apparently pouring rain in Montreal.... I'd think a greasy game helps us, with this roster. Win it 14-12. But I'm excited for all the "kids" who get a chance to start. I wish the stats in this game didn't count against the regular season records that we've been breaking, defensively, but it should be a fun watch, at any rate. I was supposed to work tomorrow but I switched shifts so I could listen to the entire pre-game show and the game. Really wanna soak up all the Irving broadcasts that we have left...

Irving apparently let the other media members know, during TC, that this was going to be his last season. They just made it public recently. Said that all the other work, aside from calling the games, has become too much. More than fair.

Yeah, those are just paper transactions I think....

I can't seem to find any evidence of that via Twitter.... Where was that announced?
-
Injury report also says Deatrick Nichols pulled a groin muscle and hadn't practiced this week...

Love this.....where you separate the men from the boys!

Well, Winnipeg being largely vaxxed is extremely noticeable with their (still) low TP%.....but you really notice who isn't vaxxed (south) and who's in congregate living (north)....at any rate, I still think MB is doing alright. I'm not sure how much more you can really do for restrictions. It might be one of those things that you just have to brace yourselves and be as diligent as possible until the wave passes...

I think A is still accurate.....it's relative. Without the vaccines, it would be MUCH worse. B is fair....under estimated some people's stupidity.

This is me, in August/September in Alberta.....

I think Neufeld has been great the last couple games after a rough start....

I'm legitimately curious to see what McGuire does with a full week of primary reps in practice. I suspect a heavy run offense, but he can sling it. This is essentially a pre season game, so it'll be fun to watch some newbies run around out there..

No they won't air it on the radio in Winnipeg I don't think.... Can't see them going away from a current format just for the game, but who knows. I could absolutely see Bell doing something petty just to **** Corus in the ass. It would be par for the course for big corporates.
-
I wonder if Corus could buy some kinda rights.... The issue is that nothing is local anymore. With online streaming, CJOB can, in theory, take a chunk out of Bell's radiocast. I just have such a hard time seeing two big corporates get along that much.

Don't get me wrong... If it were up to me, Irving would be front and centre on December 12th. Just from a broadcast agreements standpoint, I can't figure this out. I suppose the simplest answer is "TSN radio doesn't have a Wpg affiliate, so let CJOB come and do the game locally" but I'm still not sure Bell allows it. Seeing Corus make money from "their" game would make the suits in Toronto physically ill...
-
TSN paid for those rights.... I just shook my head at this article. How would this even work? Have two separate radio calls of the game? Bob does the entire national radio call of the game (its usually the TV B Team that does the radio cast of Grey Cup).... It just doesn't make any sense.

Speaking of Dec 5, we decided to take advantage of a cool deal from Fionn McCools that day.... Burger, Fort Garry pint and a bus ride to and from the game for 15 bucks. You can't beat that. Absolutely STOKED for that whole weekend...

If you've never seen/heard it, it's worth your time to track down some old Bombers games on YouTube that were only broadcast on the "Canadian Football Network" (because the CFL didn't have a TSN/CBC deal at the time). Irving was the PBP for it. It's a lot of fun to watch those...

a reminder that the broadcast booth at IG Field East is the "Bob Irving Media Centre" since its inception...

This is absolutely brutal for me on a few levels. As a fan.....there are few things in life that I enjoy more than Irving/Tait/Brown on the radio. I've said it before, but I could listen to those guys BS about the CFL all day. They will never be able to re-create that, no matter what they do. As a broadcaster/program director, you'll never find a better role model. He is the very definition of professional. Every single aspiring sports broadcaster should model themselves after Bob. No stupid bullshit or gimmicks....just the straight facts all the time. And little to no patience for anything else. I have absolutely no clue how they'll go about replacing him. There are options "in house", there are options within the city, not currently within Corus, and there are external options (seriously, the Rod Black thing isn't the worst idea I ever heard...). I'm sad because it's ending, but I'm happy I got to experience it while it happened.

I was thinking this week they rest a pile and then next week the starters play a half or more to get sharp before playoffs.... But I could be wrong!

Not sure if he's battling injury or not, but could be the last year for DA.... he's been a warrior for this team and a superstar when we didn't have many. -
each to their own....... Irving, Brown and Tait together is crack for me......

for the most part, that site is just a bunch of fanboi bloggers.....I wouldn't consider it "journalism" per se....
