  1. I've maintained for years that we need to buy back Alaska from the Muricans, and put the dumbest among us out there. All those anti-vaxxer, free-dumb types that want to live without government oversight, etc....ie Gappers and rural Albertans...... they can all go live there without affecting anyone else.
  2. well, have they tried not being a complete shithole of a city and province?
  3. I'm going by the horror stories I heard from people at Canadian Country Music Week back around 2008 or something.... and what a total **** show it was, in terms of pricing for everything. Maybe Grey Cup would be better...who knows. But also, **** BC......
  4. I heard, anecdotally, that it's less than 5k remaining but they're really pushing to sell it out. CJOB is doing a big give away, I think I saw, and if they're sending out the robo-calls, that's not likely a very good sign. But even if we're at 28k-ish, that's not horrible. Anything 30k and over is going to be plenty raucous in there. I suspect there will be a lot of waiting to see what the weather is like and then buy tix closer to. Wife and I are just counting down the days, and figuring out our packing for the plane. Do we bring the full ice fishing clothes this time? Not supposed to be AS cold as last year, so we'll see. Flight leaves at Noon from Calgary next Friday...absolutely can't wait to get home and start pre-celebrating!
  5. And next year in Hamilton....arguably the 2nd shittiest city to host a GC, after Regina. By virtue ofbeing about 2-3x the size of Regina, it will have more amenities (though most are ****, because it's a dirty, shitty city). Then you have BC, which is, of course, huge, but it's also a "fancy" town, so you can expect the prices for everything to be through the roof. Drinks at GC events will be around $10, I'd bet. I've heard horror stories about other national events held in Vancouver and how much everything cost. Call it the "BC Tax". Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg are host cities that probably make the most sense in terms of having adequate facilities for events, and aren't going to totally break the bank.
  6. Important to note this is not a joke tweet. They are serious.
  7. I saw Ruby on there and actually laughed out loud. He is one of the biggest turnstiles in the league. Has been overrated since the draft.
  8. Moe and Smith are in lockstep on their agendas. Complete lunatics, the both of them. The ideas they have about bypassing federal rules/laws won't/can't work....im sure they know that, but they also know its a dogwhistle that makes them popular among their lunatic fanbase.
  9. still means you've got Gapper juice in your veins.....for which I am truly, truly sorry.
  10. If you don't hate every other team in the league, are you really a fan?
  11. because **** BC, **** the Lions, and I'd think our team has a better shot at winning a home GC sooner rather than later..... also, **** any organization that isn't the WBBFC.
  12. that really really pisses me off...
  13. I feel pretty certain that the league promised Winnipeg either '24 or '25, and would not be at all shocked if that's a part of why they wanted Collaros locked in for both of those years. I have absolutely no information to back this up, but I sincerely feel like WBB FC *DESPERATELY* would love to win a GC in front of the home crowd, because it'd be the only thing they haven't done yet. I mean, there is absolutely nothing more you can do as an organization. Wade Miller could tip his cap and say good night after that one. They really REALLY want that home GC win, I think...
  14. '21 was a pandemic Cup, where they couldn't really do a lot in terms of the parties and such. They got '23 as a thank-you and a chance for them to actually make some money.
  15. Lame, because **** BC so very very much......but also this pushes Winnipeg back to (likely) '25, which means we need to try and maintain this quality play one extra year. Basically it means we need Collaros to maintain his level of play for an extra year....
  16. Collaros numbers getting better as the season went on corresponds with the "rumour" that the Bombers very gradually open their playbook as the season goes on, rather than just using the entire thing from Day 1. Once they fully opened things up, and were firing on all cylanders, they were nigh unstoppable.
  17. Not sure if this is the right idea, but independent source compiling "proper" (???) 1st and 2nd Team All Star selections:
  18. the only reason the all-stars matter is because of contract bonuses. It's completely unacceptable for the league to have allowed this to happen. If this was the first time that a situation like this had come up, that would be one thing, but the league is seemingly always tripping over themselves.
  19. Oh CFL........ Madani is going to have a field day with this. I love that we're a little boutique league, but jeeze....**** like this.......
  20. I do worry a little (anxiety is fun!) about the Stamps kinda going on the same run we did in '19, when we had a giant chip on our shoulders about perceived snubs at the league award level. But I maintain faith in the fact that we're just that much better than every other team in the league that, as long as we play as well as we are capable of, we'll beat anyone and everyone.
  21. I voted for Nichols all 3x I was allowed, and then I see the Bombers sharing the results on their SMs, and I'm like "?????" ******* people......
  22. fans definitely had a say - you could vote up to 3 times, which I did. The Bombers had been sharing the results every few days and for some reason Winston Rose was the leading choice for DB and I just could not understand if the fans even watch the games...
  23. it is absolutely 100% NOT worth paying those prices to stay in ******* REGINA....like the worst parts of Winnipeg in one small city. Giant No-*******-Thank-You. It's the exact reason we're making the West Final our big weekend, and just throwing a massive GC party at our house, with our usual GC party crew from Wpg flying in to AB for that. **** that shithole province and especially Regina and paying that much to stay there.
  24. Imagine paying 250-300/night for a room at a Best Western in Regina......Christ almighty, that ******* town.
