  1. FIVE TO WATCH Topping our ‘To Watch’ list a year ago was receiver Dalton Schoen, who then went on to lead the Canadian Football League in receiving and being named the league’s Most Outstanding Rookie. That’s a high bar, but here are a handful of fresh faces to begin tracking now: #90 DE Jadrian Taylor: The Blue Bombers could use some import depth behind Willie Jefferson and Jackson Jeffcoat and Taylor, who spent two years at UTEP, is one of the candidates to track during camp. LB Barrington Wade: Has had NFL looks from Baltimore and Denver, has impressive testing numbers, and caught the eye of Bombers scout Cyril Penn last year at Broncos training camp. WR Michael Young: Played his college ball at both Notre Dame and Cincinnati before NFL opportunities last year from Indianapolis and Houston. The Blue Bombers receiving corps is stacked, but that doesn’t stop management from looking. #49 LB Gee Stanley: An intriguing prospect in that he can play linebacker and could also get a look at the Dime spot. That versatility can be key in the CFL. DE Aaron Sterling: Similar situation to Taylor, listed above. Check out Cyril Penn’s piece on him from late March here: https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/03/28/tales-from-the-scouting-trail-aaron-sterling/
  2. They may not be the most stacked this year according to some.
  3. And the fact the poor snap from the centre didn't slow Collaros down and that he knew exactly where the line of scrimmage was. I'm equally impressed with the team going for it with 52 seconds before half. Many other Bomber teams have just taken a knee in those situations.
  4. Lol. You need to imbrace it like the Bombers have. The intro to Darren Cameron and Ed Tait's Handled Internally podcast includes Kelly's infamous quote.
  5. Walters has mentioned there is going to be separate competitions for back up QB and for the short yardage QB postion. It's going to be interesting to see how the QBs will be deployed during camp.
  6. The Blue Bombers today announce the signing of American quarterbacks Cooper Callis and Josh Jones, American linebackers Christian Dixon and Barrington Wade, American defensive end Jadrian Taylor, and three 2023 CFL Draft choices; defensive lineman Tanner Schmekel (35th overall), running back Jonathan Rosery (62nd overall) and defensive lineman Collin Kornelson (44th overall).
  7. Times haven't been released yet but I image practices will start around 830-1000.
  8. Barrington Wade was justed signed yesterday. 6 foot 1, 232 pounds. Was on the Bombers' neg list for awhile. Spent time on the Broncos' practice roster and got into 4 games in 2021. Was released by Denver at the end of Aug last year.
  9. I could see Leggs being the punter and Sergio handling the kicking duties. Their salaries would prolly add up to what Medlock was making.
  10. Looks like Sergio received a 30k bonus when he signed his new contract with Edmonton.
  11. I saw this over the weekend. Sure is a different environment here with the Canadian Mafia running things:
  12. Yup, and Eli is back on the roster as well.
  13. Mike Riley probably holds the record for coaching in the most football leagues.
  14. The Bombers have done well at the draft under Walters but it's interesting to note that the team has the second lowest amount of draft picks from the last 6 years still on the team.
  15. I know Miller blamed the overage on injuries but wouldn't they have had re-signing bonuses included in the total as well? Not that it matters but it would appear to me the team knowingly went over the cap.
  16. One of Tyrell’s closest confidantes, Recruit Ready founder Brad Black, says his pupil, a 4.57 man in the 40-yard dash, is the most polished prospect he’s ever seen coming out of high school and is considered the No. 1 receiver prospect in Canada. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/2023/01/12/winnipeg-receiver-turning-heads
  17. The league also has a policy to not release attendance numbers. Imagine if it was the CFL that did that? We wouldn't hear the end of it from guys like Arash.
