  1. despite all evidence to the contrary..... Yes.....and also a number of players 6-gamed...
  2. Long time Winnipeg FreeP/Sun editor Buzz Currie passed at 74....
  3. as I learned this past weekend, I'm not sure how I will handle things if we're not just expected to win every game of the season as long as our starters are in the game...... I mean, I'm sure there'll come a day, but I'm clearly not ready for that yet. I want 20-0 every year with 50-0 blowouts in every game. I will stand for nothing less!
  4. this is a hot, borderline insane, take. Dru Brown looked great vs BC at the end of the year. He had a couple of young-guy picks, but he can manage the offense. Matthew Schiltz is awful. There is no upside with a guy like that. Prukop is the question mark for next year, not Brown.
  5. Nope. What we were told was that vaccines (in combination with other measures such as masks and distancing) would HELP REDUCE TRANSMISSION and would HELP REDUCE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES (ie Death, being very very sick) which is exactly what they did. Listen, I'm a big fan of listening to people who are really smart....went to school for a decade and study these things their entire professional lives...... why would we not listen to them? My barber said to me "what would you like done?" and I said "You're the professional... I wouldn't tell my mechanic how to fix my truck and I'm not gonna tell you how to do your job. Just clean me up so I'm presentable". All I'm saying is: Listen to the professionals...the experts. When 99% of experts/professionals agree on something, they're probably right.
  6. the fact that we had a ******* FG (!!) blocked gives me all sorts of flashbacks to 2001 and Bob Cameron, who almost NEVER had punts blocked, of course has one blocked and ends up a TD. One of the most sickening football plays of my life....and we see a similar thing happen again last Sunday. Sigh. Just ******* disgusting.
  7. People who aren't smart enough to see the forest for the trees, complain about the obvious thing "Well, we didn't make that last kick, so we need a new kicker..." and they don't look at the plethora of things that went wrong in that game, including the offense having a relative pants-shitting. They also don't look at the massive leap Liegghio took from last year to this year, and think about the similar leap he could take from this year to next. It's not like P/Ks grow on trees...... we have a near-95% CIS kicker who has a MASSIVE ceiling, if we let him grow into it. He's not the reason we lost that game. I'd hate to see him go be an all-star for another team next year....
  8. From Our Man Tait's wonderful piece: https://www.bluebombers.com/2022/11/24/theyve-built-something-very-cool-here/?fbclid=IwAR1JZnJaYqHVswja5--ToFgMi-f0nvgXySqpOdQ8-V8365vxA9gQETLBtZg O’Shea was also quizzed about his interest in potentially taking on more management duties – like Wally Buono, Cal Murphy and others before him – but wouldn’t even entertain that thought. “I’ve never been in a position and been thinking about another position,” he said. “You’ve heard me say it 100 times if I’ve said it once: as a player I never thought about being a coach. I never critiqued coaches; I never did anything like that. I was, ‘You’re the coach. You tell me what to do. I do it.’ “I have my role and I solely focus on my role. I really do. And I don’t even entertain ideas of other roles because that’s not where I’m at right now. I try to stay as present as possible. To me, that makes it pretty easy.”
  9. I agree in theory and have a lot of thoughts about this. When I get to a keyboard (not just my phone) I'm going to type them out properly. It's the offense, mostly, that has me troubled come playoff time.
  10. I can't stop laughing about this interview...
  11. some interesting tidbits in here, including the possible loss of Marty Costello and Lapo staying with TSN in '23.........
  12. If O'Shea stays, the core stays....it's that simple. All this loss did was piss them off. 20-0 next year....let's go.
  13. as Booch has mentioned a few times, Stan The Boy Bryant is the last one to sign, usually. He'll wait and let everyone else get what they need/deserve, and then he'll take whatever in the end. He's not concerned about a massive raise or anything. Knows the team will take care of him.
  14. awesome. From injury plagued to key cog in the best OL in the league....
  15. I wonder if they had to pay people to show up to that..... it wouldn't surprise me. I have a hard time believing that many people actually care about the Argos out there. **** that franchise and anyone who isn't us.
  16. KW in coverage is truly spectacular. I don't know many LBs that are as good in man coverage as KW is.....
  17. One thing they've worked out really well, is the line to the pissers. No matter how long the line is, it moves fast. I've never had to wait very long, and that's a testament to the engineering of the place.
  18. the very first time I was ever at IGF, the jammed concourses was the first thing I noticed. Now, after nearly a decade, it seems fine to me. Our tickets this year were between 226-230, depending on the game, so we spent a lot of time up in that area, and I found it to be a TON of room, both on the concourse and in our seats. IGF is just a spectacular facility and I can't wait to one day be a full time STH...
  19. Don't ever apologize. It is incredibly helpful to "write it all down" and get it out there. I have zero issues talking about this stuff and just hope it's helpful to others. When my depression and anxiety are at their worst, my sleep goes to **** and everything gets even worse. I was nearly suicidal once a couple of years ago, and thankfully got help. About 5 or 6 weeks ago, I fell into that hole again but thankfully not quite as deep. I knew I needed help, but wasn't AS bad. Still, it required a weeks stay in hospital to keep an eye on me and make sure we got things back on track. The reason I bring this up is because this message board (and a group chat on FB with my best friends) kept me going through some dark times. I'm so appreciative of all the people here (yes, even TBurg and TB4E...) and the conversations every day!!
  20. If there was any other news (that was from yesterday, btw) it would be here. Zach said his foot was fine...
