  1. One of my first Genesis games was NHL 97, and these are the jerseys they wore in that game. The jerseys worn when Owen Nolan "called his shot" on the breakaway...
  2. Yes Great Bear is the stuff of legends. I've read some stuff from guides who worked up there. That is almost mythical! Again, though, give me NW Ontario in June, when the bass are huddled up in fallen timber, and let me toss a Rebel Pop-R over the brush.....pop.....pop.....SMASH. The best feeling.
  3. oi oi oi oi.....I really want to try and stay out of this, because it's honestly just so silly. 97% of people around here more-or-less agree on the same things.....but the 3% come in here and tell us we're all wrong. I get a big chuckle, as well, because I suppose I'm part of the "Lame Stream Media", that tries to sit right dead centre, but I admit I can see how people on the Right can see Middle as Left. All I was saying was that I was surprised to see someone come in here with a take that was so opposite of what MOST people on here believe in....
  4. The 90s, amirite.........
  5. Everything I've ever read is that Clearwater has better numbers (more fish, but generally smaller), but Athapap has the overall BIGGEST Lakers, just that it's a really tough grind because you can spend all day and only get one or two bites, and you have to make them count.
  6. I'm not a big trout guy... One day I'd like to put in the grind for an Athapap 50" Laker, but it's not really my jam. Top water bass is my #1 jam, and hunting 30" walleye is close behind. I could spend all day every day targeting those... Pike, as they should be, are always a -1 on the board.
  7. This place is generally so sane and middle-of-the-road that I actually forgot there were crazies on here occasionally. Just wild.
  8. TIL.... Brandon is completely loony tunes... Yikes.
  9. You know Wade Miller runs this whole damn league!
  10. This should really be the end of the discussion right here ^^^
  11. You're right...Military is a bad comparison. People who enter the military make a choice to do so. The LGBTQ+ community doesn't make a choice...it's how they were born. They deserve far more respect.
  12. It's not politics.... It's religion, which is ******* RIDICULOUS in this day and age and no excuse for being an ******* and hating on minorities. The league is supposed to be all about this Hockey Is For Everyone thing, but then you get religious assholes who ruin it for everyone. The great line I heard was "what if it was military appreciation night, and someone decided to protest it? Can you imagine the uproar in the states???" How on earth is it okay to protest LGBTQ+ in 2023?!?!
  13. All the opinions about Eli, at the time, were 100% accurate and fair. Crazy anti vaxxers (religion is no excuse for bad behaviour) bailing on your team before a Grey Cup game.... That's a major problem and red flag. I'm surprised the team (the players) would be so willing to welcome him back, but as we've all said, he's a damn good player that we could really use.
  14. 17to85 and I were just saying "that is a lot of nasty assholes on that line"......nobody taking liberties against ZC8, that's for sure...
  15. He is a natural C, which Dobson is as well, plus Kola.......so I'm curious if this impacts Couture at all.
  16. but still.... if you're a Div 1 guy who has a legit shot at the NFL, jumping over to the CIS (regardless of family connections) is not the right path to getting to the NFL. But, maybe he realized he wasn't going to the NFL and was more concerned about getting into the CFL? I dunno, but something odd anyhow...
  17. that was my first thought, too.... wondering if it's an academic thing or what......
  18. Plus he was playing injured for some of last year, too, wasn't he? I don't have any concerns about him yet.
  19. I'm absolutely sickened by this Provorov situation and the league's complete inaction. Their response statement issued this morning is horrendous. Sixero's take here is spot on.
  20. I get that his going to the NFL maybe entices other players to choose the CFL over say the XFL or whatever.... helps the CFL with recruiting........ but enough. I was done with him the moment he called the CFL an unexpected detour. Good riddance and enjoy the clipboard.
