If it was this year - that would be awesome. In 2025......well let's just hope they're able to watch the game! Maybe this, though? -

wondering if it makes any sense to start a GC'25 thread, two years away? Maybe not quite yet. At any rate, that vid was unreal @rileymarra!! Got a little broken up watching that....whew. 2025 is going to be a massive year and I can't f***ing WAIT! -

2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)

I really hate to agree with Bluto, but I mostly agree. I think Harris is capable of playing decent football with the right tools, but that Riders team is such a total garbage fire, that I'm not sure he'll be able to show what he's got left. I know the Gappers are thinking that it's going to be the same story as Collaros's redemption with us, but a) Collaros was younger and b) We had a MUCH better team (especially OL) around him. -

Calgary very much thinks they're Toronto-West. In my 15 years in the area, there's never been a real pro-CFL stance. They're more into UFC and NFL than CFL. -
middle of the line up had a really bad night. Colton and BJ were the shits, unfortunately. Colton can be excused, as he's young and relatively inexperienced, but BJ needed to be better in a big game. Dunny was incredible all week.... the most impressive player in the bonspiel, considering his age and experience. Real shame they let those arrogant asshats win yet again.

Also they will not have one red cent of public money go toward, *ahem*, "billionaires play thing!!11!!" (always ignoring the public, non-sports usage of the facilities...) -
Game 66 : Maurice's old team @ Maurice's new team

Lowry in, the rest out. -
The most stressed I've been since Grey Cup. That shot of Dunstone unable to watch Bottcher final stone... That is me. The only team I hate more than Bottcher is Douchue. Let's ******* finish this thing... Bull ******* ****. The only reason that game was even close was because Kennedy made the biggest fluke of his life. He MISSED the double he was trying to make and rolled over perfectly frozen to prevent what would have been a 3 or 4 ender for Dunstone in 6. And he actually had the courtesy to apologize to Matt as he walked by him after. Dunstone team fought through numerous horseshoe moments and still came out on top because they're the better team. Here's hoping they can do the same tonight.

Lost a pants shitter tonight. Shouldn't have been a close game. Classic Douchue with a horseshoe up his ass all game. I feel like I'm cursed to see a Bottcher/Douchue final just to completely destroy my soul.

it finally happened....... RIP to the greatest in Bombers history: -
I've been banging the drum for awhile, but he's the best men's curler "we've" produced in decades. Mike is/was very talented, but.....with all due respect to him....Matt is mentally stronger. When KMart broke the story that Matt was getting back together with his World Jr champ teammate Colton Lott, and picking up one of the best 3rd's in the history of Manitoba curling, BJ Neufeld, I was ecstatic. I don't love bringing in a Harnden from out province, but it is what it is. He's helped calm/steady Colton on the front end. Overall, it's one of the best Manitoba men's teams in a very very very long time. Mike's team from 2010ish was, arguably, the best in the world. They won virtually everything on tour......but when it came time for playdowns, they (Mike?) just broke down completely. They lost to everyone in the big game....even Rob "F*** Around" Fowler, one year.....it was totally psychological. I think if there had been Wild Card teams at the Brier in those years, there's a chance they would have won a Brier, but they just couldn't get over the mental hurdle of winning a Buffalo. Anyhow, short story long, this Dunstone team is something special and as someone who is insanely passionate about the state of Manitoba "pro" curling, I am beyond ecstatic. We currently own the Women's game (at this point, we're sending glorified club curlers to the Scotties to help round out the field) and if we can get the Manitoba Men's division "powered up" again, we're going to be in really good shape. We've got Mike and Fry, curling out of Toronto because they couldn't put a team together in MB (source: Cathy Gauthier) and in the Final 4 at the Brier, Jocko Gauthier curling out of BC (he's going to be outstanding with experience).... our crop of Juniors over the last several years has been really really good, which bodes well for the Men's and Ladies divisions going forward. THANK GOODNESS!! (....and Go, Dunny, Go!)

mid Jan I had a tickle cough, tested positive on a Friday night, then negative Monday and every other day for a week after that.....but had a cough, then a brutal head cold, then a cough that would not go away. Was the better part of a month before I kicked that fully. It was BRUTAL. Still not sure if it was COVID or not, but whatever it was...it sucked hard. My one "official" COVID bout, last Feb, was fairly mild thanks to science....... but whatever this thing was, was brutal.

it's also possible that those who think they haven't had it, may have but weren't symptomatic. That's a thing, for sure. But absolutely good on anyone who's still doing everything they can to avoid it. You don't want any part of it.

I still get a lot of requests for DL on our classic rock station.... his version of Mercury Blues is particularly popular....
