Even if Mike wants to play the Debbie Downer card (you really should leave that up to the pros, bro...) I'm choosing to be excited about the draft tonight. If nothing else, it means we're that much closer to camp starting and it gives us something legitimate to talk about tonight, and for the next week. Next Weds is Rookie Camp and next Sunday is Main Camp. We're almost there!!

a friend of mine in HS had a copy of a generic Greatest Hits album of Lightfoot's, and I remember it was Rainy Day People that first hooked me. As I got older, and into broadcasting and then music programming, I really understood the genius of his works. Cochrane once described Lightfoot as "akin to one of the Group Of 7 painters..." and that's a really great way to describe his cultural impact. Lightfoot, Tyson, Connors....... few wrote about various aspects of Canada better.

First election sign that I've seen so far in my tiny little UCP stronghold.... And it's NDP! (if I was betting, in this town, I'd say it's teachers or some other union member) Hoping this is a positive sign that things are gonna go Progressive in this province at the end of the month...

the team that likely appreciates Canadian Content more than any other has been in the last 3 GC games, won 2 out of 3, and was a fluke away from winning 3 in a row. That should be the template for every team in the league. CanCon matters....

that was a really interesting piece, and totally unsurprising, of course. The Christians are angry about perceived "pornography" and introducing kids to things they'd rather them not see. Well, what about Christian literature available in the library? There are many who would rather their children not see that kind of perceived propaganda, so let's protest and have that stuff removed. I really feel for the librarians just trying to do their jobs.

There's a game used Buck jersey that just went for 100 bucks on eBay. Was a little more than I wanted to spend so I got outbid, but I might get a different one. My big thing this season is what jersey to wear on game days. I had a Walby that has been lucky since 2019, but I got it autographed, so it's now retired to the wall (one of the all time biggest jersey fails is wearing an autographed jersey... Don't do this, kids...) and now I need to decide what isy new gale day jersey. Thinking about a Coach Buck navy blue from the era with those quasi-Chargers jerseys (with the terrible shoulders) that's on my wall right now. Might see how that treats us for Day 1..... But we'll see what comes up for sale between now and then.

You aren't going to get a great return on any players because the Jets aren't dealing from a position of strength. MAYBE Helle gets you something but when every team knows you have problems, they're gonna bend you over a barrel... Be prepared for underwhelming returns or guys just walking into UFA....

Lots of guys coming up on UFA status so it's prime time for trades.

The USFL is entirely based on TV money, is my understanding....
