  1. all the examples SF listed about hockey forgiving people.....that's not a GOOD example....that's a PROBLEM. It's the problem that hockey has. It tends to use the idolization of athletes to sweep awful, criminal things under the rug. Hockey needs to be better. One of Graham James' victims had some good quotes yesterday about how there are still people who "Yeah, but think about all the good things he did..." about James, which is just unconscionable. The same for Hull. Ovi will be judged harshly one day for his Putin-backing. Heatley, MacT and others are a bit different in that they were unintentional accidents.
  2. Binnnington has been okay but man, you just can't go 0/7 on the PP at this level. Pros find a way. The Jets are in a serious slump right now and I have no idea how you turn it around.
  3. I'm very very very aware of what DC does (he's the best in the league) but "it sure is slow right now" has nothing to do with him, is my only point. If there's a lack of signings, talk to Walters.
  4. I'm still trying to figure out what Darren Cameron has to do with it being slow...?? He's the communications guy, not the GM...
  5. "The Darren Cameron" has been pumping out Handled Internally podcasts like crazy, so I don't think that guy ever takes vacation time...
  6. Jones get the Bison on her back at Scotties, Einar wears the Red and White, and Lawes will be a Wild Card entry. Plenty of 'Toba talent at this year's Scotties. MB Select will come down to Carruthers vs Dunny, with the loser likely being a WC entry at the Brier.
  7. Broadcast sched is out. Again, the pre-season schedule is embarrassing. No LOLks or Stumps.....but both Riders games make the cut. Bombers get the HOME pre-season game (thanks so much.,........) because it's the Gappers away PS game.....
  8. He was not the MOOL. The only people saying that were just suffering fatigue of so many years of Stan and wanted something different just because....
  9. Kolankowski is the C with Eli backing up.....IF Couture leaves....
  10. This. Absolutely agree that Kola is underrated around here. I'm not concerned about our OL yet. SB66 will likely start showing his age soon, but aside from that, our OL is really good for awhile yet.
  11. I don't think Dennis is particularly great.... A VERY poor man's Stan The Boy Bryant..... but yes, it would have been an upgrade on that atrocious Sask line.
  12. Of course we were... He's ours. But there's a limit. Walters doesn't overpay.
  13. Harris who might be retiring? I don't think that's a thing (Harris woo-ing Demski to TO)...... but it's absolutely possible Demski will chase the largest payday, wherever that might be...
  14. 17to85 said to me "this feels like the Sukh Chung thing all over again..." and that might be about right. Wildly over-paying for a Guard that is supposed to be the core of their OL but never really lived up to it. Definitely possible.....
  15. Knowing what we know now about Bobby Hull's off-ice life..... it's tough to say a lot of good things about the man. Having said that, if not for Bobby Hull coming to town, there may not be hockey in YWG today, so everyone should be thankful for that. An absolute legend on the ice.
  16. I saw a quote on Twitter where Bowness said that he's still dealing with the "demons of last year".... So while I'm not sure exactly what that means, it definitely means there's work to do and likely bodies to be moved out.
  17. So good! Stoked for next one Thursday!
  18. Two weeks ago, Bowness was going to be Jack Adams winner. Now we're questioning if he's lost the room.... Yikes.
  19. Just for some context, that quote was taken from a piece suggesting it's a great thing that O'Day isn't re-signing many players from last year, which is probably accurate. That team was **** and almost nobody deserved to be brought back.
  20. JEREMY ODAY IS A GREAT GM AND EVERYTHING IS FINE HERE!!
  21. AB voting preferences......sigh............ there are a LOT of people with little to no post secondary education. Just went straight into the oil patch after HS (if they graduated)....and that explains a lot.
