  1. not enough love here for TCB...... the Lamplighter Amber is a Top 5 beer for me, and the pizza is outstanding.
  2. Ontario?? Wine...... *fart noises*
  3. Know them very well, and currently have a limited edition of BOTH varieties of whiskey they've made so far. My cousin is very close with Keith Robinson, who's from MB/NW Ont, so I've been a huge fan of Wildlife for awhile now. I'm due for a trip out that way to tour the facility (I'm 1.5h from "the mountains" and you'd be surprised how little we get out there...)
  4. Thank you - who's he replacing on our starting roster? Sheed? Not likely.
  5. Stone Angel wouldn't be in business if things were as bad as Mike says. They'd be shut down by now. I don't have any connection to that place, other than it's our "park and walk" spot for Bombers games, so we always stop for at least one before the game. Have never had a beer that I didn't like at SA.
  6. One Great City doesn't quite know what it wants to be......that's my only issue with them. Everything is "pretty okay"...... The second I walked into Nonsuch, I felt like I was going to get tossed for not making enough money to be in there. I don't expect taprooms to be dive bars, but that place, I just felt like I was being judged the whole time I was there. Maybe I'm just more ghetto than I realize... ha ha. Ever since that experience, it's affected my view on their beer. One of, if not THE, best brewery(ies) in the city. They know exactly who they are and what they want to do. A lot of great beers, and in the winter, the Grandpa's Sweater stout is something truly special.
  7. have been to Sookrams.....it was alright. I appreciated the owner coming around table to table, checking on people to see how they liked the beer. Was a nice touch. Not sure I have an absolute favourite in the city, right now, (in terms of breweries as a whole, not beer specifically) but there's lots of good ones I enjoy visiting. For me, it's half about the quality of beer, and half about the taproom experience. My Lotto Max dream is building a small brewery along the waterfront in Pinawa, because, for me, it's all about "beer with a view". A patio with waterfront views, and a really good beer? Life doesn't get better than that.
  8. the place we crash at when we're in town for games is about 8 minutes south of that (says Google) so that's definitely going to be a pit stop in a couple weeks. I thought I knew about every brewery/taproom in the city, but new stuff keeps popping up....
  9. also, any word on a Kilterpalooza for the 5th bday on the June 9/10 weekend? Last year was a solid time for the 4th..... Common at the Forks is one of our fave spots to stop at any time of year... all this love for Pump House has got me intrigued. Will definitely visit this summer.
  10. Best restaurant on the water front with a good local beer selection??
  11. It's gotta be ******* exhausting to be that angry all the time...
  12. I think "Irish Paul" rubs some people the wrong way, but trust me when I say he is exactly your kind of person...... he's a character and a half. And yes, they make some really traditional Euro-style beers. It's one that I'm most interested in getting you to try..... them and Barn Hammer.
  13. there's a bunch of stuff at SA that's really great. Pre-game Onkel George on the SA patio is an absolute staple..... I know Mike has issues with their ownership, but the beers are really good.
  14. that was a good one... not sure if that's the Pascucci one, or the one my buddy Chad made (he made a pile of Bombers YouTube content before it all got shut down by the league) but it had some just ridiculous stuff on it. The TD catch he made in the '01 GC that was basically triple coverage was just absolutely ridiculous...
  15. Where exactly on the field do you put him? Who comes off to make room for this so called weapon? On paper, i can't remember a team that had as many offensive weapons as the Bombers do right now. It's grossly unfair, TBH....
  16. Ford might be the better of the two QBs (Corny/Ford) and could very well end up being the starter. Absolutely no reason to play him this early. Let him and Corny split reps against us.
  17. I'm convinced Diesel is just trying to keep this going until the technology is there to resurrect the dead. They can "Captain America" over Cody Walker, but it's the dialogue that they'll need help with. But make no mistake.... Diesel wants to do it.
  18. Who exactly is Jeremy Murphy going to unseat on this offense, barring injury (knocks on wood).....??? BOO is still well ahead of him as well. Murphy should be damn happy to be on the PR and learn for awhile. And in an offense that has the best QB in the league, the 2 best receivers in the league, the best OL in the league..... And a more than competent RB...... We need a weapon???
  19. when your team is this good, and there are very few battles, and camp is mostly just a place to see what kind of back-ups you have in stock........ it doesn't necessarily make for the most exciting TC ever. But it's a good ******* problem to have.
  20. So.... I saw Fast X. Sigh. Here's the thing.... Generally speaking, I am a big fan of this franchise. My wife LOVES these movies... I will go to bat for Fast 4-6 as among my favourite action movies. 7 was the last DECENT one (relatively, to the rest of the franchise) and they just started getting epic-ly stupid. Fast 9 is one of the worst big-budget, tent pole films I have ever been witness to. I felt sad for everyone involved. So anyhow, I'd read the reviews for Fast X and just how truly awful it was..... And here's what I'll say: It's dumb.... You have to go beyond shutting off your brain. The list of things that make ZERO sense is a mile long. Having SAID THAT..... I have spent far worse time in a movie theatre. It's definitely a step up from 9, a bit of a return to "form" for the franchise. Jason Mamoa is having more fun in this movie than I've seen anyone have in a long time. There will be some weird comparisons made to Ledger's Joker, that Mamoa is going for the same vibe but doesn't have the pure evil gravitas that Ledger brought to his villain.... But I don't think that's a fair comparison. I feel like Diesel really learned something from his MCU work and is going for an Infinity Saga thing to wrap this series of movies. X was his Infinity War and the next one will be his Endgame. So I guess short story long, if you have enjoyed these movies in the past.... And you're willing to just "shut the brain off" for 2 hours, it's not the worst summer blockbuster. It's absolutely a step up from 9.
  21. Ooooof that really sucks. I wonder if we just couldn't afford him or what. Curious how close to his level of play Anthony Bennett can be...
  22. Leggett was angry when he left the Bombers, went on Rod Pedersen's stupid podcast and bad-mouthed the Bombers... Said something about how the locker room was bad... It was all sour grapes. This woulda been 2019 I think...
  23. Yes, they're writers.... Not football scouts. They don't necessarily know more than we do. And in some cases (we have Booch, JBR, etc that are experts or at least semi experts) they know less. They're writers/reporters... Just doing a job.
