I wouldn't be surprised if the Bombers are in meetings today and doing a walk-through on the field. In the past the team has held practices early in the week that they haven't announced to the media.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have acquired quarterback Zach Collaros and a 2020 fifth round draft pick from the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for a 2020 third round draft pick and a conditional first round pick as early as 2020 should Collaros re-sign with Winnipeg. https://www.cfl.ca/2019/10/09/bombers-acquire-zach-collaros-argos/ Why does the deal have to end at FA?
-
You're prolly joking but the draft is only a couple of weeks before training camp. Does a team really want to wait that long to determine their QB situation? Besides, the 1st round pick doesn't have to be from 2020. If the Bombers signed Zach after the draft the Argos would get a pick from a future draft. Also if the Bombers do sign Zach it looks like Walters and the Argos can negotiate what draft year the 1st rounder will come from. If the Bombers win the Grey Cup this year that pick from 2020 would be 9th over-all.

It's crazy how even though the Stamps have had a dominate team lately they have only won the Grey Cup twice this decade. In fact all teams have won a Cup in the last 10 years except for the Bombers and the TiCats. All the more reason for the Bombers to win it all this year. Need everyone to start talking about the TiCats having gone over 20 years without a Cup win. #1999

They are only closing the practices to fans as media can watch the Weds and Friday practices. Fajardo wasn't planning on practicing until Thurs (which is closed to the media) so we may not find out how he's doing until Friday.

Take a drink every time them mention or show Sara's Sorels. That's if she's at the game. Who knows maybe she's at the Jets game.

McGuire was the holder for a few games at the start of the season.

Fil de Jeu - Als @ Bombers
WinnipegGordo replied to Eternal optimist's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yeah, he's had more reps than a lot of backups. Other QBs like Arbuckle and Evans have had success while having a small amount of game experience prior to this season. People complain that Streveler wasn't given reps when Nichols was starting and now it's McGuire whose not getting experience at the end of games. The reality is most teams don't put in their backups unless there is an injury. -
Yeah, the Als were pissed that there getting pushed around. Surprised the refs never called any of the after the whistle stuff by Montreal.
-
I'm concerned that guys are now going to take extra shots ar Strevy, knowing if they knock him out the Bombers season would be done.
-
That's correct. Neufeld could now be removed from the injured list without it counting against the cap. (2 players a season can be removed early from the 6 game after they've been on for 7 games or more without it going against the cap)

2019 CFL Season: Around the League

Riders might be able to handle the 80s Allouettes this week. A lot of those guys would be in their 60s now. -
2019 CFL Season: Around the League

Ryan's returnable punts are returns an average of 18.9 yards. Medlock's are returned 8.2 yards. Ryan's punting average is 50.6 whereas Medlock's is 43.9. Whether Ryan likes it or not, Taylor's numbers don't lie. -
They haven't played since he signed there. He's been added to the active roster so he maybe playing this week.

2019 CFL Season: Around the League

Lol, I'm not surprised Pedersen doesn't see the difference between the hit on Rempel and the one on Fajardo. QBs get hit high all the time unfortunately, but when was the last time a long snapper been knocked over? -
They are Canada's Team and all other franchises should be measured against their incredible success.
-
Yup, only record I'm concerned about is O-5, the Bombers' Grey Cup record since their last win. Need to be 1-5 after this season. That wouldn't be much different than the Riders' 2-3 over the same time period.

Banjo Bowl - GAME DAY THREAD
WinnipegGordo replied to Eternal optimist's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He also needs to learn how to throw the ball away like Nichols. He's taken 2 grounding penalties so far and it could argued that the 1st one cost the Bombers the game in Regina. -
I had a look. Alexander is done his 6 game but Jeffcoat has 1 game left. Briggs, Neufeld, Nelson and Oliveira are on their 2nd 6 game terms and can be taken off at anytime now with no SMS implication. (Maximum of 2 players can be taken off the injured list with no SMS impact if they have been on the list for 7 or more games.)
-
I wonder if the emergence of Hansen changes any Dline roster decisions. For the playoffs I would definitely dress Roh, Jefferson and Jeffcoat but down the stretch run they may rest guys and not use a DI on a DE for a game or two. The team has rested starting DLinemen in the past.
-
Yeah, the Riders were fortunate that Adams was out with a concussion when they played a few weeks back.
-
I don't think they will take Nichols off the 6 game early. That's a lot to pay a guy for 1 game. I believe the Bombers save 75K for every 6 games Nichols is on the injured list.
-
Yeah, I think it's Calgary who the Bombers need to keep an eye on. That last home game on Oct 25th could be for 1st place. It will be interesting if the Bombers do clinch 1st as they have a bye for the last week and then would get another bye for the 1st round of playoffs. At least their next game would be at home and the fans could help them get back into game mode and not have a sluggish start.
