Once Musk has control, Twitter will eventually turn into the thing Trump was trying to create on his own, but of course was unable. I love Twitter...it's my favourite of all social media platforms, and when curated properly, it's a wonderful resource. But I'm very concerned for its future.

My life in Alberta for the past month. I tried...I really did....and there's maybe 5% of the population wearing one, so I just gave it the "why even bother anymore....?"

2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed defensive tackle Kenneth Randall. The six-foot-two, 302-pound Randall played his NCAA career at the University of Charleston with the Golden Eagles. He earned first-team All-Mountain East Conference honours in 2019 and finished his collegiate career with 64 tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles. Randall signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021 as an undrafted NFL free agent and attended the team’s training camp. The Blue Bombers also signed offensive lineman Leon Johnson. The six-foot-five, 332-pound Johnson spent four years at Temple University with the Owls. He made 10 starts at left tackle during his senior season including the season-opener against Notre Dame in which he served as one of the team captains. Johnson started 14 games at right tackle during his junior year. Prior to signing with Winnipeg, Johnson signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted NFL free agent in 2018 and attended the team’s training camp. He signed with the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football for the 2019 season. Johnson would later go on to sign with the Calgary Stampeders in 2020 and saw action with one start in 2021. -
I was saying to a few people today, Mother Nature owes you one of those amazing summers where it's hot and sunny for 3 or 4 months and you can spend epic days at the beach/cottage. There is nothing better than a great Manitoba/NW Ont summer....

2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread

Ottawa, as well, have cultivated a gaje day experience. A lot of teams have **** all. Calgary has some tailgating that's fun before the game but that's about it. Combined with the worst stadium in the league and you're not doing enough. Bombers are the the high bar of the league in every single way right now. -
So how bad is it? My mom's place in Transcona is pretty swampy in the yard. They're working hard to keep water out of the basement. Couple other friends have sump pumps working constantly. How are you guys all faring?

When they switched to the Arabica beans back around 2004, everything changed. They immediately outpaced Tim's and not much had changed since. I don't mind Tim's but McDs is really good coffee.

https://3downnation.com/2022/04/22/despite-recent-success-zach-collaros-believes-bombers-wont-have-difficulty-finding-motivation/ Beautiful family, back-to-back Grey Cup rings, a shiny Most Outstanding Player trophy on his shelf, and the highest paid contract in the CFL, you might say that Zach Collaros has it all. In a sport where you need to stay hungry, it is only natural to question how the Blue Bombers’ starting quarterback is staying motivated after gorging himself on success. But as Collaros and his Winnipeg teammates gear up for a run at a rare Grey Cup three-peat, finding fuel for their competitive fire has never been an issue. “For me personally, I’ve always kind of embraced the role of the underdog. I wasn’t really highly recruited and all those things, so I’ve always had a chip on my shoulder and I think a lot of the guys on our team are built the same way,” Collaros explained in an appearance on 980 CJME’s The Green Zone. “Talk to Adam Bighill or Willie Jefferson, you can go on down the line. Even Stanley Bryant, who is maybe going to go down as one of the greatest offensive linemen to ever play our game, but he comes from humble beginnings as well. I think we’re a group of people that are built that way, with the chip on their shoulder, so I don’t think it’s going to be hard for us to find motivation.” Nonetheless, it has been a topic of conversation among members of the Bombers’ veteran core. As many negotiated returns to Winnipeg this off-season in order to chase a chance to become the first team to win three straight CFL titles since the Edmonton dynasty of the late 70’s and early 80’s, the internal chatter on the topic was already helping to set the tone. “During the entire free agency period, the group of guys that were signing back were all in a group chat saying we’ve got to continue to find an edge. It’s been in the back of our heads really since the week after the Grey Cup celebrations,” Collaros acknowledged. “I think a lot of us knew we wanted to be back here. It’s hard in our profession to not think into the future and get excited about the next season, so we’ve been talking about it.” The Bombers can no longer claim to be slept on by fans or the media, they have rightfully claimed the status as the league’s flagship franchise and enter the season as the unanimous Grey Cup favourite according to Ontario sports books. However, the roster has undergone serious changes this offseason, with workhorse Canadian running back Andrew Harris and league-leading receiver Kenny Lawler highlighting a long list of departures that also includes Darvin Adams, Steven Richardson, Alden Darby, Drew Desjarlais, DeAundre Alford, and Jonathan Kongbo. Those who remain will have to pick up the slack while drawing their edge from chips on the shoulder established long before they were champions. “Again, it really comes down to just doing our jobs and trying to do them at as high a level as possible,” Collaros added. “I think we have the right group of people to do that, but it’s the CFL, it’s football, the game changes every week and year to year, especially with the one-year contracts. It makes it that much more difficult, but we’re really excited for the season.” -

I read stuff awhile back that this was going to be the least contentious CBA negotiation ever, because they were on very friendly terms before it even began. Of course, this can all change very quickly, but so far seems to be living up to the billing. I am sofa king pumped for the upcoming season. Talked with Carol about a 3-game flex pack of season tickets this week. Very very very very excited about this. Flying home for the Opener, will be home on holidays for the Aug 25 game vs Cgy, and then flying home again for Banjo Bowl. Going to be an amazing summer for a 3-peat.... -

Derek Taylor (DT) named new voice of the Blue Bombers
Noeller replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No. My understanding is that he was so good (or popular) on the Wolf morning show that they didn't want to take him off that. As an olive branch, he was given a role within the Riders broadcast. That's my understanding of the situation. Country radio is a small world and we're all friends, to a degree.... -

as I'd speculated earlier, it looks like Michael Ball (long time CKRM/The Wolf announcer) is going to be the next Riders PBP voice. He'd wanted the gig really badly when Taylor got hired and there were some complications at that point....but looks like he won't be denied this time. Good for him...he's been a good foot soldier over there for a long time. -

2019 GC at McMahon.... Nothing in my life will ever top it. -
Yes! I'm a huge Apatow-Universe fanboi, so Segel is one of my guys for sure, and he's a big basketball guy, so he fits this role well. Brody is great in anything. I was reading some pans of the show, and was disappointed that the critics apparently hate it. Read a take from Kareem today (he's 75 but still very active online) who called it boring.... Really hates it.
