped the Jets become a playoff team.
  18. Ocal knows his wrestling, Too bad things didn't work out.
  19. Other than defenseman Dave Babych who the Jets selected second overall before that 80-81 season, that team was full of misfits. Journeymen hockey players who did really nothing in their careers for the teams they were with before the Jets. They were there to collect a paycheque knowing their time as NHL players would be coming to an end soon. How bad a hockey team can you really be when you win just 9 games out of an 80 game schedule as I think it was back then? Really bad. I remember more than once seeing an enraged John Ferguson frustrated with the lack of talent & effort on that team with sheets of paper floating out of the press box. Whoooo weee did he ever get angry!!
  20. Living here in Calgary, I don't understand Brian Burke. A trained lawyer yet he's been a hockey guy his entire life. He's well spoken & an experienced hockey executive. However,I don't know if there is something wrong with Burke which I'll get into later. Something just doesn't seem quite right. TSN's Craig Button kept talking like Burke makes the hockey decisions but in reality it's Brad Treliving who is the actual Flames GM not Burke. Burke advises & is a Flames Vice President. He hired Treliving to be the Flames GM & he is in charge of the actual hockey operations of the Flames & Burke is not. Burke made it quite clear when he hired Treiving to point out that he would not interfere with his new GM & his duties. Treliving was unavailable for the Draft Lottery as he is over in Europe busy with his role as Team Camada's GM at the World Championships so Burke was his stand in. In the last year or two Burke has really let his appearance slide. His hair is longer than it used to be, Doesn't wear a tie with his suit jacket. I guess it's stuffed in one of his pockets. Last night he looked like he came into the TSN studio after an all night bender. It's like he doesn't seem to care about his appearance anymore. Look at the other GM's as they were all dressed immaculately proudly representing their team. Then there was Burke. I'm hoping that Brian is okay & that he is in good health.
  21. Okay, ESW. Guess I was a bit slow on that one,
  22. Be interesting what we do with the 22nd pick.
