I've been so impressed with The Irishman every time I've seen him. I'm more inclined to give him more of an opportunity than to pay for a "never-was" like Masoli. Of the FA options, Arbuckle is the only guy I'd take a flyer on just to see....

Demski is so full of potential....he can really be a weapon. There's also times when he's looked disinterested or just not used enough or something....and is prone to drops. But when the guy is "on", watch out. It's the best thing I can say for Lapo in that game....that he had the mind to say "they're expecting a ton of Harris, so let's give 'em a ton of Demski instead..." and it worked really really well.

I know the CBA technically only allows for 3 days of practice (I think that's right...) but guaranteed everyone is in the office watching film and doing everything they can to be prepared "on their own time"....

Best case scenario is the Riders are rusty after time off and we come out firing and they're out of it before they even know what hit them. The discussions here are far, FAR better with a lot more people who "get it". We have football people here.. Guys who've played the game, coached the game... Just really understand it. It's not just a bunch of "Yay local sports team" (okay, iHeart... But they don't count for anything..) type people. I feel the discussions here are, for the most part, more intelligent... Nuanced....

In absolutely NO CONTEXT is it okay to say "you people"..... Or "you people new to Canada" (that's even worse). This is not the worst thing he's ever said, but when he's made the ice that thin, you better not say something that stupid...

Regarding the JPT comparison, the difference is its not the norm for him. It was a couple of incidents... Whereas with Cherry, this is just who he is. Also, JPT apologized... Fiercely and sincerely. Grapes not only didn't apologize, he spoke out saying he refused to apologize because he believes strongly in what he said. I like Cherry and his hockey takes... He's a staple of my hockey viewing life... But his politics finally went too far. Snet did the right thing.

Watched the highlight pack twice, listened to the CJOB audio vault of the broadcast on my drive home from Calgary this afternoon and now finally home to watch the game on PVR... I'm going to savour the next couple weeks.

Love Don Cherry, but I'm not surprised. This isn't the worst thing he's ever said, but it's bad. You can't say "you people" in pretty much any context. That's a non starter. The number of complaints broke the CBSC hotline. Very curious what he does now... Retire or pop up someplace else...

I realized that yesterday was the first time I've ever seen a playoff win in my life. That was neat to be a part of. All the Bombers fans congregating behind the bench in the final 3 minutes is always fun...
