As mentioned, the average person has no clue about what's going on, on the field during TC. The only ones who know are the coaches and they're not going to say anything to tip their hand. Every quote from Osh in the daily pressers when asked about individual guys is "he's awesome" (basically)... So you're not going to get much until we see a PS game and even then... Maybe not til final cuts are made.

Be sure to hit up The Forks... Just to say you did. Pre game pints at Stone Angel, where you can park and walk to the game.

I was just coming here to post that...... ha ha. Apparently Trevor Harris said the same thing in The Gap...that they might have 3 or 4 guys hit 1000 yards. Best of luck with all that fellas.........

it was Ricky Williams that I was thinking of. I remember being at the game they played in Wpg (my first year as a STH) and sitting in our endzone seats and watching Doug Brown hit him so incredibly hard. I remember quotes from Brown before that game talking about how much he was looking forward to playing RW.... we definitely put a hurt on him. Williams had some quote, at the time, about how he'd likely be able to put up 5k yards in a season up here....

Yeah, there's no way to know that's true....about the uptick. We re-upped in '20 at (I think??) 3.49...... if prime has leveled off now, and is going to start coming down in the final quarter of this year, by '25, things should be sliding back to where they were before, unless you think it's going to be a non-linear situation, and there will be hikes and drops over that time...

re: books into movies...... Grisham's The Rainmaker still makes me angry. Maybe my favourite of his tombs, and the movie was just awful in comparison. They changed so much of the dialogue, gave lines that one person said to another person entirely.....changed the tone...... so many things. Man I was really frustrated because I so badly wanted it to be good. Damon, Devito, Glover and more......sigh.

Who was that ******* NFL RB who got busted for pot so the CFL let him play up here for a season and he had a huge target on his back. He said he could run for 5k in a season and he didn't do **** because he was old and washed up at that point and every team just keyed on him heavy......

I'm intrigued by this and will dive deeper. Bill's "Stories From The Road" is absolutely fabulous, filled with great features he wrote for the FreeP about rural Manitoba (my favourite subject!)

When I was working in Dauphin, I curled against Rae often... knew him well back then. Good guy, good curler! He knows my friends, the Forsyths, quite well....

I generally have 2 or 3 on the go at all times. I don't read a TON of new material, but always read the new Grisham when it arrives each fall. I like to read a lot of Manitoba-based stuff, and am currently reading the newly updated Bart Kives "Daytripper's Guide To Manitoba" and his co-written "Stuck In The Middle 2: Views Of Manitoba" which I'm also enjoying. Every year at this time, I re-read Bob Irving's curated Winnipeg Blue Bombers 75th Anniversary book, so I've got that going as well.
