  1. I just said to my buddies last night "I like hockey, but I just don't like it enough to care as much as I do about the CFL...." I love curling, and will get excited for the various playdowns starting in January, but honestly, the only thing that's going to get me through this off-season is ice fishing. My wife and I are going to spend a lot of time camping out on a southern Alberta reservoir this winter, and that'll be the one thing I have to look forward to until May...
  2. LESS CFL??!!!??? Jayyyyzusssss........ no, no, no, no. The off season is too long as it is. I'm going to have a ***** of a time getting through to May.........
  3. that's actually a good point.... Wade is as crucial to all this as Osh/Walters are. He's willing to spend to create a winner. I suppose the bitterness of losing this game will hopefully motivate the roster to be even better next year and not let it slip through their grasp.
  4. Stove isn't coming back...need to move on from that idea and find someone else. He doesn't want to play in Winnipeg, and coming off his injury, he's a huge risk. Let's just go down to the pound and get a new stove...
  5. this is fair, but I definitely do feel a bit of 2001, in so much as it feels like it COULD be the beginning of the end of this run. I mean, we had to lose eventually, I guess, but I am so scarred from 28 years of not winning it all, that it's going to take a LOT longer than a 2 year run to erase the uneasy feeling of "here we go again..."
  6. I have 100% faith in Liegghio to continue to get better. His last kick was blocked..... you guys know that, right? The blockers ****** him on that one. This is a (nearly) 95% CIS kicker, who went from being VERY questionable last year to one of the best all-purpose kickers in the league this year. He's going to be even better next year. I have no doubts in that whatsoever. He did not cost us last night's game.
  7. Liegghio isn't going anywhere, and neither should he. Looking forward to watching his progression next year.
  8. Interesting to see the Jeffcoat hate today....I thought he was our best defensive player, or at least the most impactful.
  9. No way you're getting Oakman, Mauldin, Jeffcoat, Jefferson and Bighill all under the same cap
  10. This is the only important thread now. I'm done with the '22 season. It's time to start looking at '23. It starts with some new contracts for coaches and management, and then hopefully some key players. Concerned about an aging core, but we'll trust Walters to hopefully do the right thing.
  11. Leggs was one of the best punters and KO kickers all season.... and his FG% was good, too. Blaming him is for simple minds.
  12. Castillo wasn't particularly good for Edm. Leggs had a pretty good year for us overall. He is FAR down the list of problems in the GC game. People are just dumb and can't see more than the simple things.
  13. It's easy, for simple minds, to focus on one thing: kicking. But that's not why we lost. Offense, Defense, and STs (blocking anyone???) were **** in different spots. This was a team earned loss. I haven't been this disappointed in our starting OL in a really long time, but again, it was everyone. Bad night at the office, indeed.
  14. Also **** everyone complaining about kicking...
  15. I just ******* can't right now. I'll be lurking but I just can't without saying something I'll regret for sure.
  16. Started with a TransCan Lamplighter, switched over to an Uncle In Law's home brew (from Riding Mountain).... All MB drinks today. Ell. Eff Gee.
  17. Liam Dobson is a Manimal.... Inhuman.
  18. Got a solid night's sleep from. 1-9am after watching the 88 cup. On my first baileys and coffee.... Nervous and excited as Jeff said earlier in the thread. Just want this so badly...
  19. It's not autocorrect... You're either too young or too old to get the reference.
  20. Nice to see him back for sure, but all the Sask love from him sickens me. I really had to mute him most of the time. I also don't think he knows much about the CFL. He's a full on NFL guy.
  21. Ready to run through a ******* wall....
  22. Never mind the Winnipeg end of it, if I'm the RBs, I can't go with an unknown. It has to be someone experienced. Whether that's Khari or Dyce or whoever... After what you went through with Lapo, you can't **** this up. Taking a risk on a rookie does not seem like a good idea.
  23. I mean, you can say that you liked the Collaros pass to Adams and that it's your favourite and it changed the trajectory of the team. Yada yada..... But the best pure football play you may ever see is that interception to end last year's game. I mean, the insanity of Rose catching and then passing that tipped ball with his "wrong" (non dominant) hand, to Kyrie Wilson, who knew enough to fall down and end it.... You'll never see a better football play.
  24. Ya it'd be Walker, says Taylor.... Also, this is glorious.....
