  1. quite the accusation from them anyhow......and I know there was a lot of mis-information going around the week of the GC, saying that CJOB/Irving were upset about not having broadcast rights to the game (which Irving cleared up later, stating it was patently false that he was upset...he understands broadcast rights agreements as well as anyone) so I'm wondering if that rumour-mongering carried its way to "the Bombers hate Bauming". I have no doubts that there were some hurt feelings over how Bauming (and Jeff Hamilton!) chose to vote in the team-specific awards, but I'd have a hard time believing that they'd be so petty as to ban Bauming from the sideline. The truth, I suppose, will be lost to the ether.....
  2. Do you know that for 100% fact? ....Because that's one hell of an accusation.....
  3. Irving dictates the tone.....and he's a consummate professional. I can say with absolute certainty that, from a professional perspective, Bob Irving is far and away the best in the league at his job. Nobody is close. The CJOB pre-game maintains a tone of "guys sitting around over beers (rums for Knucks) BSing about football" which is why it's so popular. It's a very professional broadcast thanks to Bob, and has a lot of energy thanks in large part to Doug. I just can't say enough good things about the trio of Bob, Doug and Ed. The stuff about Doug using unnecessarily big words is 100% fact, but I do feel he's getting better with time. I worked with another guy who did this a lot. I always felt it was an over-compensation with the guy I worked with....for Doug? Who knows. I'm not privy enough to inside info to really know.......but it's a small gripe that's getting less and less so with time. At the end of the day, the CJOB broadcast (with the exception of the post-game phone calls) is terrific......during football season, it's the absolute highlight of my week.
  4. sigh....clogging up perfectly good threads for absolutely no reason. ****, we have a half dozen people on here who are so clueless they just ruin the place.
  5. Moderating was awful for this event. Felt like a "Pile On Trudeau" and he was never really given a chance to respond. Was tough to watch.
  6. So I'll just say a couple of things about what's been discussed: 1) Brown has never been anywhere close to awful. He was raw to start, and still uses too many big words, when a smaller one will do, but he is absolutely fabulous at what he does and gets better all the time. He has a bit of a crutch, and says "...right?" to finish off many of his statements. Likely doesn't even realize he's doing it. One of the only things I'd work with him on...otherwise he's extremely good when just being himself. 2) There is nothing finer on radio than Our Man Tait, DB97 and Bob Irving "BS-ing" about football in the CJOB pre-game. The enjoyment I get out of their conversations is incredible.
  7. Destroyed them...love it. Tide slowly turning back toward the LPC....
  8. the Bombers own "Handled Internally" podcast is pretty well done. The Doug Brown one is probably my favourite so far...some really great stories.
  9. My sincere hope is that the tough sched going forward combined with the template we've shown everyone, will equal little to no wins the rest of the season.. Like a total tanking the rest of the way. **** those assholes so very very much.
  10. well, the loss of a 1st round pick is the big penalty, but honestly, winning solves everything....
  11. I don't give two fucks what the cap situation is. No other team cares (least of all the Argos) so why should we? Spend what you need to and damn the consequences after we win another Cup...
  12. Fajardo's tantrums last weekend were absolutely a product of Maas being his OC....
  13. meh...that gimmick is a bit played. I would have liked to have seen their stadium changed to "IG Field West".....
  14. Sincere question: Do we know that it's Nelson and not the blocking in front of him?
  15. If he doesn't have NFL interest, then back the Brinks truck up. Whatever it takes. If the Argos can do it, then so can we.
  16. Bighill is a proponent/spokesman for it...
  17. I actually think his call of the game is pretty good. He also has a natural excitement/enthusiasm that translates well. He has all the tools... Just needs experience.
  18. Nielsen is going to be good. He's just a kid and has a high ceiling. Have to give him time. Right now he's a bit in awe of everything and doesn't want to rock the boat. He'll develop a spine with experience. I'm excited for what he will be in the future...
  19. Listening to the Stamps radio cast as I drive back to AB (sniff....) and they're losing their minds about the RTP call.... What did it look like on TV?
  20. Keep Faj in the pocket and force him to be a passer, and they're toast. He's trash.
  21. Favourite post of the day... You win MBB today!
  22. THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE! **** those pretender assholes and the Jesus Sprinkles horse they rode in on. 1. Biggie. DPOTY in the early going. 2. Harris. Solid if unspectacular performance. 3. 2Jeff 2Furious... Faj **** himself several times over. Actual **** in his pants. HH - Our beloved crossbar! IGF West!!! **** you Rider assholes so much. Man it's good to be home and drinking good Manitoba beer and watching the Bombers win.
